Tamoq Swarmcaller |
Tamoq would be very happy with a masterwork dagger, and says as much to the woman's father.
Is he offering these free as a reward, or is he offering to make us weapons at standard cost?
Tamoq would also search around for any healing scrolls or wands that he might be able to find. A wand of cure light wounds, even with fewer than normal charges, would be at the top of his list, though he may not be able to afford one. Scrolls would be up toward the top of his list as well.
Kunala |
@Raffinyaler, what kind of weapons do we need to hurt the gremlins?
@ team: We should see if Raffinyaler wants to keep the masterwork thieves’ kit, and see if Kimos wants the masterwork chain shirt. When we sell the silver holy symbol and the masterwork hand crossbow we should be around 330 gp to buy cold iron weapons and four of us will also have masterwork weapons
Raffinyaler |
Swim: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (16) - 1 = 15
Fort: 1d20 ⇒ 10
Need cold iron to bypass the gremlins' DR. Beyond that doesn't matter much.
I've already got a masterwork thieves kit so we can sell the one we found and I'll take a masterwork hand crossbow as my reward (due to the one we found being inappropriately sized for me) and buy, assuming I can find some, cold iron bolts for it.
Kunala |
@ Raffinyaler, thanks for the info. (I’m assuming Rafinyaller told the team) Lets see if our benefactor has a MW hand crossbow your size as your free gift, then we can buy cold iron bolts (if he doesn’t donate them), we can sell the MW thieves’ tools and the MW hand crossbow from Garrol and spend the money on something else :)
I assume we are going to look at the master-craft weapons
On the way to return Garrol’s corps Kunala asks Elasbeth, Raffinyaler and Tamoq.
does anyone mind if I keep the masterwork chainmail shirt?
After Kunala, Elasbeth, Raffinyaler and Tamoq return Garrol’s corpse to his distraught fiancé, Kunala introduce the team to her father.
well met Sir, and Lady we sympathize your loss. I am Kunala and this is Elasbeth, Raffinyaler and Tomaq, thank you for your offer of master-crafted weapons, are any of them perchance ‘cold iron’? Also, not to take too much advantage of your generosity, if we do not find a weapon to our liking may we have one crafted? I myself have been looking for a cold iron long sword or a cold iron warhammer. May we look at your inventory? I do so enjoy looking at finely crafted weapons, quality workmanship like yours is so hard to find. Also, might I buy a small amount of raw cold iron to make round shot for my Pistol?
@Helicon, is a diplomacy check needed or helpful with the father or daughter?
Helikon |
@you fail. Maybe because they are already helpful ;-)
[ooc]He has every simple weapon in regular size, if it is mainly made by metal. So no Quarterstaff. He has most martial weapons at least once. In regular size. No exotic weapons.
He has every non-curved simple+martial bladed weapon in small size. So yes dagger, longsword, shortsword, rapier. No Scimitar or falchion.
MW he has Heavy mace, Spear, heavy warhammer + dagger, longsword, shortsword, rapier in MW quality at least once, light hammer three times. In small and normal.
Tamoq Swarmcaller |
Given the relative ease of buying cold iron, Tamoq would ask him if he's willing to make a MW cold iron dagger? He's willing to wait for something that will be more useful in the long run.
Elasbeth Evergreen |
"I'm afraid weapons are of little use to me sir, but a nice dagger could be handy."
Elasbeth will take a master work dagger if there are at least two or no one else needs one.
Kunala |
any chance Kunala can role for a masterwork cold iron war hammer or a masterwork cold iron long sword?
My, these weapons a wonderful, what else do you have in stock? I assume a couple of gold pieces for 1/6 pound of cold iron should be enough ?
Kunala starts to fish through the newly acquired coins to pay for his cold iron.
Kimos Kousei |
Alright you want to play that game. Lets see your bill, seeing as I saved your life multiple times already. Oh you didn't think that was free did you? Silly man, you can pay in gold or blood I assure you I can collect. >:)
Kunala |
my point, you will get your percentage for what you participated in, same as everyone else. Kimos left, you don't get part of what you didn't do. Kunala killed half the bugs, Kunala blocked the front of the cave against the frog, Kunala bled, all brought skills to the table, all shared the fight, no one saved anyone.
If we are going to role play it lets go back to the pond and role play it, but you can't expect to abandon the party and then get a share in what you didn't do
Helicon said "You return to the city unmolested", after Kimos left, the party continued the adventure, after fortitude checks Helicon said "First you bring the dead body of Gerrol to the distraught fiance. After pleading with her father, he offers each of you a masterwork weapon."
if we don't go back and roleplay it I assume the party meets up with Kimos at Vals tavern,(unaware of the event until the party informs him) after they finish at the smith
Elasbeth Evergreen |
So, this got into a mess real fast, and then silence. Very disturbing.
Elasbeth is looking very worn out at this point, "So, where exactly is a good place to stay here? I haven't had a chance to rest since I got into town and I need some sleep, it's been a very long day."
Kunala |
can Kunala role to see if the smith has a masterwork cold iron war hammer or a masterwork cold iron longsword, if not he will ask for a masterwork longsword
percentage for masterwork coldiron warhammer 1d100 ⇒ 38
percentage for masterwork coldiron longsword 1d100 ⇒ 64
if 20 percent is the number, missed it by a long shot, is there a coldiron morningstar to buy here or someplace else?
Kunala |
10 percent right? Kunala pays the 14 gp 4 s for the cold iron Morningstar and the 2gp for the cold iron for the pistol rounds then places the Morningstar and Masterwork longsword in his pack, then he asks the party
do we need to buy anything else here, before we go back to Vals? While we are considering our next move we should determine; of the gear we found what we can use and what we should sell. I know Raffinyaler spoke of acquiring a hand crossbow he could use.
when everyone is done Kunala will follow them back to Vals
Is Raffinyaler getting anything?
Elasbeth Evergreen |
Elasbeth hungrily eats the food, "This is delicious, I haven't had a warm meal in a long time, thank you." When shown to her room, she seems even more ecstatic, "A bed?! I think I've died and gone to heaven miss, thank you. Is there someplace I can bathe before I go to sleep? I've been on the road for some time, and that water we were in was not the cleanest in the world."
Tamoq Swarmcaller |
Tamoq eats the food but balks at the idea of a bed. "If it's all the same to you, I'd prefer some straw in the corner, ma'am."
Kunala |
Kunala, before eating his meal asks the team
shall we figure out what we need from the market and in the morning sell off the items we cannot use before we go to the temple?
he then gets out his gunsmith kit and using the heat from one of the forges begins molding the cold iron into balls for his pistol, being a bit of a night owl, he stays up talking with anyone willing and goes to bed fairly late.
Elasbeth Evergreen |
Waking up the next morning, Elasbeth studies her book for an hour, mentally focusing on her spell. Once she is done, she gets dressed, and comes downstairs for breakfast. "So, what's on the menu this morning miss Val?"
Kunala |
Given the relative ease of buying cold iron, Tamoq would ask him if he's willing to make a MW cold iron dagger? He's willing to wait for something that will be more useful in the long run.
@Helikon, since you never answered Tamoq I didn't know we could special order, can we pretend Kunala ordered a masterwork cold iron Hammer and did not buy the cold iron Morningstar?
Kunala awakes refreshed and goes to the dinning room to see what is going on
Kunala |
thank you, especially a back up weapon almost anyone can use :)
Kunala inspects the fine craftsmanship of the Hammer the apprentice brought and says in his accented lisp
the quality of your masters work is unsurpassed. How did he ever get it done so fast?
after breakfast Kunala will lay out all the items he is carrying that could be sold.
warhammer (from Kunala), dagger (from Elasbeth), MW hand crossbow, MW chain shirt, mw thieves tools and 60 golp pieces. Apx. total 442 gp total value
Tamoq Swarmcaller |
Tamoq happily heads over to the smithy to buy his dagger.
Cost: 304 gp
Who is keeping track of loot? Don't we have a spreadsheet somewhere? I can't seem to find the link.
Kunala |
I'm not sure how to do the spread sheet on the forum so Kunala has the items listed in his profile under "group items:" it lists what we have acquired, who's carrying it, where we got it and when.
Didn't the apprentice just bring your masterwork coldiron dagger to the Inn?
Also,Kunala owes the group 15 gp he used to by items with, it will come out of his share.
Tamoq Swarmcaller |
Helikon didn't say the apprentice was carrying them, just that they were finished. So I assumed I had to go over and pick it up.
"My friends, perhaps we could barter with the smith for these weapons we have ordered, by offering this strange contraption?" He indicates the medkit which Kunala carries.
I'm thinking with Kunala's Diplomacy, we might be able to get closer to a 1:1 trade for our new items, as opposed to selling for half and buying them, losing a bunch of gold.
Elasbeth Evergreen |
"I would rather keep the med kit if you don't mind, at least until I have had a chance to examine it more thoroughly. I may not be able to use it well yet, but I think it could be invaluable to us in the long run."
Tamoq Swarmcaller |
"In that case, we will need to convince the smith to trade us for these items." Hi indicates the MW chain shirt, MW hand crossbow, and MW thieves' tools."[/b]
I was thinking we had gained more stuff than that, so as of now if we sell these items we won't be able to afford much. :-S
Elasbeth Evergreen |
I thought that the masterwork weapon we were each offered was free of charge, did I misunderstand something or is this other weapons/supplies that you have all bought?
Tamoq Swarmcaller |
If they were free of charge, super awesome, I just never got confirmation of that, so I assumed it wasn't the case.
Kunala |
Helikon didn't say the apprentice was carrying them, just that they were finished. So I assumed I had to go over and pick it up.
your right, that's what I get for turning my computer on instead of going to bed :)
After a quick inventory and a quicker breakfast, Kunala places the items back in the ruck sack and says to the team
After we go to the smithy might we stop somewhere so I may purchase a new pair of trews pointing to the holes in his hose and then continues also possibly a bower, Raffinyaler mentioned wanting an appropriates sized hand crossbow.
Kunala will wait near the door to follow Tomaq to pick up the Masterwork coldiron weapons they ordered from the smithy
Elasbeth Evergreen |
Finishing off her breakfast, "Well, I suppose we should get going then. We have a lot to do today. Say, is there anyplace here that sells spells or places I might be able to find those with spells to trade? I always like to learn more magic, increase my repertoire."
Tamoq Swarmcaller |
"We should see if the smith would be interested in buying a few of these items from us anyway. Unless we have need for any of them, that I'm unaware of?"
