I'm loving the game pace! I keep checking it on my phone several times per day. :D

Right now my biggest concern is that where you've got me listed in the "party health" stats you're showing me with 16 hit points. I should have 17. :-)

I like the fast pace, even if I don't always keep up. I am able to post randomly as my work permits, since I can log into the guest wireless. That way I bypass the blocks on using the Paizo forums. I can view them, it's when I go to log in and/or post. Then I run into issues. Regardless, I can post when I have a few minutes here and there.

I love fast paced games. You will not see me complaining about the huge amount we moved while I was gone. If I'm delaying the game feel free to DMPC me, but I'm usually here (except when the optic fiber gets cut, like today).

Level 2: Barbarian (Invulnerable Rager) 2
1d12 ⇒ 2 Is it half or Half+1 (PFS like)?

  • Total HP 15 +6+2con+1fc=9 hp
  • +1 BAB
  • +1 Fort
  • 6 Skill Points (+1 Perception, +1 Intimidate, +1 Handle Animal, +1 Swim, +1 Climb, +1 Stealth)
  • Invulnerability (Ex): At 2nd level, the invulnerable rager gains DR/— equal to half her barbarian level. This damage reduction is doubled against nonlethal damage.
  • Rage Power: Based on the theme of the campaign, I would like to select the Lesser Celestial Totem rage power. It leads to a medium and greater version at later levels, which I may or not get, but probably will. I'm asking because those are rage powers from outside of the core+advanced books, specifically from Champions of Purity, a Paizo book from 2013. Here's a print on it.

    Otherwise I'll just get something else ^_^

    -You guys never use Handle Animal? My buddies end up using that in my games a lot. They love training war horses and animals to do tricks, or calming upset animals.

    -Roland, half HD meaning exactly half. I'm not familiar with PFS so if that is what they do, that is not what I was referring to.

    Many GMs in their games choose to handle HP each level by using the PFS standard which is half hit die +1. So if you get a D10 you take half which is 5, add 1 and that = 6.

    1D6=4
    1D8=5
    1D10=6
    1D12=7

    This is before you add any Con bonuses.

    That is how the hit dice work in PFS. Like I mentioned before, many GMs use it in their non-PFS games to simplify the process.

    Is the HD+1 simply what you gain at level up, or is it a safety net for when you roll poorly? My method is meant a safety-net for those who roll poorly, so I'll be sticking to that.

    You either roll well or you get 1/2 of a HD + Con at level up.

    It is used soley as the means of determining HP, no rolls.

    However you want to handle it is cool with me. Always getting half my hit die regardless of my roll is a nice bonus.

    They do that because the average of a hit dice is not half of its number of sides, but actually it +0.5.

    That mean the average of a d6 is 3.5, of the d8 is 4.5 and so on... That's why they use half (rounded up), because using an apparent half may be weak. Anyway, I believe rolling or taking that number is fair.

    Did you read about the rage power?

    I keep forgetting to ask but does Gromff have any info on Tylz? Something most dwarves would know because I don't have local knowledge and its a trained skill.

    @Gromff.

    Technically Catcher can disguise herself using prestidigitation. Changing hair color, cloths and such. More than that, I do not really need any weapon or anything, so it is easy I think to pass for a farmer or even a slave.
    The only thing is: based on game time line; she is stuck for the next eight hours when you just started this conversation. No way I can say anything for now.

    You have heard of Tylz. You seem to recall him as a bit of an weirdo, as dwarves go. You heard that he would rather be in a human city's library than at home in the mountain caves. He was a librarian and apprentice sage in Khaurak-Khozil's Scrollvault.

    As a heads up. Disguise self doesn't allow you to change type and devils are outsiders. So that idea is out but Gromff probably wouldn't know that.

    I'm not totally against bringing the kid but I see no good reason in character to argue for it. It would at a minimum add complications to a potentially dangerous task by increasing the number of things that could go wrong.

    Probably somewhere in the realm of 2500-3000 gp, if you're referring to standard book value.
    That said, I don't really follow book value for magic items very closely. An item's value is what someone will trade you or pay you for it, not an arbitrarily determined number in a rule book.
    I wouldn't worry to much about having equal value spread out. Let's play it by ear, I'll try to provide you all with neat things, and you guys decide who can best put these things to use. Seldom does it work out "evenly" in my experience.
    If it becomes a problem, we'll address it.

    Ha, thanks! But Roland got a little disappointed with that, he kinda expected a kick or a whip for that, gathering up his anger to get revenge on the woman later. Now he can just let her go and probably won't even mention his plan to the others ^_^
