That's a good question and I can't even find a specific ruling on that. Typically, "taking a 10" is for use in situations where you're not under threat, and can take the average roll. But since writing into a spellbook takes an hour or more, the alternative situation (writing a spell under duress) doesn't even seem to exist under almost any circumstance.

On one hand I think taking a 10 would trivialize the point of the spellcraft skill here, but on the other hand bla bla bla, who cares, we're here to have fun, and its not like you're learning archmage level magic yet.

Yes, you may take a 10 to add spells into your spellbook for the time being.

Instead of Woodland Stride, I assume you meant Hunter's Bond as your new Ranger ability. Woodland stride kicks in at level 7.

You mentioned in the "fight" with the fire creature attacking the farmstead that my resist energy spell lasted longer than normal and ring was doing something. I don't remember and the post is buried to deep for me to find. I commented on it and you said I would have to wait until we leveled to find out what happened.

Ah I see. That was actually divine prerogative. Moradin was watching, and saw fit to empower your spells temporarily.

It does seem like a neat power to be added to your ring. I think level 5 would be a great time to add it.

Ah. Well let's not jump to conclusions. A free Extend would be nice but you might think of something even more awesome and I wouldn't want to deny your prerogative as DM;)

I have a question: you stated that the efficient quiver of endless arrows never runs out. What happens when I place a special arrow (non-magical) in it? Will it never run out of those?

Also, would you reprint the flame gem stats again? I want to make sure I have everything updated correctly.

I am working on a post for having arrived at Archdale. Once I get home I will finish it and get it up. My weekend should be slow so I will have time to post more.

Well, not really downtime, but I think it would be cool to get some time to 'play' with the elf child.

I mean, Catcher pretty much love the girl.
