I think that an Oracle would be one that has their fate thrust upon them by the powers that be, though. I think there were rules for godless clerics, or clerics of ideas? Perhaps one could be a warpriest of an idea, and spends time thinking about what powers they might need to be able to persevere to gain spells, rather than praying?

I'd imagine that means you don't have a favoured weapon, though.

I also know the pain of having a hard time choosing what to play, but to help get over it and proceed, I tend to randomise either the class and or race.

I went ahead and added the Black Blade weapon under a spoiler. Please note that a Magus doesn't actually receive the sentient weapon until level 3, so until that point it is non-magical and a role-playing device (the stats are those for a level 3 Magus Black Blade). However, since I'm trying to 'unlock' the weapon's abilities by helping it accomplish its goals, it probably works great to have it growing in power.

If selected, I would hope that the blade has its own agenda, and would be happy if you played it as an NPC (to whatever extent you want).

I implied my purpose at the protest in my background, but I'm definitely: Tagging Along (with a sentient weapon).

Hello, The Lion Cleric here with my submission, Tasha (also known as 'That annoying woman that asks questions'), a writer, a sort-of-a-journalist and satirist. And a caravan guard, since those bills aren't going to pay themselves.

I've had a couple of ideas regarding the class, considering an investigator, bard or anything but a fighter is what people usually think of when they hear writer, but I decided that she's not a very good writer, and more like someone who does is as a hobby. Granted, with the skills and advancements, she'll become better.

So, let me know what you think! I'm not too set on the archery, actually, that was just an afterthought. (And arrows with parchment on them appearing as a part of the rebellion are cool!) The general idea was just an average Jane that does searching and sleuthing.

Ooh. I like her. Nice backstory, little used trait showing up, and an interesting step away from the expected. If you would like a recommendation for a build, I can give you my input if you would like it.

So long as you do not modify after the deadline, mod away. Otherwise, he's good for consideration.

Probably should've done that myself at the start... Take some pat points, Lonnie. Pat points will be the Hero Points of this campaign. Every time the GM pats you on the head in approval, you gain a Hero Point lol XD

Addi Quillicus wrote:

After looking through the player's guide, I've decided to modify Addi's reason to be at the protest to make it fit a little better.

While he was passing through Kintargo Addi saw a poster for the theatre. Deciding it was worth the extra gold pieces to see something he'd never before, he went in, and that it where he saw Shensen. Addi instantly fell in love, and began to come to every showing he could, just so that he could see the actress perform, and he would often stay after the show just so that he would be able to greet her.

After several weeks of this, he eventually put on his courage, slicked back his hair, and grabbed some flowers so that he would be able to ask the woman to dinner after her performance. But alas, as the curtains rose, his hopes fell as he saw that she was not onstage. After the play was finished he asked around to the other actors, where that beautiful Shensen was, but the only answer he got was that no one knew. There was one older fellow that pulled Addi aside and let him know about the protest the next week, and that he would likely be able to find his idol among the crowd.

Change is approved and noted. Also, if you get in, good luck winning the heart of that lady. Just as a heads up, rumor has it she can be stone faced in private. XP

May I present Demari Anuli, LG Asmodean Advocate. Yeah, you heard me right. Hailing from the Southern Garundi nation of Holomog, where they tend to find the seeds of virtue in the darkest soils, Demari is a what is known as a pact servant, someone who worships Asmodeus not as a god of evil but merely one of structure and law, not unlike Abadar (and has the trait that allows him to do so mechanically). At a young age, the half-orc left his home and clan to experience more of the world, and ended up studying the law in Taldor and then in Cheliax. Though technically not an ordained priest of the Church, his early studies of theology have granted him divine magic all the same. Since earning his barrister's license, he's moved to Kintargo to practice the law, often serving as a pro-bono or discounted attorney for those who can't afford better. Though Demari loves the law, and respects the laws of the land even if he doesn't agree with Thrune's embrace of the evil aspects of Asmodeus, he finds himself more and more discontent with Barzilai's rule. He joins the protest in order to gauge the feelings of his fellow citizens, and voice his own displeasure. After all, mint is his favorite tea.

Gotta say... pretty balls-y really. I like the concept and the backstory and wouldn't mind running a character like this through a game. However... that game probably won't be this one for a few reasons, the first of which is this.

Inappropriate Religions: While the worship of evil deities is not thematically appropriate for Hell’s Rebels, the worship of Asmodeus, Norgorber, Zon-Kuthon, and any of the archdevils, infernal dukes, malebranche, or whore queens in particular are incredibly unsuitable choices for this Adventure Path. If you wish your character to worship an evil deity, talk to your GM and, even then, do your best to avoid any of the faiths listed above. If you’re really eager to worship a devil or similar evil deity, you should set that character concept aside for now and bring it back for the next Adventure Path, Hell’s Vengeance.

Secondly, as a player and GM, I can tell you that you are going to be doing things that Asmodeus will be shaking his head at. While in-fighting amongst his flock is no concern of his, losing influence in territory under his control is. As a rebel, you are actively trying to kick Thrune, and by extension Asmodeus, out of power in Kintargo (and potentially Ravounel). Loosening his grip like that is going to end up making you an ex-cleric of Asmodeus before the adventure is out. I hate to say it, I really do, but your character may not be appropriate for the campaign. I'm sorry. I feel terrible about letting an interesting concept go now. :(

If you'll let him make just noisemakers using 1/10 the powder and if you'll let him use the 10% cost for Black Powder that the Gunsmithing Feat gives then he can make a firecracker for 1cp and sell them for 2cp.

If chosen, I'd allow it.

Shame, I know. Sounds like an interesting concept, but alas, no archetype is available and Milani is not Paladin-able. Want to help, but don't know how. DX

Submission ver 2.0 and a little something else.

something else:
His body hidden beneath many cloaks, his face obscured by a mask and hood. The thieves standing in the alley began to know fear as their daggers continued to find nothing but air and his swords. Three of their members were already down cut by those wicked blades, one rushed him trying to tackle him but all he saw was sudden darkness as one of the cloaks blocked his vision and he felt a sharp pain at his neck and then knew no more as he slumped to the ground.

The wolf stopped his dizzying spin for a backhand slash that cut the wrist of another thief causing him to drop his dagger along with the hand holding it. His other hand easily deflecting the blade of the remaining man the blade then piercing his chest.

He turns to the only living thief the one whose hand he removed.

"I know Thrune sent you to cause unrest, you tell your devil kissing bosses this is my city. Tell them this city belongs to the Wolf and I'll hunt anyone down who hurts it."

He says before vaulting the the cities rooftops disappearing into the night.

Five things about The PCs background
1. Zero was trained as an assassin by the order of the rack.

3. His mother sold him into slavery where he was picked up by the rack.
4. He met Rosalina by accident when walking through a market he caught the scent of her perfume booth and felt emotions well up he never knew he possessed.
5. His next mission was to be the second for a simple assassination, as soon as he arrived he knew where he was the shop of the perfume lady. He knew he couldn't kill her or allow another to harm her so he slew his partner and after letting her know what was going on they burned the building down with three bodies inside leaving Egorian for Kintargo

Two PC Goals
1. Protect Rosalina and her dream of equality in Cheliax
2. Destroying hellknights and all who are allied with Thrunefor twisting him as a child

Two PC Secrets [One known/one unknown]
1. His true name is Roth'ves'yk
2. His ancestry runs along both infernal and diabolical lines in hopes of creating a backdoor to the material plane.

Three People the PC knows [2 friends 1 enemy]
1. Rosalina Dantes his wife and best friend
2.
3. The Master the one who trained him and twisted him a nameless inquisitor of Asmodeus

Three Memories
1. Of holding his mother's hand in confusion as a man with greasy black hair handed her coins and grabbed him by the shoulder pulling him away.
2. His first kill and how hard it was to remove the bloodstains from his hands almost like it had stained his soul
3. The scent of roses as he sits with Rosalina in their home

Alright, Master Elodin here with his submission of his eventual Hellknight Signifier/Enforcer. Background and character sheet are in the profile. I left some room for connections to one or more of the PCs and possibly some NPCs in town.

I knew where I was headed with this guy. Just took me a while of how to figure out how I wanted to get there. I think the only thing I have left to do is some equipment (which I find boring but of course necessary).
Thanks in advance for consideration!

As far as crunch goes, Arno is caster cleric looking to PrC into Signifier with a focus on and Buffing and Summoning.

Glad to be of help GM. Just trying to make sure potential teammates are well suited to the adventure, no head pats necessary.

I've added and revised the background and description of Tasha, and added a reason for the protest. I don't think her mother would be involved with the Silver Ravens, though I'd be curious what she'd be doing in post-Bainilus Kintargo.

I've also added what I imagine is the first Crier after Thrune became Lord-Mayor, and I quite like writing a revolutionary pamphlet/newspaper. Would quite like to continue writing that up as the events unfold. (and if I'm chosen, of course.)

1 person marked this as a favorite.

A quick explanation on the name, since someone is bound to recognize it: recently while playing a homebrew module set in Irrisen, my winter witch character, in an effort to conceal her Jadwiga status, had to make up a new last name, which I hadn't expected to need to do, so I said the first thing that popped into my head. Since I'd just rewatched Fate/zero, that first thing was Einsbern. She made her bluff, we discussed it, and agreed no one could know there was no such family of magic users if I created them for my next full casting character.

For your consideration, Luna von Einsbern, master of summoning magics, sharp-tongued satirist and political comedienne. Born out of wedlock to the third, magically talentless daughter of the wealthy Taldan Einsbern family from a brief fling with an elven Pathfinder, Luna never could've had a chance at an easy life. She and her mother were never formally disowned, but it was made clear from the second the pregnancy was announced that they would inherit nothing on the deaths of Luna's grandparents, and would be allowed to live on the estate at the mercy of her Uncle Rodrick. Looked down on by the adults in her life and picked on by her cousins (both older and slightly younger, as she aged less quickly than them), Luna found that her greatest defense was her sharp wit and biting words. Any time someone spoke to her maliciously (because they never hit her, no matter how much her attitude tempted them) she would fire back, sometimes with a jarring quip and others with a scathing diatribe. It helped that among her generation of the family she was easily the most magically talented, excelling in conjurations and summoning magic past the point of wizardry and well into arcanism.

In a more normal family environment both Luna's precociousness and her magical talents may have been encouraged, but among the Einsberns, Luna was a disinherited half-breed bastard child and therefore not permitted to shine above the rest. Luna's aunts, uncles, grandparents and cousins unloaded endless punishments and restrictions on her to no avail. At one point, when she was 16, she was actually forbidden from studying magic, but by this point she had learned how to summon an invisible servitor to retrieve books for her and continued to learn in secret.

Finally the day came that Luna turned 20, marking her as formally of age for her race. She thanked her mother for doing her best, unleashed a torrent of subtle and well crafted jabs at the rest of her family, and left, bringing with her only her spellbook and the clothes on her back.

After a few years of traveling, she found herself in Kintargo, a city entirely to her liking. Generally tolerant if you didn't have devil's blood, supportive of the arts, and mildly accepting of cultural and political criticism as long as you weren't too overt about it. And it would've stayed that way if a certain humorless dick hadn't taken over the city and silenced Luna out of sheer fear for her own safety. While the thought has occurred for her to just leave, it was immediately squashed down by the assertion that this was her city now damnit, and an ass like Barzilai Thrune isn't going to drive her from her new home.

Mechanically, Luna will be an arcanist with the occultist archetype, taking the gifted satirist trait. She will be protesting the government.

Equipment and everything else should be good now.

Applying with Doreen Makgree, another vigilante...

I still have to write down her backstory, but the gist of it is that she's a noble first-born daughter of a minor house of Kintargo, with an arranged marriage coming her way (to one of the Thrune-aligned big houses). Though she is against the Thrune government, she plays along, and is seemingly a trustworthy and upstanding member of the nobility. That's her social persona.

Her vigilante persona, however, is part of the Bellflower Network, where she is known as "Burrows". She helps free the halfling slaves and smuggle them out of Cheliax. Her reason for being in the protest is to meet a contact.

Alliszah has been updated a bit in order to flesh out her statblock and story. I'm still torn between witch and occultist, but either way she'll be working primarily with enchantment magic to reflect the fiendish source of her abilities (as well as to create some roleplaying fuel, using at best creepy abilities for the cause of good). Investment in Intimidate will help give her some staying power when spells run low, and I'm looking at possibly building toward Dazzling Display. Of course, there'll also be some hellfire involved for times when enchantment doesn't work. ;)

She's going to the protest to stay up on current events, and to try and build trust with her former pet, the pseudodragon Lydir.

Loads of good submissions coming in now! I like how much variety there is in the vigilantes, it's such a versatile class.

Love me some vigilante. I'm sorely tempted to make one and submit them, except there's so many already. XD As is right and proper for this game, of course. It'd be easy to do an all-vigilante party on this one.

I'd thought about submitting a vigilante too, seeking vengeance for the murder of his father at the hands of the Barzillai's thugs using Fist of the Avenger to punch people off buildings with gauntlets, but I went with the bolt ace instead as I liked the internal conflict between his internal desire for law and his desire to help people via a chaotic rebellion.

An all vigilante party would be great!

Background:

Background
Greetings, traveler! I am Kaltan Magheros. Remember my name, because in time it will be written on scrolls and sung by bards throughout the Known and Unknown world!

But right now, my way of life is more humble. Let us say, I wear many hats. During the day, I can be found in the Veritas Market showing off my moves or if I'm in a more contemplative mood, telling fortunes; at night I'll be at Aria Park in Jarvis End. Though my performance might look like that of a common tumbler, the more astute will see the little nuances and understand more into it. Oh yes, you noticed the queen card turned into a witch? You must be mistaken! But I can see you are indeed are sharp eyed!

If you do not find me in the markets, then you should know that I am also much in demand for performances. (No, there is no truth that a jail cell is my second home.) You might have seen me on the Aulamaxa and Sarini estates. No, not in the main cast, but perhaps in the background, tumbling and doing cartwheels, or someone for the ladies to look at. Do you recall how Dame Orleana, second only to Shenshen, suddenly burst out of her dress during The Griffin's Taming? I improvised a performance and spins to distract the audience while she changed into a new costume. It was exhausting but well worth it. How the audience applauded my efforts at the end! They could hear me all over Cheliax!

Some call me superstitious, but one must heed the ways of those who control our fates. I pat a black cat that would cross my path and always kiss a rabbit's foot before I attempt a tightrope walk. Give the Gods their proper attention and they shall endeavour to take care of you, I say.

Moving in such varied social circles has enabled me to gather quite a bit of information. The ladies of Aulamaxa with their fine bosoms are so well-versed in opera and what people think of them. Of course, performing front and center at parties allows one to view who or what is wearing, and when the jewelry doesn't quite fit the wearer, there might be the chance to move it to a new ear or neck. If the guilds do not pay for the information, then I may attempt to procure these items on my own.

Oh do you hear that? It appears it is my time to leave. So should you be looking for information, someone skilled with a rapier, or someone with a talent for acquiring information, you know where to look for me. But now I must head for the protest; since Barzillal is so devoid of fun one must try even harder to create it. Hopefully those at the protest will still offer a busker a coin or two, and if not, well we'll see if there are other ways to obtain some payment for the tough days ahead. But we must struggle for the return of art and fun, else what is the point of our existence?

Description
Kaltan is a handsome looking fellow with a tidy goatee and a trim physique. He has green eyes and black hair, and smells of lavender. When performing he is dressed in a bright red outfit that allows him to move elegantly and precisely. He has a wardrobe of clothes thrown out by an acting troupe, and a collection of hats that range from horrendously ugly to highly portentious, including one that looks like a birdcage.

SOLDIER-1st with my my tiefling slayer. Finally done with the character sheet (check the profile). Will have backstory up soon (for a loose definition of such).

I had a Question about turning my character from a Irori inquisitor to a Heretic Asmodeus inquisitor. with Ex-Asmodeus trait. How would you feel about that I did rough changing on the story I did have.

Nox's Sister.

Ex-Inquisitors
An inquisitor who slips into corruption or changes to a prohibited alignment loses all spells and the judgment ability. She cannot thereafter gain levels as an inquisitor until she atones (see the atonement spell description). An inquisitor who becomes an ex-inquisitor can, with the GM’s permission, take the heretic archetype, replacing her class abilities with the appropriate archetype abilities. If the character atones or joins a different faith, she loses her heretic abilities and regains her previous inquisitor class abilities.

I was just going to start off as Heretic Asmodeus inquisitor and keep it for the whole campaign. (I don't want to lose the heretics abilities)and just leveling as a heretic of the church. If I can pray to Milani after finding a worshiper. then just keep the heretic archetype I would like to do that. Where I would be known as a Asmodeon heretic that worships Milani.

Oh, I like the heretic idea. Very good thematic choice, as well as a rarely seen archetype.

Character is finished, with bacsktory and all!

Here is my submission for this game Lazur Anil. Lazur is ann investigator. Thank you for your consideration and running the game. If you have any thoughts or questions please let me know.

Dotting interest. One of the few APs that I know almost nothing about, aside from that it has a bit more of an "intrigue" focus than other APs.

Quick question for GM SilentSage: Do you mind folks using an archetype but changing up some of the flavor? I'm interested in the Pai Zin Practitioner Oracle Archetype, but the flavor of the archetype is much more Tien-focused, which clashes a bit with the Chelaxian theme of the AP. I'm thinking of making a character that uses both divine and alchemical remedies in a vague analogue to real world doctors (or perhaps a plague doctor in this case), but would like to make sure that isn't too far-fetched before constructing a character based on that concept.

Thanks in advance for your time!

Not a bad choice mechanically. Can't wait to see the backstory.

While I could allow you to be related to Nox (You wouldn't know her dealings and conditions set upon her by Barzalli though. I'm not that generous.), I believe that, while an interesting concept, I have to turn the idea away. Along with the reasons stated for Fedora's Asmodean character, the flavor text of the Heretic Archetype is also playing a part here.

HERETIC (ARCHETYPE)

While all inquisitors hunt the enemies of the faith, sometimes, either through political maneuvering by her enemies or an unyielding tenacity that breaks her faith’s basic tenets, an inquisitor can find herself a heretic. Still unyielding in her cause, these heretics are accustomed to using guile and deception to hide themselves and their activities while they continue to hunt their enemies.

To me, this says that at the end of the day, being a Heretic Inquisitor of Asmodeus is still being an Inquisitor of Asmodeus. Even if you're not in his favor and don't follow his basic tenants and principles, you are still compelled to do his dirty work and bring law and order to the land. You still worship him, even if it's not a traditional sense that allows you to gain spells.

As much as it pains me to say it... gonna have to ax the idea and deem it inappropriate for the campaign. I already turned down one interesting Asmodean idea. It would look hypocritical of me to just accept another at the drop of a hat.

You can do that. Heck, you can have him trained by a tian immigrant if you wanted to. Just give me a good backstory and you'll be golden.

After some more thought, would you be ok with a Demon-Sworn Witch Heroes of the Darklands? So basically a character tied to a demon lord through a single desperate act and who, at least in my character's case, would want nothing more than to reverse the pact.

The basic idea is the character was a serving girl in the bar that was burned down during the Night of Ashes who already dabbled in witchcraft. If allowed she'd be a Changeling.

How she became demon sworn:
As the fire started she was in a storeroom in the back with the door closed. As a result she could see and smell the smoke coming from under the door before the fire actually breached the room. She was trapped and keenly aware she was going to die there. Initially she simply started praying to Milani, her patron goddess but as the first flames licked the inside of the door she got more desperate. She wanted to live and her prayers started to drift elsewhere. First to the other good gods and then to Pharasma. None of them answered. Even the evil gods seemed to ignore her pleas.

Desperate for any help she started calling upon anyone willing to come to her aid, promising anything just to get her out of there alive. Initially nothing happened but then the wall shifted behind her, opening a passage that hadn't been there before. She got up and ran in, the wall quickly closing behind her. Not knowing where she was she simply ran through the maze-like halls only to find a closed door. As she grabbed the handle to open the door it burned her hand. When she looked at her hand there was a rune seared into it and she instinctively knew what it meant. Whoever or whatever saved her, owned her now. When she touched the handle again it was cool to the touch and as she opened the door she found herself in an alleyway a few streets away from the bar.

Since that day she had been obsessively trying to figure out who she made a deal with and how she might get out of it. The first answer was relatively easy to find as the rune on her hand was the abyssal sign of Baphomet. She started wearing gloves once she knew that. The second answer was much harder to find and so far she hasn't had in luck. She was forced to stop anyway as Thrune started cracking down harder on the city and if she was discovered, branded by a demon lord, she'd be executed on the spot and her soul would truly be lost.

She was at home when there came a knocking at the door. When she opened it there stood a young boy asking her her name. When she answered he handed her a letter. Someone knew she was a survivor of the fire at the bar and that she'd sympathise with a possible rebellion against Thrune. He wanted to meet, publicly and the letter told her where. Initially she didn't want to go but then decided she had nothing to lose. If it was a trap, and she couldn't see how, she was dead. If it wasn't all she could do at home is wait for them to figure out and then she'd be dead anyway. Better to take a shot at escaping that fate even if only to buy her more time to figure out how to escape the fate of her immortal soul.

Her demon's interest in my character:
Baphomet is the lord of conspiracies and secret societies and that alone makes him like the whole secret rebellion. In addition the rebellion stands to hurt Asmodeus's interests on Golarion and Lamashtu, Baphomet's lover, hates the infernal god. So if Baphomet can show her that he was somehow involved with striking at Asmodeus she might be pleased. And even if the rebellion failed he'd still have had some entertainment and a desperate soul to toy with.

She have the Pattern Seeker trait and would be at the protest to meet a contact.

EDIT: Just to be clear, she'd be Chaotic Good

Dotting with Johann Sharpe, Inquisitor of Apsu and aspiring dragon hunter eager to find (and, if possible, kill) the wicked dragons Adrakash, Ithanothaur, and Rivozair in the Wayfinder's name. Anyone else he encounters along his way that's chaotic (and to a lesser extent, evil) may also find themselves on the business end of his quarterstaff. His reason for attending the protest is to take a stand against Barzillai's seizure of power and make sure things don't spiral out of control.

I thought I should point out after first level I'll be going mesmerist the rest of the way. Focusing on midi reaction and enchantments.

I'll finally commit to silksworn occultist for Alliszah's class - I'm way too attached to the idea of her unknowingly gaining her power from her aunt's profane gift not to go with it. :) Surprisingly, she's actually ended up as a passable party face, between her enchantment resonant power and a probably-imprudent investment of point buy points to overcome her Charisma penalty. A couple of quick things:

A silksworn's implements:

Rather than having dedicated implements, a silksworn gains their power by wearing appropriately expensive clothing in particular areas of the body. I'm keeping the flavor of her aunt's ring being one of them to fit with the cabal devil's witch token ability, but technically it can be anything. At this point, I'm assuming the signet ring I received from my trait is adequate to count as one of these (she wears it on a chain around her neck, so it would be her enchantment "implement"). Currently I am assuming I will need to pay for the rest of her "implements" (and her sheet reflects such), but the noble's outfit from her trait is actually sufficiently valuable to count as seven other "implements". Would you let the noble's outfit be sufficient to qualify, or will the other clothing items need to be purchased?

EDIT: Never mind. The noble's outfit says it should be accompanied by 100gp of accessories in order to be appropriate, so I'll just buy a full suite of fancy accessories and use those as my "implements". Problem solved. :)

Silksworn implements and panoplies:

I was looking at the panoplies available to the occultist, and the Performer's Accoutrements in particular had some abilities that I'd love for Alliszah to be able to pick up. (When I say "some", I mean every. Single. One. They're perfect.) However, as part of the panoply's design, it requires the occultist to use specific implements, a mask and a musical instrument. Since I don't use traditional implements as such, would you count wearing the appropriate items and knowing the appropriate schools as adequate for learning the panoply, or would panoplies be ruled out for her? I completely understand whichever way you rule it, but I'd like to be able to learn that panoply if I can.

Do let me know if I've missed anyone, or if you have a CS I haven't linked. I forgot to copy the code last time, which led to some serious gumshoeing around the recruitment thread, so I might've missed someone's CS.

Quick note, Tasha - as an occultist, Alliszah does actually have 3/4 BAB. (If you want to keep her where she is, though, I get it. She'll play a lot like a slightly sturdier wizard, so keeping her there might be a better description of her party role.)

Yup, noticed that and changed it. I haven't yet played any of the Occult classes, so I don't know them so well!

I'd considered doing it in Martial/Arcane/Divine/Skilled, but when you do it that way, it gets confising when archetypes start getting involved (Dawnflower Bards, Vivisectionists, Inquisitors, etc.)

That's a pretty damn long list of applicants, if I say so myself.

Tasha Valenti wrote:

APs do tend to get long lists of applicants, and Hell's Rebels is one of the more popular ones from what I can tell. (For good reason.)

The competition is getting pretty steep now! I've never applied for an AP like this, with so many applicants. Getting quite nervous!

Steep competition makes for better teammates if you get in. Can't wait to see the group at the end of this.

Ok ty, I will be changing my concept.

Ok, backstory is up. It's kinda vague there near the end, so you can work in whatever elements you need to as GM.

Best part about Vigilante is that they can be either a full attack tank with stealth or a warlock ranged spellcaster, or even the Zelot and basically a Divine stealth. An entire party can be made of Vigilante.

I'd be ok with a Changeling, sure. Demon-sworn Witch is a bit more iffy. Mechanically, your bonus spells are going to be near useless in your campaign since you're going to be fighting other evil people. Be better for you if it targeted lawful creatures, but that doesn't seem to be the case. The hex thing isn't so bad though, so that's a plus.

Flavor-wise, your eventual quasit companion could raise some eyebrows among from your fellow rebels, even if it does follow your every command. The best I can judge it right now is a maybe since I need to head to work soon.

I'm just as nervous. While you wait, I'm weeding through the applicants and have to say who did and didn't make my cut. It's not going to be easy, but I hope it will be worth it.

Consider yourself approved. Nice bit a fluff. I can find ways to work with it. I'm already finding work arounds and custom elements to surprise the people who know OOC what they're getting into.

I understand the spells will be useless almost all of the time. Personally I think that is the point, they are a mechanical trade off for the archetype. I still get the other half of the normal patron spells as well though.

As for the Quasit, I see how that can be an issue. Do keep in mind though that it can both be permanently invisible and it can shape change to take a more acceptable shape. The biggest problem would actually be those who witness it's arrival, though the fact my character would be just as shocked and appalled as they are probably helps.

Completed new character:

Introducing Constable Vascor!, included in his background is the rules to Bribing a constable of cheliax...... if he is working.

Background:
Orazio was once a valued member of the Order of the Chain hunting down outlaws in the surrounding regions; killing monsters and protecting the innocent citizens of Chelaxia. Quickly rising through the ranks one outlaw at a time and turning them in to the local prisons to face sentencing, anything to get ahead. Not from any sense civic duty, Gods Forbid, he does it to feel special and for the glory gained. Until one day he ran across records that were following the exploits of a serial killer in Kintargo by the name of the Temple hill slasher. Orazio had to take a extended leave from the order to pursue a criminal so far from where the Order was based, maybe one day joining them again, or maybe not. Hunting him down with his partner he eventually caught up with him in the dirty streets of Kintargo. In the ensuing fight however, his partner was killed. (Some of his fellow constables whisper that he was responsible for the death and not the good professor, only Orazio and Professor Mangvhune know for sure and one is dead.) Afterwards his reputation started to rise however his Aggressive tactics and his abrasive personality helped eventually made him fade into memory. Joining the dotteri for a short time in Kintargo. He eventually had to leave after having a run in with one of his sergeants. Orazio is looking for something to bring him back into the spotlight. Orazio has no problem charging people to look the other way rather than dealing with the eventual paperwork. Where is the Glory in That!

Bribes in cheliax:

How to offer a bribe Bribes are not illegal in Cheliax. In fact, the Disciplines specifically encourage it. The eponymous codex containing the nation’s laws lays out a specific formula for offering and accepting a bribe to avoid punishment for crime or infractions, and failing to follow the proper steps can result in a significantly worse punishment than failing to offer one at all. Ironically, the charge for this is “attempted corruption of a public official.” Officials taking bribes must pass a certain percentage to their superiors—withholding bribes results in serious disciplinary action. The first step is determining how much the accused can pay. Certain crimes require a minimum payment to look the other way, and the most serious crimes—capital crimes, for the most part—are well beyond the reach of the lowest classes, though city guards may succumb to the temptation to take the highest inducement the accused can pay. Revolutionaries and radicals shriek that this system favors the rich and the powerful; ordinary citizens consider it the way things should be; after all, when they become wealthy, they want the perquisites that come with power (never mind that their chances of ever growing wealthy are slim to none). The next calculation is how much to pay for the alleged offense, and to whom to pay it. Offering too little is insulting, though it can reduce the severity of the charges without making them disappear. Offering too much is considered a far graver insult to the officer or magistrate. Offering it to a Hellknight is an invitation to a beating. Next comes the offer. One cannot simply throw money at an officer and walk away; this is a careful dance, delicately negotiated without saying the word “bribe.” Offering to donate to the officer’s favorite charity or simply asking the amount of the fine and then offering to pay it on the spot are the customary methods. Be careful, though: some officers and magistrates find the offer of a bribe an insult to their integrity. Further, it is important to note that bribes are for crime and vice; offering an official a bribe to hurry government business implies that the government is lax and inefficient, and is a crime on par with blasphemy. Below are several common offenses and the recommended bribes associated with them.
Offense Bribe Public Lewdness 5 cp–10 gp Breaking the Peace 1 sp–25 gp Larceny (depending on severity) 5 sp–100 gp Assault 10 sp–50 gp Murder (depending on victim) 200–20,000 gp Blasphemy 1,000–10,000 gp

Ok... gotta stop you before it's too late. Since the player's guide doesn't mention this at all, I'll need to tell that you have a problem with your backstory. Professor Mangvhune ,aka the Temple Hill Slasher, died 100 years before the start of the story. So, unless you're more than 100 years old... I'm afraid that won't work. Sorry, pal.

Oh, sh*t. Sorry. I'd allow it so long as you met the material requirements of the mask and instrument.

I'd already planned on a mask being one of my "implements" anyway, so that's no problem. It's the instrument that gets a bit sticky, since it wouldn't technically be an implement for me, as my expensive clothing acts as my implements. So basically I can't meet the requirement for the implements unless I find an instrument that also counts as clothing/a wearable item. And somehow I don't think this quite fits the tone of the game. ;) I'll see if I can come up with something, but I don't want to stretch it too far - if I don't think of something that fits comfortably within both definitions I'll just skip taking the panoply.

EDIT: Does a pendant ocarina seem like a fair meeting point? :) Also, now I want a real one for me.
