Also, I have to say that the 'sharp as a marble' line literally (literally literally) made me spill beer over my keyboard. Until today, I didn't think that was a thing that actually occured. Kudos to you, and no offense to Johann!
It was hilarious. I wish I was just as witty... but my character probably wishes Felinder'd just drop unconscious already.

Way to give the GM motivation ;)
As for Arno and Lonnie, I had proposed Lonnie and Johann as possibilities, but we ended up going with Johann as friends, though I agree with Lonnie, that they could very well likely know each other.

Not sure how intelligent hellhounds are, but Tasha's being her usual "charming" self.
I should really consider taking the Antagonize feat, but most people (including myself) tend to frown on it for being too computer-game-y.
I said Tasha's moving back, but I didn't want to move Lonnie - I suggest we move back, somewhere around the bench, and start retreating as fast as we can - three of us are wearing heavier armour, so we can't sprint away as the rest.

Hey, congratulations! I remember when I was graduating high school, in the distant 2012, when giants and mammoths roamed the lands...
Does that make me the old man of the group? I graduated in 2001.
Seriously though, super congrats to IRL accomplishment. That's important stuff right there!

Sorry everyone, my 87 year old father in law was admitted to the hospital last night for dehydration. We just drove down to be with him. I'll get something up later tonight.
Isabelle D'Sarini |
Thank you all. My father in law was discharged, after getting topped off with fluids, late yesterday afternoon and is now home resting comfortably.

Good to hear! Also, thanks for the update. Very gracious of you.

Plan seems solid to me! Not sure if Isabelle is trying to cast the spell without them noticing, though, that could ruin the Bluff plan, but the Bluff could also help them distract them long enough for it to take place.
I'll go ahead and try and help Zelinder with my piddly Bluff, I suppose.

If they notice the spell, Felinder will claim it's a new Dottari policy to have a non-lethal detainment focused spell prepared in the case of dealing with a potentially violent situation. So long as they keep calm, nothing will happen, but if they react hostily, the "non-lethal" part is null and void.

I like the way you think Zelix.

I'm assuming that Rexus and Isabelle might know each other or at least know about one another.

Just getting something up. Servers have been about as successful as the Thrune government these past couple of days, so I can imagine why most games haven't picked up yet!

It's a case of know of. If you wish for more information on other nobility you may know in the future due to your experiences, PM me so I can get you the relevant info.
Same applies for the rest of you and your experiences.

Heh. I have similar vices, truth be told.
I suggest we head for Lonnie's house (so he can establish a bit, too), for the night, and from then on, possibly try and settle an HQ in the Nidalese Embassy. Not that we'll be leading any sort of rebellion, of course.

Wholeheartedly agreed.

Seeing as Lonnie knows the way, he'll lead the group along in his next post. Otherwise, you'll be lead straight to the dark, empty embassy. :3

Again my apologies, things have been a little crazy right now. Yesterday we received the test results from when my Father in Law was in the hospital and it's been determined he has colon cancer. Given his age and state of health we are consulting with his doctors on the best course of treatment. Surgery, while an option, is risky and he may not survive the operation.
Needless to say things are quite up in the air right now so if need be please feel free to bot me until such time as I can devote more attention to the game.
Thanks.

S***, dude. Someone close to me is having a cancer scare themselves, so I realize you need to focus on family. I will respect your wishes. You have my deepest sympathies and best wishes for the best possible things to happen in these circumstances.

Sorry for my lateness.
Isabelle, sorry to hear about your father-in-law. I sincerely hope he recovers. My grandfather had two heart attacks, one of them a year ago.
GM, Sorry to hear you've been laid off. I am on the prowl for a job as well, so good luck there!
Isabelle D'Sarini |
Thank you everyone for you patience while my family and I get things sorted out. My Father in Law has met with both his primary physician and an oncologist in the last couple of weeks. One has said that his heart is not strong enough for surgery while the other says he's not strong enough for chemotherapy. So it appears the best course of treatment is no treatment at this time.
There are still a couple of more doctors visits scheduled during the coming weeks but I feel that things have settled down enough after the initial scare that I can begin to start posting again on a regular basis.
Again I apologize if my absence has caused any undue problems and look forward to getting some semblance of normalcy back.
Thank you,
Mike

I hope everything goes well with your father in law. Fingers crossed that he gets well soon!
And I understand, GM, no worries at all, being jobless sucks a lot. :(
GM SilentSage |
Hey guys, I'm working two 13 hour shifts with 10 hours between them for the next two days, so I might be patchy regarding posts! Just warning!
Considering all the other IRL things the group is dealing with right now, I don't have a problem with things slowing down as long as posts can keep coming at some pace.
Tasha Valenti |
I'm back, although I feel like I want to sleep for about a year. I'm definitely in for being a rebellious element, even if Tasha's ideas might be a bit too idealistic. Still, there is a reason political jokes were banned in the Soviet Union. However, considering some of those are still being re-told even 26 years later, it's safe to say that's one way to not crush people's spirits.
I don't know how 'sandboxy' the AP is, but if there are opportunities, I could definitely suggest some ideas of how to mock the regime, and generally try and find a middle ground between achieving anti-government goals via force (since combat is important for an RPG), and finding a way to turn Thrune into a massive joke.
Speaking of which, after I'm back tonight, I'll get to writing another Crier article.
Isabelle D'Sarini |
Hey everyone,
I wanted to say I'm sorry but I'm going to drop out of this game. With all the craziness going on in my personal life right now I've found that I don't have the time to properly devote to keeping up with a lot of my games and so some of them have to go.
Thank you GM SilentSage for inviting me and for stepping up and running this game. I wish you and all the remaining players the best of luck.
Thanks,
Mike
Tasha Valenti |
I'm really sorry to hear that. I sincerely hope everything gets back in track soon, and all the best! I, for one, would have no problem having you back, if and when you have the time!
