Chops him in half.
You're hasted as well, so you can move towards the clot of six hobgoblins fighting the dire wolf, or toward the Amber fop that's going swords with Gittik."Zounds!!! Well, I'll need another champion!" says the Amber dude.
[edit] the first attack killt him; if you wanna move you can...
I won't horn in on Gittik's action. Move to the 6 hobbos.
dungeonmaster heathy |
Meh...the hobs attack, then it's round three; Riese can pop two attacks off if he wants to.
hob's at a8, b8, c8, d9, d10, and c11; trying to pwn the dire wolf at bc9-10.
all six of them swing at the wolf, and three hit with axes and sword, but it just. Won't. Fall.
ROUND 3!!!!!
Elgan Dreadwood |
Elgan, still in canine predator form, is in a fine frenzy. With a howl, he dashes along the wall, and with a flying leap rips into one of the Hobs trying to surround his summoned friend.
Move along the wall to A7? attack the hob at A8.
Elgan's attack: (1d20+6=17, 1d6+3=5)
The Dire wolf, not to be outdone and refusing to be intimidated by things that look like a cross between a wolf and a goblin, tries to make yet more hob-gob-kibble,...
Dire wolf attacks: Bite/Dmg/Trip (1d20+11=14, 1d8+10=15, 1d20+11=24)
And with the speed granted by the wizard's haste spell, goes back for seconds,...
Dire wolf Haste attack: Bite/dmg/trip (1d20+11=24, 1d8+10=17, 1d20+11=31)
Riese's Altered Form |
Sorry guys, Thanksgiving and all has me really behind on stuff. Here's a few rolls to keep combat rolling if I get too tied up. How many rays does the wand fire with one charge?
Riese fires off indiscriminately with the wand of Fiery Death, trying for important targets firstly and closer targets secondly.
1d20 7=20 ranged touch, 4d6=14 damage, 1d20 7=24 ranged touch, 4d6=14 damage, 1d20 7=14 ranged touch, 4d6=9 damage, 1d20 7=18 ranged touch, 4d6=19 damage.
Altai Iscarni |
Fan-f~@*ing-tastic... I completed the level up - and then the site crashes...
IN short: New spells are Fireball and Fly, new feat is Craft Magic Arms And Armour, most skill points are spent on getting Knowledge (the planes) up to full rank. I've rememorised new spells - however, for the current encounter, I'm essentially all out of magic, so they do not take effect until we rest.
Altai Iscarni |
Dang! Gittik's turned into a meat-grinding death maching! As for loot, how about this distribution:
Altai: Bracers +1
Beldan: Chain shirt +2, Keen rapier +1
Elgan: Gittik's Ring of protection +1
Gittik: Small shocking kukri +1, Ring of protection +2, gives his Ring of protection +1 to Elgan
Riese: Gloves of dex +2 (better AC, helps with ranged touch attacks)
Stig: Ring of protection +1
5000/6=833 gold and 3 silver each.
Altai looks on uncomfortably as the ghoul housekeepers tidy up the room. He turns to his nameless guide. "So... If this was Jag-Doom's clone, where's the real goblin messiah?"
dungeonmaster heathy |
"Doom in the chapel, with the magen vat. Doom's Skullwand friends there too...
I think Resurrection man was there, but he went somewhere else.
There's ways to other here and now's in this Chateau, and in the ghoul tunnels. Anywhere or when you come upon ghoultunnels, there might be ways to other worlds in them.
Just....gotta know how."
Altai Iscarni |
"Want to go and get them?" Altai looks at Riese and Elgan. "How are you guys doing on your eldritch energies?"
After looking over my character sheet, I still have Arcane turmoil, Invisibility, Enlarge person and Shiled memorised. Not much for blasting, but I have a ton of scrolls for that.
dungeonmaster heathy |
"I are....Or. I am Speaker-to-Baldapes."
He enters the room. He's tall, lithe; he's crouched. His torso seems a little too long for his frame. He's a man with a panther's head, and a dishevelled coat of tiger-striped fur. He looks like he needs to groom, and his demeanor isn't necessarily fearful, but twitchy and fidgety. He doesn't handle any weapons, but a.....dirk of some kind hangs at the leather belt of the thong loincloth that is his only clothing.
dungeonmaster heathy |
"You kill.....Fightring Apedevil? And his....agents. Why? You work for another Apedevil?"
*aside*
Beldan looks over the keen rapier.
The pommel is a nice heavy-seeming chunk of amber girded in a latticework of steel. Within the sphere of amber, there's a tiny little man maybe 1 centimeter tall...
Altai Iscarni |
"You need to be a little more specific, Speaker. If by 'apedevil' you mean these guys" - Altai holds up Jag Doom's severed head - "the answer is yes and no. Yes, we killed the fighting apedevil, and, no, we do not work for any other apedevil. In fact, there's nothing we would like more than to kill more apedevils." He chucks the head to the catman. "Here. See for yourself. Or did you mean him?" Altai pokes the dead Amber with his boot.
dungeonmaster heathy |
"Treehorn is in this room I came out of. We camp here. I will go tell him what I saw, and see what he thinks.
Yes; there are many 'Ambers here (treeblood devilapes gets tiring).
I thought you served one of them."
He slowly edges towards the door; unless anyone tries to stop him, or tells him to hold on, he goes through it.
dungeonmaster heathy |
"The Amber, Richard...he has a room somewhere on this side of the Chateau; I don't know if he is around of late.
He has some of those panthermen as agents. He's enamored with felines of all sorts, as well as battle. His warlike nature befits the crueller side of the cat.
It is said that he seeks to become one."
Elgan Dreadwood |
<answering Altai> "A rest would be most welcome, but I am not much diminished spell-wise. I'm not sure that I will be able to call another such as this though." He says, petting the Dire Wolf before it fades and returns to where it was summoned from.
"I still have most of my basic prayers, and I feel energized for some reason not at home today & tomorrow, will update this weekend but wew ca continue if you are able. I wouldn't recommend a long rest in THIS place at any rate!"
<After catman leaves> "SOmething about him isn't,... quite right."
dungeonmaster heathy |
Altai almost steps, but sees the first step is a loo loo.
The southern half of the room is still floored; the north half ending where the door is looks over a 30 foot plunge to a room below of the same dimension as this "room three." The southern half of that room is covered by the floor above like an overhang cavern, and cookfires smoke rises up from down there.
The ceiling some time in the past collapsed on this room forming an artificial sunroom, and drizzle and fog are present.
There's a door on the opposite wall, 2 feet away from the remainder of the floor, as well as a door on the north wall with no floor under it.
The walls are covered with ivy. There's 3 of the catmen on the upper floor, one of them being 'Speaker. They have spears, and wear feathered capes. They have frighteningly painted stretched hide shields; faces of devilmen in raucous loud colors...
They consider you as you reach your foot with trepidation for the floor.
Beldan Vale |
Beldan shrugs in response to Altai’s query … but he’s kind of keeping his distance from the wizard, after seeing him all buddy-buddy with ghouls and such. “Sure … I suppose, why not? This place is weird enough that it just might be safe.”
He’s toying with Amber’s rapier. “Ouch! Hey, this thing is sharp! Oh … hey, there’s like a little person stuck in the gem here on the pommel!” Does the figure seem animate? Or familiar in any way?
"Also ... does anyone know what that cat guy is? He's not like ... a were panther tiger thing is he? I'm sick of being bitten by those guys."
