still round 5; fakey can choose to fricasee the capm since Altai dusted the trollwife, Stiggy and Gittik have attacks, awa the not ready for prime time non-player characters.

Perhaps Becton should jog over and use some curative magicks on the fallen, bleeding Will?
The captain bursts into flame. He drops his sword, and shield, and staggers off of the side of the boat.
His dead body swims 9 times around the ship, and then stops, sinking...sinking...
"Hey - what this say? This no look like writing. This word look like.... Trea...sure... Oooo! Me like treasure!"
Riese(Male Human Paragon 3 /Evoker 6 (abjuration&enchantment barred) ---37,300XP)
Ok fellows, I would like to make a foray back into town to ID these magical items and get some supplies, namely another repair wand, some lumber and tar and maybe find a few people who can effect repairs upon a sea vessel. Who is gonna accompany me?
Are Tom and Will still alive?
Elgan climbs back onto the ship just in time to see the flaming captain throw himself over the side and do laps around the ship.
"Ocean is,... gone." He responds numbly to the inquiry.
Once he is sure there are no other pirates to combat, he goes to help those below with putting out the fire. He is distinctly less talkative than usual.
Cool scenario Daddy-o! Now we have a house-base, AND a ship! Look out ! ;)
Riese(Male Human Paragon 3 /Evoker 6 (abjuration&enchantment barred) ---37,300XP)
Looks like 6 ID-able items. We will take the cost from our treasure to ID them. Altai, you wanna check out the spellbook? I am gonna get my Lawyer to create a document of ownership for the boat, once again in our names.
For Heathy-
Spoiler:
I intend to have the ship renamed in the documents, something blatantly obvious as a way to advertise Riese's name. Hee-hee.
Altai Iscarni(Male Human Wizard 14 (Conjuration school))
Altai dives and snags Sigurd Snakeeyes' corpse as it sinks, dragging it back to the surface. "You know, he might be faking it. Anyway, considering the stone circle and all that, I'd rather bury our foes on land than dump them in the water."

Burning 600 g.p. from the lootpile for identifies,
The ring is +1 protection
The wand is electricity orb lesser, 2d8 dmg, 30 charges
The shield is a +1 heavy steel shield
The greatsword is a +1 greatsword
The breastplate is a +1 breastplate; it'll size for a fat hobgob down to a hobniz
the bastardsword, +1 keen, an old dwarven relic from the far north.
I'll get more stuff straightened out as time allows--boat papers, house papers; the boat needs stats and a thorough careening, and the central hold needs a bit of carpentry work. The lightningbolt also singed the main mast a bit. It'll hold under normal conditions, but a big wind and it'll snap.
The map--I'll straighten that out later; it....seems to be a location up a river, over a side channel, to a demarked place in the Hool marsh.
Also have to slap together a small convo with the Town Council; they're very interested in how well your plan has thrived. In addition to the swag division, they give everybody another 2,000 g.p. each.
Don't worry about the "Max limit" on magic purchases; anything unavailable in Saltmarsh shall be available in Seaton.
Spellbook--
1level--grease, orb of electricity(lesser),shocking grasp, repair lt damage; the rest you have
2level--electric vengeance, repair mod damage, gust of wind; the rest you have
3level--mage armor(greater), lightning bolt
Tom and Will are alive.
Let's say--700 g.p. will get the ship ship shape; it's gotta be taken to town and put in drydock for a while. The whole process,....they can get her done in 5 days.
You've got time to chill, spend your swag, all that jazz; the town council meeting can occur any time.
The lawyer can draw up authentic papers of ownership for 50 g.p. for the ship. For the house, he posts an intent to inhabit, 15 g.p., and says that there's a 30 day period for which anybody who challenges this writ can appeal for a hearing.
He's searched; the original owner is dead 20 years gone by.
The title appears to be willed to your old buddy Swertlowe, who is currently doing hard time.
Let me know when everybody's spent/divided/etc their loot, and we can start the game rolling again at a meeting of the Town Council in Saltmarsh.....
also, any questions or minor this-and-that/conversations with n.p.c.'s and all that, let me know.

Riese will foot the bill for both documents and repairs on the ship.
Somebody needs to do a treasure division to decide who gets what.
Riese wants to scribe some spells into his book, namely Greater Mage armor among others.

Spoiler:
Riese's Regulator's Run. The three R's for short.

Monemoneymoney!
300 gp from the pirate landing party
+ 1500 gp in assorted weaponry from the pirate landing party
+ 8500 gp in assorted junk onboard
= 10300
- 600 (identify fees)
= 9700/7
= 1385 gold and 7 silver for each party member
In addition, there’s
•2000 gp to each from Saltmarsh’s City Council
•500 gp for Gittik, for serving as the baronet’s Groom of the Stool
Thus, everybody receives 3385 gold and 7 silver, except Gittik, who gets 3885,7. We're rich!
Altai Iscarni(Male Human Wizard 14 (Conjuration school))
Stuffstuffstuff!
Dragonskin breastplate (from pirate landing party) - Elgan
Ring of protection +1 - Gittik
Wand of lesser electrical orb (2d8 dmg, 30 charges) - Altai or Riese

Can Riese and I scribe the same spells from the book, or is it one scribing only? If so, I'll make some copies from Riese's spellbook of the spells he took.

ARR! ARR! ARR! It's piratey...
Altai Iscarni(Male Human Wizard 14 (Conjuration school))
As the ship gets pulled into its drydock and the mages have finished plundering the odd wizard's spellbok, something suddenly occurs to Altai. "We can't just lounge around town for too long, as we're probably needed at Fort Bale. If the young baronet's attitude was any indication, the fort will need all the help it can get."
Will probably sell the new dragonskin breastplate since I already bought one the last trip to town! Then I'll probably pay 1,000 Gp to enchant the dragon skin to +1 (unless I can afford to make it 'Beastskin armor' Instead!?! Or both?!?!) Then probably spend 2,000GP to enchant the bow to +1. (AT this level, my attack when shifted already counts as magic!)
Altai Iscarni(Male Human Wizard 14 (Conjuration school))
OK. After selling unneeded items, the math works out like this:
1350 gp (breastplate +1)
+700 (dragonhide breastplate)
+2350 (greatsword+1)
=4400/2
=2200/7
=314 gold and 7 silver extra to each party member.

Beldan’s been thinking. He’s pretty upset by Ocean’s fate as well, but he’s been dwelling on it.
“Look, it just doesn’t make any sense,” he says finally. “I’m terrified of sharks – especially after that story you guys told about your encounter at the under-water standing stones – and I was keeping a good eye out for them when we rowed over to the ship. Now granted, it was dark, but I certainly didn’t see any fins. Altai, Riese and Elgan were in the water, and they didn’t get nuzzled by any monsters.
“So then, all of a sudden, the instant Ocean hits the water, this huge mother of a shark turns up? I mean, sure, she was bleeding, but there really wasn’t much chance for blood to get into the water before she did. And if the shark was as big as Altai said, and looking for a free meal, then it could have taken a bite of him or Ocean while they were swimming around down there. No, that thing was waiting for her.
“And if it was just waiting to finish her off … why not just bite her in half? It could have. But Altai said it engulfed her completely in its mouth … now, I don’t know if she could survive that, along with the beating she took from the captain’s girl-friend … but we don’t know she’s dead. There’s something very fishy about all of this … that shark took her somewhere. And she might still be alive…”
Not sure what I want to buy yet, but Beldan will offer to chip in some money for deeds and repairs and such, and also give some reward money to Will and Tom for sharing the risks.
Ok, here's the plan, Beastskin Armor is a +2 enhancement, and if we are sticking to the rules means that the armor must be at least +1 FIRST, and I cannot afford a +3 enhancement right now! So, 1,000GP to +1 my Dragonskin armor, 1,000GP to +1 the Dragonskin Shield, and 2,000 to +1 my masterwork Bow, that leave me with a grand to shop for useful items. NExt, save up another 8grand to make my armor beastskin!
you don't know how, or why, but....something tells you deep in your heart of hearts, that you're spot on somehow wrt Ocean....I don't know how this thing would be tracked, though.
