Waiting on positions; perception rolls from Altai, Pip, Beldan, Satari, Dok; I reckon Dok/Beldan are gone for a little while; if somebody rolls/positions them before the rest of everybody's had their turn, that's cool, otherwise I'll do it whenever that happens.

Dok's been bringing up the rear in this little excursion, so just put him behind everybody else...

he sees them before the claws reach him;
Beldan, Em, and Satari, though, get surprised attacked.....by something with clawed arms from the stacks of skulls (the "Sd's" on the map).

Beldan is missed,

Emrael takes 5 damage and 4 cold damage for up to 9 hp,

Satari is missed.

Four shadowy forms attack from the skull piles.

Initiative: the number to beat is.....28.

Emrael's flatfooted AC vs incorporeal attacks (making an assumption there) would be 18. She has nothing active that I can think of to reduce the damage, so 9 points recorded.

Initiative 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21

Iaijutsu Focus (Ex): At 13th level, a kensai may always act and may draw his weapon as a swift action during a surprise round, though he is considered flat-footed until he acts. During a surprise round or when attacking a flat-footed opponent, he adds his Intelligence modifier on damage with his chosen weapon (minimum 0).

Emrael will draw her katana as a move action and activate her arcane pool as a swift action, expending two points to imbue the sword with ghost touch and an additional +3 enhancement bonus, making it a +4 Keen Holy Ghost Touch Katana for 14 rounds.

Quick check to see if anybody has +19 to initiative...

Pretty sure Emrael's got the high bonus on initiative. Please note the edit to her post since we cross-posted.

Beldan gets clawed twice; 8 damage + 11 cold.

Beldan's at 78 hp.

Emrael is missed by her foe. She sees red eyes, and horns, and fangs, on a shadowy humanoid body.

Satari also surprises his foe, by proving too trickxsy to hit.

Reading something unrelated, I realized I had misread the arcane pool ability - rather than rounds/level, it defaults to a flat minute per use.

Katana attack 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (7) + 18 = 25
Damage 1d8 + 17 ⇒ (5) + 17 = 22

Katana attack 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29
Damage 1d8 + 17 ⇒ (1) + 17 = 18
If the crit applies, confirmation roll 1d20 + 13 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 13 + 7 = 23 including bonus from critical perfection
Damage 1d8 + 17 ⇒ (3) + 17 = 20

He will take an action to cast magic fang (hopefully helping him hit incorporeal foes) then a move action, he will try to position himself to give his ally the flanking bonus from him. He will attack next round.

Dok whips his bow from his shoulder as he draws his first arrow, bringing the weapon up and firing in one fluid motion. As the arrow hurtles forward towards its target, another is already taking its place on the bowstring, followed by another, then another, filling the short distance between Dok and the nearest monster with wooden missiles baring metal teeth. Employing Rapid shot, and attacking the nasty in K 11, please.

First arrow: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (13) + 20 = 33
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Second arrow: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

How about this for Pip:

Pip draws Mezzaluna and holds it forth as he started his Inspire Courage routine. As the sword floats alongside him humming, it begins to echo his song.

+3 morale bonus on saving throws against charm and fear effects and a +3 competence bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls

Note: Pip is down 31 hp.

The things in the skull stacks hiss at the sword's beauteous thrumming song.

Altai/Claw, Satari, and Beldan are up.

And for Beldan:

The rogue draws the tengu sword and strikes at the shadow that Emrael hit tumbling to K13 if necessary Acrobatics 1d20 + 30 ⇒ (7) + 30 = 37.
"Stupid demons. Don't they know we are supposed to be here?"

And I spent so much time trying to find what his bonus should be, I forgot to include the +3 from Pip, so that should hit AC 34 for 15 hp.

Beldan skewers the shadowdemon, and it shrieks in pain.
