Covered by the golem, Altai moves closer to the floating gutball before blasting them with lightning.
Move to L95 before casting Lightning bolt. It hits Guts 2, 3 and 4, plus the catfish; I'm using my Metamagic rod (empower) to give it a bit more fizz. Damage 10d6=39x1,5=57 lightning, REflex 23 for half.
Gutthing 2 dies;
Three saves, four takes a good blast.
They seem to resist electricity, but.......57 hp is a lot of electricity.......
and Altai isn't sure what happened to the fish; it's underwater.
dungeonmaster heathy |
The giant dragonfly zips past the catfish, lashing out with its multi-hinged jaws.
Move to CDEF 88-91. Along the way it bites Fishy, using Flyby Attack. No grapple attempt - there's no real point... Attack roll 11+19=AC 30, damage 2d8+11=20.
The other dragonfly keeps climbing, vigorously shaking its slimy passenger.
Move to KLMN 47-51, climbing 40' up to 95'; it is now heading due west. Attack roll 12+19=AC 31, damage 2d8+11=19.
The first rocfly hits; the second one does as well.
Neither foe falls. Literally or from a height......
Pendobar 'Pip' Bushytoe |
Seeing the profusion of enemies, Pip decides to bring more firepower to the table.
Casting Summon Monster V to bring a >bralaini Azata< to the party
dungeonmaster heathy |
The three that are fighting each other keep at it. There's two now; that "gut flumph" perishes.
The scum thing gripped by the roc dragonfly tries to break free but can't.
guts3 goes after elgan.
misses with a horrid bite; it has many mouths on intestiny tentacles.
guts4 goes after doc. it misses as well.
Guts 5 appears from the river.
The catfish swims out of the river, and heads through the trees, honing in on Altai.
GROUP'S ATTACK!!!!!
Beldan Vale |
Beldan crawls to G79, pops his head up and fires at Gut 5.
Sneak attack if applicable, with deadly aim etc: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (4) + 22 = 26 damage: 1d8 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17 plus 7d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 3, 6, 5, 5, 4) = 31 sneak attack plus 1d6 ⇒ 3 electricity plus 7 bleed and 2 strength damage if applicable.
Emrael Bladewalker |
Seeing Altai targetted by the huge fish, Emrael hurries back K95 is exactly 60', I believe. She has barely slid to a stop when she lunges, reaching way too far for her size, trying to score a hit on the strange monster.
Mobility brings AC to 38 for moving through the critter's threatened squares; Lunge drops it back to 36. Her AC for the duration of the round is 32.
Attack 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (13) + 19 = 32 including Power Attack, inspire, haste
Damage 1d10 + 22 ⇒ (8) + 22 = 30 including two-hand Power Attack, inspire
Note: The katana is cold iron if that helps with DR.
Dok |
Unwilling to give up the sword attacks as viable just yet, Dok slashes at the bag of guts in front of him again and again...
Falchion attack 1: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (7) + 22 = 29
Damage: 2d4 + 10 ⇒ (4, 3) + 10 = 17
Fire Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Falchion attack 2: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (1) + 17 = 18
Damage: 2d4 + 10 ⇒ (4, 4) + 10 = 18
Fire Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Falchion attack 3: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14
Damage: 2d4 + 10 ⇒ (1, 4) + 10 = 15
Fire Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6
OUCH!!!
Claw the Golem |
Seeing the catfish reappear before it, the huge dragonfly slows down and hovers above it, razor-tipped legs flailing.
5' step to DEFG 89-92, followed by a full attack on Fishy. Bite 10+19=AC 29, damage 2d8+11=22. Claw 1 11+20=AC 31, damage 2d6+11=16. Claw 2 10+20=AC 30, damage 2d6+11=18.
The other dragonfly keeps climbing.
Move to RSTU 49-52, climbing 40' up to 135'; it is now heading due south. Attack roll 13+19=AC 32, damage 2d8+11=20.
Altai Iscarni |
"Enough of this crap. This ends now, fish!"
Move to P92 before hitting Fishy with an empowered Disintegrate. Attack roll 13+10=touch AC 23, damage 28d6=105x1,5=157 unless it makes a Fort 26 save. If it does, it takes 5d6=20x1,5=30 damage instead. It's an all-or-nothing spell, this one...
Altai Iscarni |
Spellcasting is unaffected by Haste. Having said that, I forgot to include the bonus to hit in my attack roll, plus the bardic bonus. Thus, the disintegration ray hits touch AC 27, rather than AC 23.
EDIT: In case you were referring to Claw rather than Altai - yes, the extra attack is included. Neither he nor the giant insects benefit from bardic music as, well, they are rather hard to actually inspire...

Falchion attack 1: 1d20+22

Damage: 2d4+10
Fire Damage: 1d6Falchion attack 3: 1d20+12
Damage: 2d4+10
Fire Damage: 1d6OUCH!!!
dang! 1....2....
you do have one more attack;doc connects on the first one. The fire isn't affecting the gutbag, but the falchion slices; it's still alive though.
It's like cutting a tire with a meatcleaver though.

The first one hits the fish with both claws; the bite misses.
The damage is miniscule, but it's adding up.
Second one hits his slimy captive; it's looking haggard.
dungeonmaster heathy |
Claw pounds away at the floating gutball.
After being hit by that lightning bolt, Claw is now hasted. Attack 1: 11+16+1=AC 28, damage 3d8+8=21. Attack 2: 12+16+1=AC 29, damage 3d8+8=22. Attack 3: 8+16+1=AC 25, damage 3d8+8=14.
Claw misses. It's kinda rubbery and dodgy like.

It saves. Still alive. But looking like something the cat drug in.
A big Godzilla sized cat.
Elgan Dreadwood |
Elgan waves his branchy arms imperiously, and another bolt blasts the gut-flumph facing Dok. Then Elgantree reaches over and bats the gut-flumph on the top of it's,... head?
Lightning dmg, tree-shape assault X2!
5d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 2, 4, 2) = 161d20 + 25 ⇒ (19) + 25 = 441d8 + 22 + 1d6 + 1d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + 22 + (1) + (4) + (6) = 371d20 + 25 ⇒ (12) + 25 = 371d8 + 22 + 1d6 + 1d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (7) + 22 + (3) + (5) + (6) = 43
BTW, if my math was right, my AC in tree form with Barkskin is now AC:36
Elgan Dreadwood |
The miniscule singing entertainer continues to show his broad range of skills with another verisimilitude of volleyed arrows!
In perfect time to his song no less!
Pip's mighty volley, aka= 'Hail of Doom!' (Based on his last volley 2 pages ago.)
1d20 + 23 ⇒ (10) + 23 = 331d20 + 23 ⇒ (7) + 23 = 301d20 + 21 ⇒ (3) + 21 = 241d20 + 18 ⇒ (16) + 18 = 341d8 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 151d8 + 14 ⇒ (6) + 14 = 201d8 + 14 ⇒ (6) + 14 = 201d8 + 14 ⇒ (7) + 14 = 21
Someone who actually knows what he summoned mind telling his pet where to go? :)

Seeing the profusion of enemies, Pip decides to bring more firepower to the table.
Casting Summon Monster V to bring a >bralaini Azata< to the party
he summoned a bralani azata.....a beauteous elfin archer...link to stats above;
Pendobar 'Pip' Bushytoe |
Thanks Elgan! I'll do the minion, I woke up a bit early today
The otherworldly elf-looking creature that appears next to Pip spins in a circle and turns into a small dust devil Standard action. A huge buffet of wind whirls out from the spinning air mass and strikes at the foe
I am a bit spacially confused ATM, and pressed for time, but the Bralani has a Whirlwind Blast power: 3d6 damage in a 20'line (DC 17 Reflex Con based save for half). The Bralani will try to maximize the effectiveness, and has a move/fly speed of 40/100 ft.
