Elgan's still in bird form, right? He'll start off sitting on Stig's shoulder, eating a cracker.

(I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!)

right on....I think the website's been loading kinda wanky today. I couldn't hardly get on; took me 15 minutes to do my Rodergo move this morning. It was wanky. I'm reading about Aztecs and fascist El Salvadoran brujo's.

(Male Human Wizard 14 (Conjuration school))

Sounds cool. I've written a bunch of papers on El Salvador, mostly about the dictatorship and the civil war - it is a seriously messed-up country... What's the brujo thing you're reading?

Altai Iscarni wrote:

it's from the Pagan Publishing CofC'thulhu mesoamerica book....this one guy they called him the brujo or something...he loved Franco and got some planes from Mussolini back in the day. Weird true stuff....

(M Halfling Barbarian 10)

K17. (A bit further than you suggested, but that was before everybody decided to be a giant.)

(I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!)

That's cool...somebody place Riese, then we'll let the wild rumpus begin.

(Male Human Wizard 14 (Conjuration school))

How about just putting him in the doorway at M20?

(I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!)

The succubus....disappears.
The two canoloths charge to m16 and o16; hitting stig and oso each; 11 h.p. damage both heroes.

The gargoyles move to n16, j17, p16, j16, K10, and I10; the vampire becomes a bat and flies to j10; they're all three at about 10 feet high.

Altai takes 8hp from a gargoyle claw; it's in the air at his level.
Gittik is missed by the two gargoyles menacing him; they've landed.
Oso takes another 5 h.p. in damage from the gargoyle at Oso's face level.

ROUND 1-PARTY'S ATTACK!!!!!

Popping a Glitterdust right where the Succubus was.

Strums Lucille

You were caught on the crossfire of Stigwold and Gittik,
Sliced by their steel breeze.
Come on you target for Elgan's lightning bolt,
Come on you demon, you hoochy, you coward, and shine!

(Male Human Barbarian1/Cleric10)

did we start off flat-footed this round when we entered? Just asking cos I'd really like Stig and I to have an Attack of Opportunity as the monsters attacked.

Oso Legumbe wrote:

Go for it. 'Swhat cannonfodder is for.

Pip's spell sprinkles to the ground, illuminating nothing...

Aww rats!

(Male Human Barbarian1/Cleric10)

Oso chops at the demon as it attacks. Attack roll 17+10=27, Damage 1+7+5=13pts

The warrior follows up with two more attacks on the same beastie.

Attack roll 8+10=18, Damage 4+6+5=15pts, then Attack roll 16+5=21, Damage 1+6+5=12pts

EDIT: I thought they just had a humungus foot speed. Anyone else seen the guy going postal on the superstar contest?

(I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!)

And while I'm at it; that whole thing about "difficult terrain..." I guess I bolloxed that up when the canoloths charged. So...no difficult terrain, and I'll flagellate myself some.

(I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!)

Oso throttles the demon dog three times...blood and teeth fly everywhere, but the thing's awful unearthly baying continues.

(Male Human Paragon 3 /Evoker 6 (abjuration&enchantment barred) ---37,300XP)

I really need a map....I am so cornfused.

Hey dudes, I spent a good part of yesterday in the hospital and feel a little f%+!ed up due to the stomach flush.... explanations will follow. And I may be a deadbeat poster for a day or two. I'm gonna cut and paste this message into all my threads I feel so crappy now.

Whoa, that doesn’t sound good. Hope you make a speedy recovery, and that the Chinese hospital system has treated you well.

(Male Human Wizard 14 (Conjuration school))

"Gaah!" Altai drifts away from the gargoyle, frantically gesturing as he casts a spell. As he finishes it, a humonguous, multicoloured insect pops into being right next to him. "The bug is mine! Don't attack it!"

Concentration check to keep my spell as the gargoyle struck me 16+12=28, which is plenty. 5' float to M18 as I finish the spell. The new visitor is a celestial giant wasp, which appears in LM 14-15, 15' above ground.

The enormous insect takes a massive bite out of the gargoyle.

Attacking the bastard in N16. Attack roll 15+8+1(bardic music)=AC 24, damage 3+9+1(bard)=13 - this damage is Magic and Good. The gargoyle also needs to make a Fort 16 check or lose 5 points of Dex.

(Male Human Rogue 14)

I assume the gargoyle at J18 is flying fairly low if its going after Gittik. Beldan will move to K19 on the assumption that he can reach and attack that one.

Beldan stabs at the low flying gargoyle with his magical rapier. 19+6+1 (bardic) = 26. Crit confirm: 16+6+1 = 23. Damage: 6+1+1 = 8 (+7 if crit).

ALL of the above baby, although not necessarily in that order,... ;P Oh, and don't forget about the beads, lots and lots of beads,...

ELgan, back in his hawk-form sitting on the Giant dwarf's shoulders, Does anyone ELSE have the urge to shout 'OXY-MORON', or maybe just 'MORON', or is it just me?!? SCreeches a spell as soon as Stiggy bursts through the door. His second screech summons another bolt of lightning from his weary cloud before the first even takes effect.

A moment later, the muddy floor begins writhing as the gnarled roots burst forth and begin snatching at everything in range.

THERE Heathy, NOW it's difficult terrain! ;) I'm trying to get this off BEFORE the charge of the demon dogs, but if not, at least it should catch everything else before it takes off again.

Oh, home roll for lightning dmg: 3+4+3=10 Will target the space the vampire bat is in, thank you,...

(M Halfling Barbarian 10)

Tumble check = 10 + 10 = 20. Move to J11.

Gittik twists between the stony claws of the gargoyles and hurtles across the floor towards the vampire bat, flying "nap of the earth" and drawing the enchanted silver stake as he goes.

(Male Human Rogue 14)

“Aah, Gittik,” Beldan sighs, looking up at the gargoyle and preparing to dodge away from it’s counter attack. “You’re doing it all wrong. Don’t you know you’re s’posed to wade through all the minions first before you try to tackle the Big Bad?”

Pip takes a stab at the canine horror attacking Oso

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY TO THE SALTMARSH GAME!!!!!

I'll get around to the gaming in a few here...

(I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!)

I got to fart around with this camera a bit here....ornery mule.....

(I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!)

Altai's wasp stings it's target; it still fights.
Gittik makes it to his destination, before the entangle spell makes his movement hairy; the lightningbolt hits but doesn't phase the vampire.
Beldan crit's a gargoyle; it still fights...
The two canoloths are in the entangle spell; as is the gargoyle at p16. have to figure out what exact squares it covers. Where is it centered?

Pip's a little ahead of himself; ;) this is still the first round...

do you need me to re-call out the coordinates? I...might be able to figure out how to scan one in or something...I'll try, but I'll have to go home tonight. I don't know how to do that stuff Kruelaid does.

(Male Human Wizard 14 (Conjuration school))

And, it's still our turn - Stig and Riese hasn't acted yet. Actually, as Kruelaid's sick as hell, I'd suggest this:

Spoiler:
Attack of opportunity on Canoloth 1: 13+1(bard)+13-7(2-H PA)=AC 20, damage 8+1(bard)+21=30.

Regular attacks, still on Canoloth 1: Attack roll 1: 12+1(bard)+13-7(2-H PA)=AC 19, damage 4+1(bard)+21=26. Attack 2: Roll 20! That hits AC 22, confirm roll 16+1+1=AC 18, damage 7+1+21=29x3=87 points of damage! If that drops the doggie-thing, he cleaves the gargoyle in N16 (who's already been bitten by the mega-wasp). Attack roll 14+1+1=AC 16, damage 7+1+21=29. He then steps forward to L/M 16-17.

Riese.

GAAAAAH!! I just wrote out the whole fight setup for Fakey - and then hit "edit" instead of "reply" to it for my next post... Gone, gone, gone. I'll do it again once I calm down a little.

What about the gargoyle?

(I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!)

First the room:

dimensions....a-t top, 1-19 bottom;
usable spaces...
g-n 1,
e-p 2,
c-r 3,
a-t 4-16,
c-r 17,
e-p 18,
g-n 19,
the hallway opens into the room at m19 south wall.

there is a trellis at i-k 2-3, stretched skins and wickerwork on four posts, 10 feet in the air, and a lizardman vampire lies as if in repose thereupon. It is lit by two bull skulls at the foot and the head of it; lit by an eerie red light. Much of the room is dark.

Gittik is at j11,
ther's a giant wasp at LM 14-15 at Altai's level,
Stiggy is at LM 16-17,
Bel is at K18,
Oso is at OP 17-18,
Pip is at N18; Altai is at N18 floating in the air about 15 feet high,
Elgan is at L 16 on Stiggy's shoulder,
Riese is at m20

Let's say....N-T 4-16 is Elgan's entangle spell.

Now the enemies:
Vampire, in dire bat form, at J10.
Two gargoyles flank him, at I10 and K10.
These are all 10 feet off the ground.

There was a succubus, she is unseen now.

Gargoyles at J16, J17, not far off the ground.
Gargoyle at N16 at Altai's level,
Gargoyle at P16 on the ground, entangled,
Canoloth at O16; the other one was just killed by Stiggy.

(I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!)

It used all three (well actually about 2 and 1/5) of his attacks to dust the canoloth...they was eating their Wheaties.

Sure, but he gets a cleave attempt once he drops the canoloth.

(I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!)

Duuh.....go for it!!!
Cleave away, mighty Stiggy!!!

I really gotta go less mooks next time out; my brain gets all gooey.

He did - it's in the spoiler.

Mook-less fighting gets weird as well - the main baddie needs to be seriously hard if the heroes can close with him right away. This isn't so bad.

(I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!)

Duuuuh.....again!

THWAPAYYOW!!!
The gargoyle goes flying with a thwap of Stig's weapon. Flies thirty feet across the wheel and meatily spaps into the wall.

The map's cool; it's mirror mirror reverso of what I have, but that don't matter cos it'll work...

(I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!)

LOL! I love the yellowjacket; I got stung by one of them sumbiches 5 times once.

(Male Human Wizard 14 (Conjuration school))

Cartographer Monkey wrote:

The room's one row too short - the bottom of the room should be row 19. While it won't really make any difference, it keeps poor Oso out of the wall...

dungeonmaster heathy wrote:

The giant wasp is a f+%*ing beast - thanks to Augment Summoning, it has STR 22, and its sting counts as a 2-handed attack. Also, the poison potency rises with the improved CON score.

Andoran (Male Mothman Expert 5)

Cartographer Monkey wrote:

Good map mate. I think Stiggy needs to move down the page a square, so that he's sharing a space with Altai (who is flying above) rather than Beldan.

We got anyone left to go in round 1?

(I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!)

Just Riese.

(I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!)

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!! FREAK OUT!!!!! IT'S THE MOTHMAN!!!!! AAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!
