"This final card is indicative of your future, and the reversed Big Sky card suggests that longtime slaves will be freed, but that the shackles thrown off may be replaced with worse ones. This is a relatively poor omen, though overall I think this reading suggests that our goddesses wish you to keep your weapon... though I would still warn against using it often. I wouldn't want to lose you...."
Yazi |
A look of relief washes over Yazi's face as Bartan gives his final reading. Going over to embrace him the relief shows in her voice too. "I couldn't bear to lose you either. I promise I'll only use En-Nebi if I have to." Sitting beside him the serene look on her face is soon replaced with a mischeveous one as she starts to nuzzle his neck. "Now since we were so rudely interrupted earlier..."

THE NEXT MORNING
(How is everyone getting ready? Rations, trail (per day) cost 5 silver, waterskins are 1 gold, camels are 50 gp (less than a light horse), mules are 8 gp, saddles are extra.)
(Princess Almah would like a sendoff, but Garavel has persuaded her that a more discreet start would suffice, in case Kelmarane is being watched.)
Yazi |
Ugh, that sounds likes work :3
More seriously though with the amount of us it might be a good idea to buy a wagon that we can put all our supplies into as well.
Bartan Harrowborn |
Agreed, a wagon might be a good idea. Then we can just get two pack mules to pull it and be good to go. Bartan will get trail rations for 20 days (10 gold) and a couple waterskins filled with clean water (3 gold).
Hajar nar Jundi |
Hajar can spend some gold to outfit a small caravan. Hajar spends 100GP on whatever is needed to outfit us to get going. Lets go.

(I'm just the GM. Somebody make a list, and either put it on their profile page or on "Adventure Log, Loot, Components, WBL". If I was a player, this is the kind of logistics I love to do in my spare time, letting my Army training shine. As it is, I'm waiting on you guys & gals. :) )
Hajar nar Jundi |
I positively hate this level of minutiae, I'd rather just pay 10x the amount in gold and handwave it. Let's get to the adventuring.
GM_Pace |
As the hot sun rises over the desert in the east, Khayal is loading the wagon outside the Heroes of Kelmarane's three-story mansion, formerly known as the Wharfmaster Manor. (B5 on the bridge side on the map. B4 is the stables, B3 is The Lucky Cup, etc.) A few townspeople watch the fighter hitch the mules to the wagon.
(You can take the dialogue from here. Is Khayal's wife helping to pack? Anybody else awake & helping?)
Khayal Bin Haleen |
Shirin hitches up the last straps and makes sure the wagon is snugly packed. It would not be good if everything fell out on the way up a mountain. Khayal gives her a long hug and whispers We'll be back in a couple of weeks, when I get back we are going to have a feast.
Shirin replies Just don't plan on eating too much, can't have you getting all fat.
She gives him a punch on the shoulder and turns to head back to their home.
Yazi |
As Shirin leaves Yazi can't help but hook an arm around Khayal and tease him as they both watch his wife leave. "Mmm, that ass... The things I would do to that ass... With your aid of course."
Khayal Bin Haleen |
will save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
improved iron will reroll: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Khayal beings to blush but steels himself and holds his composer.
Yazi |
Seeing him blush she can't help but be a little malicious. "If you two do eat too much, I'll gladly help the both of you work it off, I have a very stringent exercise plan, just look at Dealer. When we first met he was shy and bookish, he still is mind you but now he can easily bench press two tavern wenches at a time, I've seen him do it! So say as a Birthday or Anniversery gift? Or really any old day of the week, you make the day an occasion, the day doesn't make itself special."
Paige Nightsong |
Paige arrives with her new mule, her druid's cloak and hood both blocking out the sun and providing for that "i'm a mysterious druid" look. She nods to Yazi and Khayal. Come, let's get on the road. We should try to make the mountains before the heat of the day - we can shelter in the shade of the stones, then continue in the evening.

Sensing Yazi's thoughts Paige smiles and brushes Yazi's chin with her index finger. How cute. Then she turns to walk away.
Yazi |
Oooo, this looks fun!
Make some witty catcalls or suggestive comment after Paige:
Bluff: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21
Stepping up against the Druid Yazi will return the gesture by hooking one arm behind the girl's waist and with the other running a finger across the smaller girl's bottom lip. "I assure you the sounds I can have you making would be quite cute."
Paige Nightsong |
Paige makes a *squeek* sound, then backs away. We should...get moving. The day will be too hot to travel soon. She fans herself mabe already too hot. She begins to lead her mule down the road toward the mountains.

Bartan, arriving a bit late, smiles wryly at Yazi's advances on the unsuspecting Paige. "I assure you, Miss Paige, she will get what she wants eventually, and it will be at your own begging. I guarantee it."

As the adventurers make their last adjustments to the wagon and the mules, a bunch of town children come running up. The Heroes of Kelmarane are presented with gifts on their way out of the battle market village, in clay pots and handwoven baskets. Hajar and Khayal get the majority of the presents, but the other children crowd around the Heroes, wishing them well.
Slight of Hand check against Bartan: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14
Slight of Hand check against Yazi: 1d20 ⇒ 14
Slight of Hand check against Amir: 1d20 ⇒ 13
Slight of Hand check against Paige: 1d20 ⇒ 9
Laughing and waving, the children run away a distance, watching the adventurers leave the town.
(Add 4 loaves of bread (8 cp, 2 lbs.), one hunk of cheese (1 sp, 1/2 lb.), two baskets (8 sp, 2 lbs), and two clay jugs of water (6 cp, 18 lbs.) to the list.)
(Bartan, Yazi, Amir, and Paige get to make opposed Perception rolls to make sure they haven't lost any coin purses or small items.)
(Merry Christmas, everyone! From Santa's helpers.)
Bartan Harrowborn |
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
LOL. Wow. That kid just stole from the swindler.
After the children run off, Bartan puts his hand in his pocket and realizes that his four decks of standard playing cards, as well as Bahram's dagger, are all missing.
"Oh... oh my... stop those children! They stole our fallen friend's dagger!"
Hajar nar Jundi |
Hajar shakes his head at the street children's thievery, He resolves to have the Monastery of St. Vardishal get involved with the local children.
Khayal Bin Haleen |
Since we don't know the area well. It would be best to follow a landmark like a river. Following the river is also likely to be easier on the cart and mules. It is easy to get lost in the mountains. Far harder to get lost along a river.
Paige are you able to change form into an animal like some of your kind? If you were to change form into a falcon you could fly ahead of the group and scout out the area unnoticed. I imagine by flying you'd be able to cover the area ahead of us for a day's journey very quick and return to us with the information.
Bartan Harrowborn |
"Thank you my friend." Bartan says to the guard, for returning his items. "The rascals did not realize what they stole, I am sure."
Paige Nightsong |
Paige wraps a thick leather belt around Khayal's arm. I'll need a place to land now and then she says. Then she hands the reigns of her donkey to Yazi. Then, with flick of her cloak she transforms into a desert falcon, and flys off toward the river. will guide the party as best as possible to the nearest lucrative adventure:)
Yazi |
With a bemused smirk Yazi will wrap an arm around Bartan while her other one goes wandering. "Poor Dear, just can't keep your eyes off the ladies?"
Sleight of Hand to snatch something from Bartan: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Okay so Yazi's the least subtle person here :3
GM_Pace |
(If we're moving, give me a marching order. Paige is transformed into a falcon. I'll roll for wandering monsters & terrain as you go along.)
As the party leaves the village, a winged form flies overhead, higher than the druid's falcon. The harpy watches the adventurers for a few minutes, then flies off to one of the closer northern mountains.
Hajar nar Jundi |
Sure, sounds good lets roll.
Khayal Bin Haleen |
Khayal leads the travelers by way of the river. He spends sufficient time looking for a good fishing spot along the route to suplement the groups food. Takes a 10 for 15
Hajar nar Jundi |
If we have to do this one day at a time this might get tedious...
