Vandomir...

I'll recap tomorrow but I have so far:

a) go to the Church of Shelyn with the kukri; and
b) scout the place that Octavio suggested.

Anything else?

Your ring of protection does not seem to be reflected in your AC.

Is your circlet of persuasion reflected on your skills?

Good catch, I had it in my statline, and I got it in my CMD on both the statline and character sheet, I just missed the ac on the character sheet. Should be correct now. The circlet was factored in already.

Is it the sheet from my stat? That should be right. Ah - I've been tracking the old data at the bottom of that sheet as well for tracability. I have removed it.

Hmm... so we are going to let the whole church know we are the leaders of the Silver Ravens? Is that a wise way or running a secret society? Or shall we try to go in masked?

Action 1

Vandomir listened to the arguments for and against taking the blade to the churches before responding, "if I can add my opinions here, if taking the artifact to the churches gets gold for the rebellion, then I am more in favor of that course of action. I am certainly not opposed to doing good, for the sake of good, and destroying evil for the sake of destroying evil, but my purpose, and I believe it is the shared purpose of us all, is to free Kintargo from the unjust and oppressive rule of the Thrunes. If that means we ally ourselves with one of the churches, and risk them letting the artifact loose, but we gain hard coin to finance our actions, then I am in favor of that course of action."

Action 2

Vandomir nodded in approval, "beyond the utility of such an unknown location as the Lucky Bones and the area beneath it, I would enjoy the opportunity to explore the place just to learn about the architecture it uses. Some of the techniques used in the older buildings are forgotten, even though they are superior to what we do now. Finding the Ravens a concealed base of operations, and improving my knowledge of my craft, seems to me an excellent use of my time. We will not be revolutionaries forever, right? Once we are done, I will have to fall back on my craft."

A couple of questions while Iwas updating the PC sheets:

Tillia: did you not have a pearl of power (1st)?

Vandomir: did you not have a wand of CLW?

If so, I don't see them on the PC sheets...

Action 1:
Noravia drank some of the darkly roasted coffee to perk herself up before round two started regarding the evil kukri. "It seems like handing over the weapon in favor of the reward is the way to go to help with the costs of the rebellion. The question remains as to whether it goes to the church of Abadar or Shelyn. Is it something as easy as finding out which one provides the larger bounty or are there other concerns? Personally I'd like to know whether they plan to destroy the weapon or just lock it away."

There's the one with like 12 charges. I had considered the idea of procuring an extra, but received pushback in the form of "that should be procured from party funds," so I moved on and forgot about it.

As near as I can tell after you rolled random items for me, I ended up with:

My items of significant value:

+1 greatsword 2350gp
+1 adaptive Composite longbow 3400 gp
+1 breastplate 1350gp
Chain shirt barding 200gp
Random gear 250gp
Hat of Disguise 1800gp

That's 9350gp, so if my limit is 10,500, there's plenty in there for a 750gp CLW wand.

"My concern with the Abadarians that being who they are, perhaps their intent is to purchase it, and then resell it to the highest bidder, that being the mercantile thing to do. However, the followers of Shelyn, as pointed out, have a bit of a history of managing such things in a more responsible fashion."

Action 2

"My chief concern when going beneath an old building will be light, and of course the structural stability of the building itself. If we have solutions for the light problem, then I can conduct an assessment of the structure before we proceed, and perhaps at intervals while we are down there? If we intend to use the place for our long term purposes, we need to ensure it is safe in every form."

Tillia nodded in agreement with Vandomir's points, "You know my preference, even if the reward isn't as great I would reccomend giving it to the temple of Shelyn. They might even be willing to reward us for destroying it while there, I don't know. I feel it's worth checking out. The Abbadarian temple worries me because, as Vandomir said, they might desire to re-sell, or even try to master, the blade and we can't have that happening."

Action 2
Tillia thought over the issue of lighting and then said, "I believe I have a spell that can handle that problem. I'll reference my spell book when we're finished to see if I'm correct."

at the temple
Caleb waited outside while his companions visited the temple. "Look - makes sense if they don't see all our faces. Plus, this could well be a trap. I'll wait out here and give you warning if I see any THRUNE."

at the door
"Oiled hinges, hey? Suspicious. Who's been oiling them?"

fort dc 12: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Caleb bent almost double, his breakfast continuing his trajectory as his hands desperately clung to his knees in an attempt to keep him away from the floor. "What's that smell?" he asked, repulsed. "I've lived in a sewer for a month... HUURK. I thought I'd smelt everything foul HUURK." further words are stopped as Caleb's stomach co-opted his mouth once again, and narrowly missed Tillia's shoes.

Female Human Inquisitor(Infiltrator)/10

Action 2:

fort DC12: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

Noravia wrinkled her nose and inwardly gagged at the smell. Thankfully she was able to steel her insides against the stench. When the heaps of garbage began to move, she drew on the power of Milani to fill her allies with courage to fight against these disgusting and vile creatures.

Will cast Bless before entering the fray next turn.

Action 1
When they delivered the dagger to the temple Tillia looked to her companions and said, "If you don't want all of us to be known as members of the Ravens I'll take the blade in with just Alinza to accompany me."
A little unclear on what you mean by: The Church of Shelyn asked what they should regarding the Ravens identity. Should they spread the word of the Ravens or keep their identity secret? Do you mean should they tell people who we actually are or tell people that the Raven's brought the dagger in?

Action 2
As usual, Mage Armor is precast before we enter the place.

Tillia was revolted by the smell in this place. the smell was so bad that it was all she could do to keep the contents of her stomach down. When she saw the things rising from beneath the refuse she finally lost all control of her stomach and heaved the contents up on the floor, barely managing to avoid getting it on her own clothing.

Fort: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Nauseated round: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Sickened minutes: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Fort Save to not hurl: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

So, that leaves me effectively out of the fight most likely.

Action 2

Fort DC 12: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Nauseated: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Sickened: 1d4 ⇒ 4

Oh well, this makes for a simple post, which is all the better for me right now. Best thing Eirik can do is back away until his stomach settles.

Eirik’s stomach rebelled at the horrible stench. Hearing Caleb lose control of his bowels was the last straw, and the monk doubled over, saying a hasty goodbye to his previous meal. Groaning and feeling his stomach clench in preparation for another explosive objection, Eirik staggered away back where they had come from, knowing he wouldn’t be of much use and not wanting to distract those still able to put up a fight.

Since you went with Alinza I assumed it was safe for the Ravens to reveal themselves to the Church of Shelyn.

The question is: should the Church of Shelyn tell Kintargo that the Ravens were involved in returning such a dangerous weapon or not?

You know, the old question of positive PR vs gaining too much notoriety.

Noravia could hear the sounds of many of her allies falling victim to the nauseating smell and she tried not to worry as two of the creatures tried to surround her. She moved to prevent any potential flanking opportunities on their part and took a swing at one of the creatures.

As she brought her weapon around, she repositioned her foot to get more power. Unfortunately it slipped on the previous contents of Tillia's stomach which now covered the floor and caused her to miss the otyugh by inches.

Those that are still nauseated for Actions 2?, please remember that your input is still 'required' in Actions 1?. Unless you all don;t want a reward. :)

Hearing sounds of battle but too occupied struggling with his own gastric distress, the monk staggered yet further away from the battle, seeking a wall to lean against for support. Female Human Inquisitor(Infiltrator)/10

I'm torn with Actions 1 because of course we want the reward but it's hard to choose what we get and who gets it. I'm assuming since it's a weapon or armor that really only Vandomir or Noravia would benefit. The fair thing would be to get two suits of armor but who doesn't want a +2 weapon? :)

You mean the leaders of a rebellion have to make decisions?!?

Who woulda thunk it? :)

Seriously, you can 'kick it forward' and let them know that you'll let them know later about the reward.

However, I had originally assumed everyone was going to the Church because it was through Tillia's contact. However, it turns out that Caleb stayed outside the temple.

So, here's where we are:
- everyone except Caleb went inside;
- you identified yourselves as the Silver Ravens; and
- the main priestess wants to know if she should tell Kintargo that the Silver Ravens have turned in a 'dangerous evil weapon' or whether she got the weapon from an anonymous source.

The 'secrecy part' I need to know sooner rather than later.

Questions?

Game on!

PS: Don't be afraid to make decisions. Wrong or right, this is what people have to do all the time.

Male Human Monk (unchained) 11

Might as well claim the credit, since we went and revealed ourselves to the church. I see that as the bigger problem here.

Male Human Monk (unchained) 11

Feeling a bit better, so here’s a backpost about getting Eirik’s new magical item and a bit of meat to cover the bones of Eirik’s NPC team…

Item acquisition

Eirik settled into a guard stance with exaggerated care, breathing slow and deep to settle his rapidly beating heart after a particularly ferocious exercise session. The air was heavy with dust, causing him to cough as he beheld the destruction he had wrought. The contents of several sand-filled bags had been scattered all over the small cellar chamber the monk had taken to using in his morning workouts. Not counting the few pounds that had got clued to his sweat-slick bare upper body and hair, or lodged painfully under his fingernails.

Eirik finished his breathing exercises and sighed heavily, raising his hands to take a good look at his fingers, still half-clenched into claws. The infusion of Ki had kept his nails intact, but the muscles did hurt quite a bit. He might have mastered a new technique today, but it’d take some time before he could use it with any sense of comfort.

”Impressive.”

Eirik started, having completely missed the presence of another person in the chamber. Though he recognized the voice immediately. Turning around, he looked down at the petite little girl whose youthful body belied her true age, and grinned nervously. ”Ah, Miss Bertrand. How long were you there?”

”Oh, since about the time you shredded the first sandbag with bare fingers, I’d say,” she said, shaking off sand from her thick braid of waist-long hair. ”After that, things got… intense… enough that I deemed it prudent not to distract you.”

”Ahh… I’m sorry about that, Miss,” Eirik said, sheepishly, trying to gauge her true intentions past the cheerful smile she wore, but once again failing. The woman certainly looked pleasant enough… but Eirik had got enough hints of the steel and barbed wire lurking behind the soft facade to be nervous. ”Did you need something from me?”

"Hmmm...? Need?" she asked, apparently distracted as she locked her green-eyed gaze with Eirik's naked abdomen. The monk wasn't fooled, though: if Asami Bertrand was interested in him, it was because she saw him as a useful ally in her personal vendetta against the City's current management. Besides, there was something in the woman's gaze that was positively chilling. "Oh yes indeed. I came here to discuss a new business opportunity me and the boys have been thinking about. I believe we have finally managed to nail down the last few details."

"Excellent," Eirik said, furtively looking around the room for his shirt. His face fell as he spotted the discarded piece of garment on the far side of the room, behind Asami. "Shall we retire upstairs to discuss the matter is some comfort?"

"But it's nice and private down here," the woman said coyly, sliding closer on silent feet to run a finger gently up and down Eirik's ample stomach. "Oh dear, look what you are making me say. You must think me terribly forward, saying it out loud."

"Perish the thought," Eirik squawked, trying to back away from the delicate finger yet finding his back pressed against the rough stone wall.

'Ridiculous,' the monk thought. 'I can almost circle her waist with my fingers! I outweigh her by a hundred pounds! I have trained my whole life in the art of combat, I know I can crush stone with my fist, yet...' Yet he was still unnerved by the coy smile, combined with the slightly dead light in the pale green eyes. He had heard it said there were people who could kill you as easily as look at you. He had thought it as baseless courthouse legend. Yet, this woman made him wonder…

"Oh, look at you blush. How nice it must be, being so young," she said, retreating a step with theatrical reluctance. "Business before pleasure, then, as always. First, I have something for you..." Eirik averted his eyes chastely as Asami lifted her skirt to reveal a stretch of pale thigh. From the corner of his eye, Eirik spotted the long stiletto strapped to her leg - not the only implement of murderous mayhem concealed under her clothes. Ignoring the blade, she ran her fingers higher up her leg, chuckling as Eirik frimly closed his eyes. It wasn't the sheer sexuality of the act that was troubling Eirik - he had spent enough time now with Tillia and the female team members to overcome some of his innocence, but this woman knew exactly how to get under his skin, every single time.

A tightly wound bundle of something was pressed against his chest and Eirik opened his eyes as he accepted the packet. White linen, a long strip three inches wide, bound for ease of transportation, he hazarded. He met Asami's eyes.

"A little gift, something we thought you could put to a good use," she said, businesslike, straightening her ankle-length skirt. "Wrapped around the torso, it seems to imbue the wearer with combat prowess. Though only when fighting barehanded, like you do."

"A valuable gift, then. My thanks to you and to your companions," Eirik answered with a courtly bow. He was about to elaborate when he noticed the red stain peeking through the folds of cloth.

"The previous owner," Asami answered with a shrug. "I believe I mentioned the nailing down of details a moment ago, yes? She seemed reluctant to part with the thing, so I'm afraid I had to insist. It really wasn't much trouble at all."

"She might disagree."

"Oh, I'm sure she is well past such trifling worries," Asami replied airily, giving the monk a bright innocent smile as she gestured at him to follow her up. "In fact, I can guarantee it. But enough of that boring matter. I believe I shall take you up for your offer to retire upstairs. Yes, an intimate breakfast while we talk shop. Oh, don't bother with washing up first. I don't mind a little bit of the beast in my men."

The light, easy laughter made Eirik shudder, but as the tiny slip of a woman turned to lead the way upstairs, the monk followed dutifully along.

Female Human Inquisitor(Infiltrator)/10

Action 1:

When Dorial inquired as to what to share with regards to who retrieved the weapon, Noravia spoke up. "May we have just a moment to discuss this amongst ourselves?" The head priestess nodded and removed herself from immediate earshot. Keeping her voice somewhat low the inquisitor said, "I think that the word needs to be spread that it was the Silver Ravens who brought the weapon to the church of Shelyn. The citizens needs to know that we have their best interests in mind and not just a bunch of rebels. It's not like there haven't been rumors already regarding our existence. If we stay anonymous, anyone can potentially take credit."

tag everyone I think Vandomir and Eirik are also of the same mind. If so, I think that's the majority.

If Silver Ravens taking credit
Having come to a decision relatively quickly, Noravia caught the attention of Dorial once again and said, "We believe it best for the morale of the citizens of Kintargo to know that it was the Silver Ravens who put a stop to the killer and delivered the cursed weapon to the church of Shelyn. They need to know that we are their protectors while we fight against oppression. Feel free to tell Kintargo that the Silver Ravens have turned in a 'dangerous evil weapon' so that it can no longer be used against them by people such as Wex."

When the conversation turned to the equipment they were offering the mage knew none of it was of use to her personally so she allowed the rest to agree on what they wanted to do with this favor.

Action 2
Tillia was feeling better after emptying her stomach, she knew it was disgusting, but it helped none the less. Collecting herself as best she could the mage began to cast a spell, careful not to draw the creature's attention. She didn't know if this would work out but it was worth a try. The spell flew at the nearest of the creatures and seized hold of it's mind as she said, "Help us kill the other two like you and we'll try to get you whatever you want."

Action 1
Ah, what I should have clarified is that Caleb is coming up with excuses to avoid going onto Good Holy Ground. He doesn't know how it'll react to the thing inside him.

Caleb lay flat on the rooftop and looked out at the Rose Temple with fear. The fear was not for the fall that awaited any slip - his demon would keep him well from that. It was not from discovery - his disguise skills were literally superhuman, and there was no worry there.
The fear was the the church would reveal him. Intellectually his companions knew there was something wrong with Caleb, but they also knew him. They had fought alongside him. But if the goddess they so respected revealed him to be Evil's Cage?
'Would Eirik ever trust my word again? Would Noravia try to kill me? Would Vandomir join in? Would Tillia ever look at me like a... brother again'
Inside his mind a voice chuckled musically 'brother? Do you think she wants a brother?'

Can we defer the decision of what the boon will be for now? It would be nice to decide when Vandomir is around to discuss.

Yeah, that's fine. I'll close that scene with you guys letting them know that you will let them know later.

I'll be recapping this afternoon.

Noravia could feel their filth trying to penetrate her defenses. She could feel them trying to weaken her and she did the only thing that made sense, she called on Milani's judgment. "You and your kind are judged for being unclean...but also because I'm quickly becoming irked."

I don't know what the DC is but just in case, will use the purity judgment to give her a +2 to her fort save

fort: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 6 + 2 = 15

The inquisitor tried to shake off her queasiness as she fought against the life being squeezed out of her. It was all too obvious that she needed to extricate herself immediately from her precarious situation. She used what strength she had to try and elbow the creature in its face and then she dropped downwards as dead weight hoping it would be enough to break the otyughs' hold on her.

CMB to escape grapple: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17

Here's hoping it works but I have my doubts...
