A huge rat appears before you and hisses. It paws at the ground and prepares to leap.

As ryuu's turn to take the test comes he prepares himself mentally and physically. He steps up into the "ring" and draws his blade, a complete calmness falling over him.

The rat is poised to strike, Ryuu awaits the beasts instinctive assault, He can see the blood lust, the hatred in it's not-so-beady eyes.
As the rat makes a great leap towards Ryuu, he instinctively blocks with his free hand, catching the rat in the underbelly and lifting it High above his head and behind him. During this same motion he twists, so that he aligns his hip with the now falling rat. In a precise, well practiced motion, he Kicks out with tremendous force, aiming at a vital point on the rat, hoping to either stun or kill it with a single blow, as to avoid unnecessary suffering.
I have faced worse than you my friend..

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
stunning fist, DC 15 fort save

as the kick lands home Ryuu completes the movement coming into full circle so that once again he is facing the rat, He again shifts into a defensive stance, prepared to block yet again should his blow not have been enough.

Zanac walks towards the priest as he slides a shuriken from his pouch and into his hand, ready to throw as soon as the beast appeared. The priest raised his hands and the large rat appeared in front of Zanac, ready to fight.

"Well you're a nasty fellow aren't you?" Zanac says with a grin as the large rat materialized from the Ether. Even while talking Zanac's ninja training was in effect and before his sentence had even finished a shuriken was hurtling towards the beast.
Shuriken Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Shuriken Damage + sneak attack: 1d2 + 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + (5) + 4 = 11
Free action to pull a Shuriken, standard to throw, move action to pull katana.
Targeting flat-footed AC since firing before they have a chance to act, thus triggering sneak attack assuming hit.

By the time the shuriken had reached the beast, Zanac had already drawn his katana and was settled in a reactionary stance on the off-chance he missed the beast's vitals with his first attack.

Graxzos strides forward, goggles down. "C'mon, then, I haven't got all day!" he calls to the priest. "Bring out the big stuff!"

The huge rat appears in front of him, and Graxzos snorts derisively. "This the best thing you got?"

The rat starts towards him and, almost too quickly to follow, Graxzos pulls out his pistol, cocks it, and fires at the rat, grazing it. Even as the smoke from the pistol clears, he spins backwards, holstering his pistol in the same movement he uses to flip his specially-rigged shield off his back and onto his arm, drawing his waraxe with the other hand. He plants his feet. "C'mon, ya toothy bugger!" he taunts.

Pistol Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Damage: 1d8 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + (1) = 2

Those are some terrible, terrible rolls. :P Anyway: free actions for drawing weapons, standard to shoot, spending a grit point to deal extra damage, grazing the rat for 1 point (even if I miss). Then move back 20' to try to get the rat to run at me and exhaust itself.

EDIT: Got suspicious of my own plan, did a quick search to clarify my understanding of Quick Draw. I still need to spend a move to put away the gun, so the movement here will be just a free action 5' shift. My bad!

The rat thing senses the blow, and as it sails overhead, shifts it's bulk away from Ryuu's foot. A glancing blow does no real damage. As it twists in the air, it positions it's teeth to catch the exposed region under the monk's leg.

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Ryuu slips past the attack easily, and the rat drops directly in front of him.

I assumed you readied an action to attack when the rat entered your threatened area, but declare that explicitly in the future. In addition, reposition is a combat maneuver that needs to be declared as well. Be creative, but follow the rules. If any of my assumptions were incorrect, make sure you are more clear in your description. I recommend giving the colorful description, then an ooc section with explicit Pathfinder rules afterward.

The shuriken lodges in the thick skin and matted fur above the left foreleg of the beast but does no apparent injury. It lunges for your throat.

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

But it's teeth snap shut feet away from you. The beast's eyes flash in frustration as it prepares another lunge.

Zanac cursed as his shuriken didn't even break the skin. "My master sure as hell won't be happy if he hears about that one." he thinks to himself. Zanac realizes he doesn't have time for idle thoughts as the feral beast lunges for his throat. A quick sidestep and the rat misses by a good distance, landing right next to him. Well this is going poorly xD. We can't hit a rat to save our lives

Elidon is going total defense +4AC. Byron is hiding behind her prepping a vile of Vermin Repellent to throw.

The beast looks to either side of the golem. It senses that it's teeth will find no flesh here, but it understands the whirling clicking thing is in its way. It hisses to warn 0042B off, then snaps at the golem's shifting gears

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

but more in warning than in true aggression.

One of the watchers, a rotund dwarf covered in brass rings, shouts from the milling watchers, "There are two of them! Where is the other beast?!"

The head priest nods to one of the acolytes, who repeats the earlier chant. A second rat thing coalesces from the aether to challenge Byron and 0042B.

Boy, that Haffazz is a bastard huh?

You suggested that we could fight in groups, but you haven’t confirmed in the Recruitment thread. Rasim and Vathan would fight together or solo if it’s easier for you. I’m posting this a little vague with respect to Rasim to account for either of your options. Cheers!

While the Gnome Musketeer waits his turn, he quietly discusses tactics with Rasim and shows him how to prepare a musket. Vathan unshoulders his musket and pulls out the small wad of paper that protects the barrel from dust and water. He rams in the ball to confirm that it had not moved and checks the flint. All these movements are done with unconscious practice from muscle memory. When his turn came, he is ready.

Round 1

After the last contestant is carried away by servants, Vathan enters the circle with his musket ready in front of him. The crowd is unsure what to make of him. He is small with an unpopular weapon, but his armor and professional steps are known to a few. Wagering on him does not favor the rat.

When the rat appears kicking up a small cloud of dust, Vathan brings the musket to his shoulder, inhales, and pulls the trigger after a moment to center himself and aim. Flame jets from the barrel hurtling the ball toward the rat followed by billowing smoke and thunder. With practiced ease, he releases the ramrod from its sheath and places the musket butt on the ground. He pulls an alchemical cartridge from his waterproof bag and tears it open with his teeth. He dumps the powder, the wad, and bullet into the barrel and rams it home with two taps. He sheathes the ramrod under the barrel and steps up presenting the musket in front of him ready for the rat’s charge.

Was I able to use my repellent in the first round? If so does Byron now have a new action after this creature was summoned?

if so..:
Byron chuckles. "Amateurs! You think escalating this works to your advantage? Sent a rat do do a eagles job?"

With a snap of his finger Byron summons forth a spirit from another dimension forming into the shape of a large eagle.

Do what eagle's do best.

Sorry, I read prepped and thought you were readying an action. No, you can throw. I will rewrite the post. Because of that, I'm going to let you take back the summoning. Remember, if you use you SLA summoning, you're eidolon is dismissed and it takes 10 rounds to get him back. If that was your intention, keep it.

Vermin repellent has no effect on vermin of small size or larger, and vermin are insects in Pathfinder. Throwing the vermin repellent will give the rat a good flea bath. You are a kind man . . . Erm gnome?

Plus a throw still requires an attack roll. Give me one if you still wish to throw.

Satinder glances around, astonished to see that he had won so easily. Few were the moments in his life that he had achieved victory with so little effort. He was accustomed to his bouts requiring a great deal of effort, fighting tooth and nail and even in his victories emerging not much more worse for wear than his opponent.

An invisible weight lifted off of his shoulders and his posture noticeably changed. He seemed… taller somehow. He glanced down at the rat, not feeling pity or remorse at what he must do. This was a trial and whether The Voice was responsible for his victory or not, he would claim his prize. He was one step closer to obtaining this Power that he had been promised, lying dormant somewhere beneath the sands that crunched under his boots.

Satinder will move the remaining 15’ up to the unconscious rat. On his next turn he will spend a full round action to Coup de Grace, attempting to sever its head from its body.

Coup de Grace (falcata): 3d8 + 12 ⇒ (3, 8, 2) + 12 = 25

He beheads the rat with such a powerful strike that the stone rings from the impact of the blow, startling some of the onlookers. The blade easily severs the neck of the creature, becoming embedded into the stone. Satinder has to work it a moment to free it before exiting the combat area.

As it scrambles off, he spins his shield onto his back, grasps his as in both hands, and leaps at the rat.

Unfortunately, the rat darts aside from his (admittedly fairly obvious) attack, and the edge of the ax splinters a chunk off the priests' platform. "I'm beginning to take a dislikin' to that rat," the dwarf mutters, pulling his shield back out and facing it again.

Standard action to attack, free action to put away and pull out the shield (it's a quickdraw shield). Also a free action to weep onto my keyboard. T_T

The rat-thing lifts it's head, exposing its throat and chitters. You imagine it is actively mocking you. It lowers it's maw again and it's pale eyes focus on your throat instead, then leaps!

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

But you knock the beast's head away with your shield. It shakes it's head back and forth twice then stands to await your response.

Aren't you a Zen Archer? You are according to your profile anyways. That means you shouldn't be able to FoB with anything but your bow and arrows and as far as I know you can't attack with multiple throwing weapons without an increase in BAB. I could be wrong of course but I don't think so...

It's from rapid shot, not a flurry (which is also in the profile). I did make a mistake though, both those attacks should be one lower (so 20 and 12 respectively). I fixed it on my sheet as well. My bad.

No worries. It's normally +4 to hit, but I had my melee attack listed as one point too high too. Better to catch it now than later. Must have done that bit late at night or something. :) Rasim's is a bit of an unorthodox build, so I can see how it would be misleading at first glance.
