the best laid plans...

Liberty's Edge

are the devil's playthings.

Reporting for duty, Inquisitor.

Please note that I used the 40 I got from selling the stub revolver to give a mono upgrade to the sword and the 300 got me the body glove. The rest of the poor quality clothes I retained to cover up the body glove.

...are there for the GM to screw us over with.
Reporting for duty.

Liberty's Edge

Gaius, since Seth Loki is more warrior than scholar, I leave the forbidden lore checks to you ;-)

Male Forge World Omnicron -DX Born Verispex Adept FP 3/5

Any knowledge is good knowledge, oh wait exept in the 41st millennium. Oh crap!!

Will see what I can do, although imperial world born goes against that.

Void Born Cleric

Worry not, Gaius. Knowing the works of the Emperor and his sacred servants shall allow you to discern clearly the works of heretics and defilers.

If you guys need a character sheet with semi-updated skills, I have my character sheet available as a link on my alias' profile. Just download it and fill in the spaces. It is Form-fillable. Secondly, if you need to update you basic skills, I am about 90% positive I have them all under my basic skills if you want to copy-pasta.

Male Human Sentry, Wounds: 8/13 Fate: 3/3 Special 1/1 WS:26; BS:42; S:42; T:40; Agi:30; Int:54; Per:41; WP:38; Fel:34

And if you learn too much, your friendly neighbourhood scum is here to put a bullet in the back of your head.

Checking in. I think I've mostly completed the updates, just had one characteristic question which I sent in a PM reply to the GM.

Glad to be on board.

All cleared up, characteristics updated, and all good to go.

Liberty's Edge

Inquisitor, Seth disdains the use of guns so though it may place him at a disadvantage he will not use them.

Sorry about the delay all. I have a question, does the Melee Weapon Training (Primitive) cover something like a chainsword? I'm not sure what other category something like that would fall into.

Also Seth, you are in good- well, I don't know if I'd call it good company. . .You are in company among our group, Solon is about equally accomplished with ranged and melee weapons, but prefers nothing better than to see the enemies of the Emperor cut to pieces by his hand.

I figured out the answer, which means that I still need to find a rare to get. I also need to do some work stat out my weapons and armor, but other than that, I think I'm good.

Athasian Halfling Druid/Monk 4 (Heirophant 2) || HP: / || AC: (T: / FF:) || CMD: || Fort:+ Refl:+ Will:+ || Init:+ || Perception:+

Ok, for anyone seeking to buy armor, may I recommend:

Flak Cloak: all, AP 3, 8 kg, 80 thrones, scarce

You will probably note this differs from the Core Rulebook (depending on which printing you have); it was updated in the Errata. So yes, it is 20 thrones less than a flak jacket yet covers an extra location.

Assume that this wears as basically armored robes.

Athasian Halfling Druid/Monk 4 (Heirophant 2) || HP: / || AC: (T: / FF:) || CMD: || Fort:+ Refl:+ Will:+ || Init:+ || Perception:+

@Wolfman/Solon: Check your math below (copied from your stat thread in the recruitment section):

Agility: (3, 8) = 11 + 20 = 21 should be 31
Intelligence: (2, 5) = 7 + 20= 27
Perception: (7, 5) = 12 + 20 = 21 should be 32

also, don't neglect to spend any Characteristic points granted to you in your acceptance email.

You could also purchase a chain weapon now, be rubbish at it, then get better once you are trained in it. Melee weapon training (chain) is available for 100 experience in your next rank, though if you would like to take it now I would allow you to buy it for 300 experience...

Male Hiveworlder-Volg Penal Legionaire

Sgt. Solvitus enters the room with a lit Lho Stick and a snarl on his face that helps accentuate the multiple scares on his face. He is dark skinned and wearing flak-armor that hides his otherwise thin body. The explosive collar around his neck seems to be worn with pride.

"Sgt. Solvitus reporting in." He offers a lazy salute and offers slight head nods to the rest of the team.

Ooh, I do like that idea. Especially since a chainsword could have a good deal of utility as well. For morale purposes, you see.

Can I retcon this, Inquisitor? Say Seth prefers not to use guns but he will if he has to. That way I can maintain the stats as is.

Moreover, re-reading the info on Volg Hive suggests that they have a gun-culture there.

Void Born Cleric

I think you should stick with your aversion to guns. You could always wield a crossbow with mono-bolts if Taalik will allow it.

Void Born Cleric

Skarr is prepared to serve the Ordo Hereticus.

I think, in a 40k game, that avoiding a prohibition on guns is a good idea. Refusing to use guns gets people killed.

On another note, to the GM, what's the current IC setting? I'm happy to check in on the gameplay thread, but I don't know where we are so I'm afraid I'll describe things incorrectly.

Male Forge World Omnicron -DX Born Verispex Adept FP 3/5

Also do we already know each other? Or are we meeting for the first time?

Void Born Cleric

I agree with the hazard of having an aversion to firearms. However, we have six other people with firearms on point. Some of us are carrying two or three firearms as well. I feel as though a psyker will have more options in combat that we cannot provide that they should be focusing on. To boot, we have four people here who all have BS as a cheap advance.

Athasian Halfling Druid/Monk 4 (Heirophant 2) || HP: / || AC: (T: / FF:) || CMD: || Fort:+ Refl:+ Will:+ || Init:+ || Perception:+

You have all been in the employ of Inquisitor Amun for less than a year; some as recent as a few weeks. You may have worked one or two minor missions, but mostly in a tertiary role. Unless you and another player have a specific plot idea that you want to share thus tying you together, you do not know each other.

Is this first scene the waiting room for a meeting with the Inquisitor (or his higher ranking agents)? Sort of a meet and greet?

Athasian Halfling Druid/Monk 4 (Heirophant 2) || HP: / || AC: (T: / FF:) || CMD: || Fort:+ Refl:+ Will:+ || Init:+ || Perception:+

Indeed, you are on point. I will post the first game post today describing how things start.

Male Hiveworlder-Volg Penal Legionaire

My instructions in my PM was to post in Gameplay after posting here. My post is pretty universal, but if it is off just ignore it.

Athasian Halfling Druid/Monk 4 (Heirophant 2) || HP: / || AC: (T: / FF:) || CMD: || Fort:+ Refl:+ Will:+ || Init:+ || Perception:+

Nope, totally dolid SlimGrim, and exactly what i was looking for. My response was to Praetus' request for in character setting.

Athasian Halfling Druid/Monk 4 (Heirophant 2) || HP: / || AC: (T: / FF:) || CMD: || Fort:+ Refl:+ Will:+ || Init:+ || Perception:+

@Seth Loki Did you see my PM regarding armaments?

Liberty's Edge

Yes inquisitor. Will amend when I get home.

Liberty's Edge

Hehehe prejudices and stereotypes coming to fore

It IS 40K after all, now if we could somehow get a sanctioned xeno in the mix as well...

Liberty's Edge

Preferably an Ork lol

Hahaha, we are decidedly the poster boys for "Ragtag bunch of misfits", we're even misfits amongst ourselves.

Void Born Cleric

I think once the ball starts rolling, people will either die or things will run smoothly. Either way, things will run smoothly.

Liam's pretty easy to earn respect from, be good at guns.
Failing that, be good at surviving.

Void Born Cleric

I enjoy your character already, even if we end up butting heads for some reason. Plus, you are certainly mission essential.

Male Forge World Omnicron -DX Born Verispex Adept FP 3/5

Who would have though it, not even on the transport and we have been a hair's breadth from all out party war! Didn't expect to be one of the peacemakers as the adept. Loving it already! Kinda makes me think of the game 'Paranoia' if anyone knows it.

We played Paranoia here lol

Void Born Cleric

This is starting to look a lot like Diplomacy.

Void Born Cleric

Solon just referred to Solvitus as "SlimJim." That's good stuff.

. . .Oh, my bad. I didn't realize that wasn't his nickname until you pointed that out. . .

Liam McGregor wrote:

I was thinking more in the line of "Our Merry Band of Sociopaths" lol

Liberty's Edge

Skarr, we have not really bonded yet. So unless the inquisitor rules otherwise....

Void Born Cleric

Proven Innocent dictates that you believe the Inquisition is infallible. The Inquisition has chosen each of us to work together and that is a cell. You are compromising the mission with the intent of violence. Bond doesn't matter, this is law.

I should have quoted the infallible part.

Will wait for a ruling from the GM.
