Flori will cast haste on her 5 companions and herself, giving them 30' extra movement, 1 extra attack on a full attack, +1 to hit, and +1 dodge bonus to AC and reflex saves. She'll use her movement to reposition herself to possibly cast it on the captain and anyone else who can fire on the carpet flyers.
If all she can do is hang on, that's what she'll do.
(I find it funny you can now run back and forth across the deck faster with the haste)
Fubar
Maeltheron
Marious
Chellid
Flori
Both Arrows sink into the flesh of the riders , as they do so Chellid the Halfling roars , IN THE NAME OF GOD I ABJUERE THEE , and throws a vial of oil at one of them , hitting the underside of the carpet.
Flori hastens her companions and Marious retrieves his sword from the pile of gear it had been laying in when they boarded.
One of the riders curses and waves his scimitar off and the carpets depart.
Chellis turns . 'Dammit man , this is to important to waste our lives and time on your lovemaking...'
When he says that , you are taken back to the moment the current circumstances enveloped and hence taken you halfway around the world.....
....Fubar the Paladin and Chellid the Halfling are standing in an antechamber of the bishops study, Fubar in his martial robes , Chellid in simple friar robes.
OK, I'm confused, did we just jump in time, or are we still on the boat and just recalling what happened? Are Fubar and Chellid the only ones there, and who is Chellid, NPC? I think I missed something.
As Fubar and Chellid enter the Bishops office , they see inside a rather pallid looking young man with long hair and a beard sat next to a rather pompous looking man in luxuriant robes and gold chains.
'Ah Fubar , Chellid, Welcome , May I introduce Marious Bagdati, and Promise Hapolo , Gentlemen , Chellid and Fubar, two promising young men in the service of the church'
As you sit , Marious , belches and scratches.
Looking rather non plussed , the clergyman skips on.
'Promise here is with the CityWatch , he has in the past few hours , encountered a problem with which he , and the city fathers , need some guidance upon.'
Bagdati , interupts . 'WE have have had some issues with graverobbers stealing from our tombs, but there is a whiff of necromancy about this as the tombs have been broken out from , not into, sealed tombs mind you , not graves, Promise here has some experience in , hunting down and finding criminals , but not with the undead, which is why we come to you'
Chellid looks over at Fubar.
'How may we be of assistance.....I assume you need some help vanquishing the undead.'
"Mah expereince wit undead is limited, I am better at channeling divine power, but only fer healin, not fer offense o defense. I have a spell tha aids me ganst ghosts, perhaps there is another better suited...."
Promise replies to Fubar taking care not to interrupt Mr.(mayor?)Bagdati.
"Do not sell yourself short. You have specialized skills, training and the favor of the gods. If this is a case of necromancy you will be pivotal in solving it."
(sorry guys , had a small prob with a laptop and a glass of wine over the weekend.)
(just to clarify , Fubar, Promise and Chellid are the only ones here atm)..
Bagdati starts to fluster , ' We cant have people breaking out of there coffins, its a bad example for the town...something must be done...I insist Archbishop , your men here must help'
Chellid stands up , smiles , 'Sir , I understand your concern' He turns to Promise, "Investigator Hapalo is it ? I for one feel this is of the utmost importance, not only for the safety of the town , but state of its finances too', Bagdati misses the sarcasm in the young Halfings voice as he emphasises that the saftey is more important than the financial wellbeing. "What say you?"

Promise's face looses any expression as he replies, "Necromancy has it's uses. Healers can draw on its power to cure those at the very threshold of death. In my own work the dead have occasionally pointed the way when more traditional methods have stalled. However uncontrolled necromancy can kill a city faster than any army. We will find the truth. If death-mages or some dark cult is behind this they will be stopped and brought to judgement. The greatest weapon in this type of crime is secrecy and we have taken that weapon away. I have every confidence that we will uncover the truth very soon."[/b]
"Of course , the church will be well compensated your...bishopness , if this matter is cleared up....and I have a personal favour to ask, my son , a good lad , just a little misguided at times, a quest like this will make him a man....would you ascent to this?"
The fat councillor sweats a little when this is mentioned and looks at the Archbishop expectantly..
Taking a seat thankfully the human warrior props a boot on the table and leans back in his chair to help throw back his pint.
When the drink is have gone he sits the chair back on all fours and puts his feet on the floor. "That was good!" he exclaims wiping his face with the back of his hand. My name is Marious. I have forgone my family name and taken up the life of an adventure. I guess I should add the customary suffix, don't you?"
"Marious the Great."
"Marious the Strong."
"Marious the Handsomest Man in All the World. Not quite sure yet so still deciding."
Finishing off his drink and motioning a barmaid for another he turns back to the elf. "What about you? Only one name as well?"
Maeltheron Timmerond, originally of Kyonin Forest, but banished long ago. I am normally not a good samaritan, but being strung up for frolicking with a forbidden lady seemed a bit out of line. So, what type of adventure do you seek, besides that of the unwanted suitor?
"I haven't gotten to pick and choose what falls into my lap. Thanks love," Marious says as the barmaid drops off his new drink, giving her a big smile. "Sure wish that was the way it worked though."
*gulp* *gulp*
"Fought an evil druid once. Crazy bugger was trying to turn a whole village into living undead? How is that possible? Your either living or your the living dead, right? Some odd extract he was putting into their water supply. Corton said it would give him control of the folk, but I wasn't to much for the why. I just chased him out of his hole and made sure he thought twice about coming back."
"Sure do wish he wouldn't have gotten away," he adds then shrugs. "Ah well he'll get more of the same should he return."
"And then there was the time I walked into an old cave looking to get out of the rain, and..." he notices he is doing a lot of the talking.
"Sorry, what do you do besides save wronged men from the mob?" he asks taking another drink.
"Misguided! Indeed perhaps a chance at guidance is needed!"
"My sense is tha man is capable in many ways, perhaps a ruffian or a rogue, tha needs a chance to do tha right thing when it actually matters. Outrunnin tha town guard is good practice, but will not guide a man's future."
Maeltheron puts his drink down and leans in towards Marious, and says quietly with a half smile as he pats the Long Bow strapped to his back.
I am known as second story expert, and I am very adept at eliminating problems from a distance, all for the right amount of coin. More of a mercenary than an adventurer, but I would not pass up any such escapades for the right price.
"Hmmm... wish I could offer you some type of reward but," Marious says holding is hands up and apart as if to say - I got nothing, sorry.
His face gets strangely controted as if he is sucking on a bad lemon and he burst out. "Aww.. but I can't leave this debt unpaid."
Looking lost in deep thought for a minute his eyes brighten as an idea hits him. "If you will have me, I will stick around and find a way to return the favor. And if not maybe we will find a boat load of money and after taking equal shares I can pay you for the service you rendered unto me."
I will agree to accompany you for the profit that we both seek. Let us see what we can scrounge up for the next job after laying low for a little bit to let the smoke blow over from your recent dalliance, shall we? We should secure us some rooms away from the part of town you just escaped...maybe on the rich side of the tracks.
