That's good news. :)

When you have had a chance to look over Amalgus' sheet, please let me know if he will work for your game concept.

I am thinking of an arcae trickster or an oracle. I wanted to know if there is a location we are gathering or if we should assume that we are to be summoned, abducted and so on.

Grand Lodge

And here's Whack-a-Rogue's other submission. Adalric of Thrane is a big-game hunter who's grown bored of Golarion's creatures. Hopefully this Grand Voyage will lead to more interesting prey.

Just need to add traits and gear him up. :-)

I will be making the final decision at about noon. So I hope you guys have at least backstory ready by then. For reference my time now is 8:22.

You don't give much time.

I withdraw. Life demands more than you are offering.

I will still be at work then. I have a few ideas. The submission I would have made day one I held back because there was already a bard in the mix. I will see what I can get in.

Brelar Darheek, I like him but he is missing a key detail.

Kala Kana, sounds interesting, but I'm curious as to whether the madness will flavor the character or make them difficult to work within the party.

Alec Ritous, I actually like the concept but it feels like his connection to the concept is really thin, can you expand it a bit?

Leila Redtistle, Sounds solid but could you expand the backstory a little?

Amalgus I actually think he is a fascinating concept, although how would you be joining the group? Also you are missing a magic word. If you can add that level him up to 6th your construct traits easily make up the value of a level.

Ravingdork/Bein Brennil I don't have any details on your character so what is like I can't access your original link for some reason.

Aldaric I think the character concept is cool but I don't see any backstory.

Lastly I was planning on you guys being in or near the River Kingdoms when you leave. Although Varisia might do in a pinch.

Keep in mind I don't need the full character to make my decision just the magic word and a backstory. If I still have spots by noon I add more as I get concepts

Grand Moff Vixen I'm sorry I hope you find a fun game out there. I know life and gaming can conflict and life always takes priority. Good luck out there.

Is this still open? I can get something ready if so.

Scarab Sages

Okay... now that I'm feeling somewhat human ....

Name: Kimizu
Race: Vanara
Class: Unarmed Fighter 5/Martial Artist 2

Magic Word:

Grand Voyage

Background:

Kimizu has a secret name: Yáo Wukong. The Monkey's Pearl.

Kimizu has a secret. Kimizu's father is Sun Wukong, the Stone Monkey King! At least, that is what Kimizu's mother told her. She told her, too, that her real name is Yáo Wukong, but no one in the village would accept that, so Kimizu is Kimizu to the village. The village doesn't like Kimizu's father. After all, what sort of responsible man waltzes into a village, marries a young doe-eyed Vanaran Girl, gets her pregnant then leaves two days after the baby was born? To the village, Kimi's father is a no-good lout, and they see him only with scorn.

That's fine to Kimizu. She didn't want to tell them about his secret anyway. Kimi's mother, well, they see her as delusional. After she refused to remarry, even when it was obvious 'that one' wasn't coming back, she was still in love with him and rebuffed any wisdom the elders had to offer. So Kimi's mother, she is delusional and insane. Kimi doesn't like that, but her mother told her it was for the best.

But that left Kimi to be raised by EVERYONE in the village. Vanaran children are known to be a bit ... curious. After all, when you have little ones that can climb before they can even walk, who wouldn't be curious! Kimizu was just like the others in that way - full of bright innocent smiles, and wide-eyed curiosity. It wasn't that she was a trouble maker, it was just that trouble found her - constantly. The village tried everything, and Kimizu liked everything. That, perhaps, was the problem. Kimizu liked trying everything for a bit, but settled into nothing.

Though, Kimizu did find out she had a knack for the quarterstaff when she started training with the village guard. That was fun. And despite their best efforts, she just would not be trained in traditional fighting styles. But that seemed to be as much a boon to her, as a distraction to her opponents. Thus, a compromise was formed.

When Kimizu was old enough to be considered an adult, she started packing. She borrowed her favorite things from the entire village, and no one seemed to notice that they were missing. At least not before Kimizu left.

Just before she left, her mother pulled Kimizu aside. She gave the young girl a stone monkey symbol. Kimi's mother insisted that her father left it for her when he left. Kimi's eyes filled with wonder, and the monkey smiled back at her. Putting on her brightest smile, Kimmizu hugged her mother, then slipped out of the village in the darkness.

After all, she didn't want to be around when Red-Furred Ginjou realized she had taken her most favorite, and his best, shirt!

Since then, Kimizu has been wandering, finding adventure and FUN! where she could. Oh, and spreading the word of Sun Wukong - never mentioning that She, Kimizu, was the Monkey King's daughter. People would think she was lying - and she wasn't about to lie about something /THAT/ important ... or that true.

Kimizu once saved a Vanara village from stampeding, well, bouncing, leech swarms. Those were nasty. She even managed to hold off the invasion of a tree-top community from termites of unusually large size. She even, in a more serious note, helped put some wandering, vengeful ghosts to rest. Those human ghosts were pesky things. Oh, and there was this incident with a Demon... or was that a Daemon .. maybe it was a devil. It wanted to kill a lot of innocent people and that just didn't seem like something fun at the time - so Kimizu helped stop him - her - it. Not that anyone from her home village believed her. But that didn't matter to Kimizu. She knew what she had done.

And so did her father.

Abbreviated Statblock:

I don't have Hero Forge so I use Mythweavers to build on. Saves paper.

Submitting Karrick.

Liberty's Edge

Backstory's been updated and expanded. :-)

Still open and will be until I finish picking players. I will make most of my decision in a few hours.

OK, well what do you need? Archer? melee? (I'm not overly big on casters)

Party Balance Ha! Although some skilled characters wouldn't be amiss.

Well either idea is a lore warden, so there will be plenty of knowledge skills. If you need someone more for trap stuff, that would be a different build.

Also Karrick makes me smile, because if he gets picked then the party is doomed to a Pitch Black encounter.

Lore Warden Sounds good.

Well how about I try the archer/taxidermist? I'll be back in a sec with the build.

<.<
>.>

You don't like to stuff monkeys, do you?

Random Stuff:

Actually, while I'm thinking of it, I'll try to roll for HP!
HP: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (3, 7) + 4 = 145d10 + 10 ⇒ (10, 6, 7, 5, 10) + 10 = 48 +5 for FC which makes it um... 48+19=67
Yup, like that one ... if I can do math right!

I actually like monkeys alot I'll have to tell you guys how I figured out how to make a monkey/pirate/ninja/cyborg in Eberron once. I think Kimizu is solid, I'm assuming the reason you threw money at this adventure was because it sounded like more fun than anything ever had?

Thanks for getting the reference ;)

I've pretty much plucked him out of a lethargy-doomed PbP I was in with him this year and advanced his timeline two years. I fell in love with the character.

OH! Totally!
I mean ... Golarion is cool and all, but you can only go EVERYWHERE so many times before it's just the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over ...

Ooo, what's that?!

OK, here we go with the taxidermist.

Grand Lodge

I'm playing a different version of Brelar in a Shattered Star game, and it would be cool to see him at level 7 running around the solar system. His Numerian background just makes that a natural fit, but then the idea of actually forking him and running two different versions at once seems like more mental judo than just playing something else.

Kala Kana has definitely been touched by dark forces, but I would not play him as a foil to the party to be disruptive, but he could represent a interesting addition to the a party. He knows about the things out there but wants to know more. Weather that quest for knowledge ends ill or well, that probably depends on the help from his friends :) He could maybe be true N rather than CN, but I don't really see him with anything L, G or E in there. And the build ended up like a bad-ass support character IMO.

Hmm I think that works well then for Kala Kana.
Henrick amuses me because I can see the party desperately battling a monster with him shouting, "Don't break the face! NO NO NO! Don't set it on fire!" So he can stuff and mount it later.

Yeah, I could definitely see him doing that "NO! not the acid!"

Join the Chaos, Kala! JOIN US!

Awww, but nothing says it's been a fun night like a broken nose!

OK! Off to work! Back in a few hours!
Whether Kimizu is picked or not, this has been fun, Tobaris! Thanks for the opportunity!

EDIT:
Note to self ... remember about the 'Post As' button at the bottom. USE IT!

Fleshed out the background alitle bit more. If Leila gets to take the long trip I plan to expand it weaving in the other companions if it suits the campain.

crossfingers

Oh I like that! Leila Sounds fun.

This is Gnomezrule's Alias. No crunch yet. I am planning on Oracle of Desna. Metal revelation.

Bazzle has no been in any campaigns yet but I have remade him a few times. He could just as easily be an arcane trickster, prankster bard, or rogue. I am open to filling a role if its needed.

Alrighty The Characters I'm going with are:
Amalgus
Leila Redtistle
Bazzle Blast-hazard
Henrick the collector
Kala Kana
Karrick
While this is one more than I was planning I think it will work well
I think I will set this in starting on the archipelago just off the coast of Varisia.
Feel free to bring your characters together and you may throw up other concepts for secondary characters.
Now Amongst those chosen I'd like to hear your vote, Either Portals or Spaceships.

Sweet - Spaceships!

Karrick rides again, woo!

Also you have my vote for SpaceAetherships from Verces!

I think portals would be less complicated and they actually suit the established campaign information.

Kala Kana grew up in the shadow of the Doorway...portals!

Karrick wrote:

this!

This can change for the campaign. But Tressle from my back story I was thinking is from a crashed aethership. But I am game for whatever works I am gonna adjust the story to get him close to varisia.

Wait, I'm done in by a glitch, with no chance at all? :(

I spent half the night working on that character... *sob*

Try this link.

Makes me wonder why you even invited me. You're totally going to regret not having such an awesome character (and player) in your game. ;P

Liberty's Edge

Oh well, maybe another time. Good luck everyone! *speeds off in a cloud of dust*

If I can get at your character Ravingdork I will give it a chance. Don't assume I'm going to screw you just because of connection problems. I invited you because you looked like you would be interested in my style of game.

I like the character and I like the familiar. I'm fine with such a character in the group unless anybody has a problem, although I will put a quick stamp on any whining.

I'll have the new improved Amalgus up and running in an hour or two.

As for how he'd join the group, he could be wherever the group ends up, or he could have been deactivated for a long time, and they could get him out in the sun and turn him back on again.

I'm open to anything really.

I have an idea I will PM it you.

My whining or the familiar's whining?

So far it seems that we got 3 votes for space(aether)ships, 2 for portals and one open to anything. However, Henrick makes a good point about portals being easier to integrate into the game with minimum hassle. Never realy played it, but I guess the spelljammer suplement(s?) for 3.5 and ad&d would be a good start for a shipbound campain.

Btw, what timezones are people in ? I'm gmt +1

I'm just about done. I just have to pick equipment and finish tweaking my eidolon.

@Leila - GMT - 5 here.
