As soon as the drake appeared, Nhati wasted no time in sending a barrage of magic their way. The lower of the two, skimming across the water towards Suny, takes a pair of arcane bolts in the wing--but is not deterred from trying to make a meal of the elf!

Luckily, Suny has no intention of standing around to become a meal today. With a quick dash and a forward dive, she not only vanishes from view once more, but disappears into the river's waters. The drake flying at the surface of the river takes a wide glance across the river, searching for his meal but finding nothing. With a growl equal parts anger and frustration, the drake turns its attention to the shore-side company. The nearest target--and rapidly approaching--was Reijo. The drake plopped its great mass into the shallow banks of the river and turned its attention upon Reijo. Seemingly with a grin, it launches a ball of acid directly at Reijo's feet!

Reijo must make a DC 14 Reflex save or take 10 acid damage and become entangled! Half damage and no condition on a save.
Edit: Actually, going to roll for you to avoid having to retcon your actions. Hope that's alright!

ReijoRef: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

The airborne drake circles around the group and spies down upon you, looking for a target. As Nhati's hands crackle with more arcane energies, the drake plummets towards the earth and lands with a resounding thud. It glares at Nhati for a brief moment before lashing out! Its razor sharp teeth penetrate straight through the layers of protective magic and get a good piece of Nhati's midsection. Her clothes in tatters, the drake huffs what sounds like a laugh before flapping wildly to return to the skies! Despite the wound, Nhati lifted her hands and sent another barrage of magic towards the one still on the ground.

Nhati takes 11 points of damage, and the drake provokes an AoO from her and anyone adjacent as it takes flight again. It is only about 20 feet up at this point.

Reijo bounds over the acidic ball, suffering only minor splash damage from the caustic substance as it burns through his pantleg and continues his charge. He splashes forward into the water without so much as slowing, bringing his cutlass in low below the drake's wing and straight for its tail. The blade slices through the thinner scales of the dragonkin's tail and sends a splash of dark blood into the river's clear waters. Unfortunately not flanking since Suny bailed, but still a hit!
1d6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 3 + 1 = 6

Ol' Salty, already feeling sick from being covered in the drake's disgusting attack, works rapidly to scrape the goop from his lower body. Luckily, his adamantine dagger appears to cut through mucus as well as it does everything else. In seconds, he's removed most of the offending goo and restored full motion to his sea legs!

It doesn't really solidify... it's more like being hit with a big ol' snot ball with caustic properties. You can take an additional reflex save on your turns to get out, use escape artist, or just scrape it all off. It may or may not do extra damage for every turn you're covered in the stuff, though...

Still need Viktorra's R6 action and Suny still has a standard she can use.
@Suny--if you want to try to stabilize the drake as you tie it up, I'll allow a handle animal to work (with an appropriate DC Raise) since it's basically just a big... animal... I guess. Open to other ideas you might have, too :)

Seeing the others piling on the one attacking Reijo, Nhati is worried about the one that just nearly tore her in half; she can't take much more of that! Suny is clearly a much better at rope-tying than bandage-applying, even when those bandages are just weeds and shells. Despite her best efforts, the river grass stuffed into the drake's wounds does not appear to be helping. It is, however, tied up quite well.

Meanwhile, Viktorra dashes forward and into the shallows of the river to help Reijo take down that drake. It rears back as her blade cuts through its scales, blood now rushing down the river in droves. It sinks lower in the water, clearly injured... but also clearly enraged. It lashes out at Reijo, then rapidly sweeps its tail around to strike him across the head. Fortunately Reijo was at home in the water as the drake was--sidestepping the clumsy bite and ducking beneath the sweeping tail with hardly a moment of delay. Returning the blow, his sword catches just a bit of the water's surface, slowing the strike just enough to fail at penetrating the drake's hide!

@Reijo - As is the drake :)

The drake above circles and spots another soft target--the blind man Bellamy! With incredible speed it launches itself across the battlefield and plants itself before Bellamy. Once more the earth shakes as its sizable mass lands, the drake seemingly laughing as it uses its momentum to launch its teeth towards Bellamy's arm. Yet its teeth fail to sink into the man's flesh; its eyes dart to meet the sightless eyes of Bellamy in a mixture of rage and confusion. Insulted, it twists its body around to face the much-tastier Nhati, nearly striking Bellamy with its tail as it does so.

Nhati, now protected by the Ol' Salty's misty shroud, points a finger at the drake now well within her magic's range and lets it fly. The searing blast of fire burns a neat hole through the mist--and through the drake's flesh. The scent of charred meat fills the air as the drake howls with pain.

Suny's efforts to curb the drake's bleeding go roughly as well as last time... though it seems that if you apply enough weeds to a wound, you can slow the bleeding even if you have no idea what you're doing! The drake is still in a bad way, but slightly less bad now--if only for the moment. Meanwhile, Viktorra's second strike manages to hit low on the drake, but glances off of its scales. You can tell from the fury in its eyes that it has quickly learned being sandwiched between two swordsmen is an unpleasant time.

It roars into Viktorra's face, sending spittle and blood across her and her image's clothes. Apparently undeterred by the illusion, it sweeps low with a bite before using the momentum to roll sideways into the river, covering itself under the water.

Vik takes 8 damage!

The other drake, now trapped in the middle of the group, still has its eyes set upon Nhati. It barrels across the battlefield on its ponderous legs, each step shaking the nearby palms. It lifts itself up to its full height, towering over Nhati as it reaches down to pluck her head like a fruit... only for the attack to be glanced far away by the powerful protective magic around her. It stares at her in anger, even as Bellamy creeps up beside it to unleash a cacophony of impossible color. It turns its head to bite the approaching human and instead takes the brunt of the magic head on. It roars in anger as it twists sideways and slows to a near crawl.

The drake is blinded and stunned for 2 rounds, then stunned for another!

Seeing her current opponent dive away, Viktorra turns upon the hampered drake and charges. Unable to even see the attack, let alone avoid it, her blade sinks into the creature's flesh with ease.

As the drake dives deeper into the water, Reijo sloshes forward after it. With the river's banks dropping quickly, the pirate finds the water nearly above his head and still manages to swing his blade at the escaping drake. Yet underwater combat was not exactly his forte--while it was the drake's. It nimbly rolls away from the slowed attacks, and they hardly garner a scratch on the beast's scales.

Meanwhile, Ol' Salty conjures his magic into a mighty wave and hops aboard. As he dashes across the battlefield on the wave, he pulls his dagger and readies for a strike... only for it to slip out of his hand upon entering the river. The dagger sinks quietly, narrowly missing the approaching Suny, and sticks in the softer dirt at the edge of the river's water.

Gliding past the dagger, Suny takes what remains of her rope and approaches the drake slowly. Nearing the drake seemingly undetected, she raises the coil of rope and slips it over one of the drake's legs... when it becomes immediately apparent tying up an awake drake was going to be much, much more difficult. It slips out of the rope without even noticing it, taking a chomp at Reijo's feet before swimming with haste nearly sixty feet upstream. Reijo manages to dodge the blow, but his next sword swing catches the drake's flailing tail and knocks it from his hands. It sinks down and joins Salty's dagger in the riverbed.

Using the first of Reijo's next-round attacks as his AoO... which was unfortunately a natural 1 no matter how you slice it. Suny also gets an AoO, although she's under the drake.

Meanwhile, Viktorra takes advantage of the disable drake and quickly steps forward with another thrust from her rapier. The drake heaves a moan of agony, then slumps to the side. Its breathing is shallow; it is on the verge of death.

The fight's close enough to over I won't bot anyone. The only drake still active is the one in the river, now swimming (rapidly) upstream. That also means Reijo's unable to TWF this round.

"Oh! Hey! You gots one too!" (^_^)

She comes ashore and quickly checks out the prone drake. "Here! We's got'a keep 'em alive an' stuffs." She says anxiously, even as she again tries to help the swooning drake. "Then.. we's got two drakes ta' that other's one." She natters away as she works.

"An' then later.. We's can be workin put whut t'is we're gon'a be doin' with 'em, like" She glances at her companions who're all a tad worse for wear.

"Hey? Where's yer sword?" She asks Reijo absently while she works. (Not going to let that high perception roll go to waste.)

Nhati runs in the direction of the drake swimming rapidly upstream, and then stops and lets loose a couple of blue-greenish bolts of magical force at it.

Casting Magic Missile, which has a 140ft range; hopefully that's enough!

Sorry, got busy around the house. Painting walls, cutting grass. Fun times!

"AYE!" Suny bounces and yells in agreement to Voktorra's views, even as she moves to help restrain the drake sprawled on the grass amngst the party.

"Though, is gon'a take some work ta' get t'other one out'a tha' river...." She glances over a shoulder to where she's left the second drake.

"They are terrorizing the loggers," Nhati says. "And, they're not likely to be creatures we can reason with, to convince them to move their hunting grounds farther away."

Suny scratches her head. "Well.. they's all tied up now." She points out.

"So's... maybe we can, y'know, get 'em thinkin' different like?" Suny hazards.

"We can all'a ways be workin' ta' get 'em behavin'." (^_^)

Suny nods "Oh aye." She agrees with Salty's comment about the drakes being 'people'.

"Still.. lets get 'em healed up an' be seein' if they's people or not, hey?" She suggests with her usual, bright grin, before turning and skipping off back towards the river.

"So... is peoples gon'a help em get t'other one out'a tha' riverm then?" She calls over her shoulder, even as she begins to wade out into the mild current.

...Drakes aren't people...

As the group discusses what to do with the drake, it jumps out of the water and into the waterfall upriver, a pair of arcane bolts chasing after it. As it disappears from view all that remains is the quiet running of the river and a pair of bloody, unconscious drakes.

Reijo headed for shallower water in an attempt to keep up with the fleeing drake. Seeing it disappear from sight when the chase had just begun, he scowls in anger.

"SON'OV A BLOODY DUNGBIE!"

He throws his axe hard into the black, tropical soil. After his rage cools off a bit, he retrieves a cloth to wipe the sweat from his brow, picks up his axe, and heads back to where his cutlass had fallen in the river.

Still angry, he gives Suny and Vik an incredulous stare. "Ye lasses be bloody daft?! Or mad?! Slit'em throats! And be done with'em now."

Reijo approaches the nearer drake. He lifts its limp head apathetically, raising his cutlass to the beast's neck...

Nhati says, "They aren't dumb animals. I suppose it's possible we could reason with them, but they do tend to be very territorial, and despite having some raw intelligence-- they're hardly geniuses, but they have some-- they tend to be feral. I do speak their language. They speak Draconic, the language of all dragons-- does anybody else speak it? We could try talking to them, if you like."

He then sighs and looks at Suny with a grim face.

"Ye got a kind spirit, Suny, but this time y'ask for too much. We ain't got teh time, nor muscle teh relocate em."

Nhati shrugs. "Let's talk to them, see what they say. Make it very clear that we're going to cut their throats if they don't move on and hunt somewhere where they aren't disturbing folk. Maybe they will listen; maybe this has been a little demonstration that this is our territory, and we will defend it. Worst case, at least we gave them a chance before we kill them."

Nhati says, "At best we will be able to convince them that this is our territory, under our protection, and they need to leave the loggers alone. I really don't think we're going to be able to talk them into being, er, pets."

"Why not?" Tai the parrot says in Polyglot as it sits on Nhati's shoulder. "It worked with you!"

Reijo stills his hand while the discussion ensues. He's amazed that there is even a discussion of what to do with the beasts. As Ol' Salty put it, Reijo's motto is to kill or be killed. "An' whats ta stop'em from promisin' truce and then goin' right back ta killin' us an' them loggers? BAH! This be crazy talk!"

But seeing the discussion turn to profit, which is how he interprets Suny's last comment, he queries the half-naked elf with a less angry and more serious tone, "An whatchye gots in mind fer turnin' coin on'em, Saucy?" He looks skeptically at the back of the drake's head in his arm, though, still holding his cutlass to its neck.

Reijo considers how much live and dead drakes and their body parts might be worth on the market:
Appraise: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20

RPG Superstar 2015 Top 32

Reijo:

Live drakes have been sold on the market for a pretty penny, but not only is it rare, it's often insane. Drakes are fiercely independent and only rarely group together (and there's a good reason they're called a rampage when they do). Furthermore, it's certainly slavery by any metric--the beasts are intelligent enough to know well of their captivity. Nevertheless, in the slave markets of Katapesh you can find all manner of flesh for sale... for the right price.

Dead drakes are, of course, less valuable. Various organs are of use to alchemists and magically-inclined folks, but you wouldn't net much more than a hundred gold per drake that way.

You also suspect that, like any good dragon-kin, there's a probability of these drakes having a hoard stashed somewhere near their nest.

Suny smiles, glad that Reijo understands. "Well... We's got two of 'em roped up. Tha' third has gone ta' hidin'. We can least ways get 'em walkin' 'em selves back ta' town an' be seein' who wants what there, hey?" She offers, Though frowns a tad at Reijo.

"I dun't see you gettin' all muscly an' haulin' both they's carcases back ta' town!" She points out. "Which means killin' 'em leaves a lot of spoiling drake mussin' up tha' place."

Suny in't half nekkid.
