So I got my copy of Inner Sea Faiths and couldn't not share this, given our current destination...
That looks wicked! Are you enjoying the book so far? I don't really know why, but I'm a fanatic for the deities of Golarion.
I've only read through my four favorites so far (Besmara at the top of that list, of course), but in skimming the rest it's pretty awesome. I also love Golarion's deities, and I'm not entirely sure why I like them so much better than the pantheons from other settings.

Paizo did do a better job of fleshing out Golarion's deities than 3e did before them imo.
I don't have much of a comparison, since Pathfinder is the only tabletop I've really ever delved into, but yes they are super fleshed out. When I DM, I include a lot of religion in the games.
I'm fascinated by all the deities, but I think my top 3 would be:
- Pharasma
- Desna
- Lamashtu
Actually, I seem particularly drawn to Pharasma and Desna as well. I've got a Pharasmin bard/cleric in PFS, as well as an oracle who is very fond of Desna but also prays to Pharasma in a Carrion Crown game.
Haven't spent a lot of time reading up on Lamashtu yet though. Now I am curious...
3e basically took deities from their Greyhawk setting. I've not read the campaign setting books so maybe I speak out of turn... but the 3e rule books focused more on stats than fleshing out the deities and their stories. Though the Complete Divine supplement did amend this somewhat a few years after the core books were released.

Actually, I honestly don't. Not saying this to brag, but to inform everyone that, if you assume I am reading what you write in a spoiler not addressed to me... I am not. :)
I'd like to imagine most people are pretty honest about reading spoilers and/or separating stuff that isn't spoilered, but are still things your character doesn't know yet.
I actually think it's a lot easier to keep that knowledge separate in a PbP over a live game, where things happen a lot quicker and that little divide isn't so clear (spoiler-tagged or otherwise).
I've spent a ton of time reading about Lamashtu due to Rise of the Runelords campaign (which has Lamashtu themes attached). I interpret her as a demon deity that thinks of herself less as a monster breeding, curse bearing, maniacal laughing deity. Instead, I interpret her as a... bringer of truths. She's about showing the dark things that go bump in the night that everyone desperately turns a blind eye to. It's a cunning kind of deviousness that sends chills down my spine.
Worst vine ever. 3 or 4 attacks and not a single one rolls above 5!

Plus it's 10 times worse to get that sort of slump as a player character!

Hey guys -- sorry about the long delay. I was sort of keeping up during the week I was back, but then at the end of it, coming back pretty tired out (and having not really had a spring break) the start of the routine last week left me not keeping up with various games. I'm going to go catch up now.
Re: spoilers, I (almost) never open them unless I make the relevant skill checks.

Don't worry, no judgments here. Besides, not letting OOC knowledge interfere with your gaming is what counts, and you've certainly got that down. :)
I only mentioned it because I've seen spoilers misused more than once. Watch out for PbP newbies who think it's for posting their combat rounds (including dialogue and narrative), or for ooc discussions... lol.
I'm just too fascinated to not open them! What kind of secrets might they hold?
It's so hard to KNOW that there's a secret stash filled with coins and gems, and not actually know that it's THERE!
Still, whenever I notice my players do it, I'm quite disappointed. I wouldn't want to spoil the game for anyone.
On a different note: Once upon a time I was playing a dwarven barbarian. The barbarian and a human sorcerer decided to celebrate at the tavern after a day filled with victorious battle. The rest of the party were out shopping. Inside the tavern, a harrower summoned a flaming head to attack us, and knocked the sorcerer unconscious in a single hit. My barbarian drew his great axe and... missed. Not once, twice, or even three times. He swung and missed 11 times, threw the axe (which also missed), and then punched it for a crit which killed it.
The flaming head only ever had 10 hitpoints, and an AC of 14.
We were 3rd level.
Fun times, my fishy friend. The most unexpected things make the most interesting memories.

Weren't the brambles circling an open area? And we're navigating around the brambles in the jungle to avoid being exposed? I've been envisioning an open area, encircled by the brambles, and in turn encircled by jungle.

Sorry for the confusion! Behold my amazing artistic talents!
The brambles are about 50 feet wide and, while they appeared to encircle the clearing you were at, also seem to extend for quite a distance in either direction--basically leaving you will a wall of nasty thorny bits cropping up through the jungle.
The path you found is basically a little ditch underneath the brambles, probably dug by something. Or the thing Lil' Fisher found down there. You can duck down and look clear through the other side from whichever side you're standing on, and you can pass through it by squeezing without worrying about getting all cut up in the brambles. This may upset whatever it is you've found in there.
Other options are, of course, limited only by your imagination and ingenuity.
Suny climbs back over to where the rest of the party is still waiting and begins to help them 'Up and over'.

They walk on four legs most of the time, but stand up really awkwardly on two legs sometimes... they're really weird looking critters, basically.
