Ratchet struck the rod on one of the many tools that dotted his armor. The rod lit up with an orange light.

He loaded it into his slingshot and fired it as far down into the dark as he could.

The pit is only 55 feet deep, so anyone with darkvision can see the bottom. I posted a sideview map of the area, since it's not the easiest layout to explain.

You make it down the pit with little difficulty. At the bottom, you find a tunnel leading into darkness with another opening 20 feet up the far wall.

Travigan looks up toward the opening then sighs, "I've got a coil o' rope wi' me. Ye all sit tight an I'll see if I can't climb up there an' lower it down for ye." With a grunt, he adjusts his pack and begins to haul himself up.

Half-orc Wolf Shaman 2, Init +2, AC 19/17, hits 17/25, F+5 R+3 W+5, Perception +8

Ulfak grabs at Travigan but the man is already rappelling upwards. "Give me moment to smell for enemies."

The shaman's nose begins to lengthen and he starts to scent the area, especially where Travigan is headed.

@Ulfak: The whole place stinks, but the upper tunnel seems more sour.

Travigan has little trouble climbing to the upper tunnel and attaching a rope, to aid your own ascent.

Hp 93/93 AC 23 (+14 Perc; +6 Init; Fort +6, Ref +15, Will +8)

Prefect, thanks Trav. So where to now?

Half-orc Wolf Shaman 2, Init +2, AC 19/17, hits 17/25, F+5 R+3 W+5, Perception +8

It lasts a minute so Ulfak will follow Travigan. Climb check 1d20 + 4 - 3 ⇒ (13) + 4 - 3 = 14

Ulfak gives Travigan a few seconds to start down then follows.

"Continuing forward seems to be our only option." Erethyn says as he starts up the rope after the others.

Is that a pile of rubble or skulls at the bottom of the map on the right side!?

Sorry for the delay folks. I'll move us along tomorrow.

The upper tunnel is narrow and winding, forcing you to walk in single file.(Travigan in the front) Turning a bend in the tunnel, Travigan comes face to face with a hulking grimlock warrior carrying a pair of wicked-looking knives.

Initiative rolls:

Travigan: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Erethyn: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Ratchet: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Ulfak: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Sandra: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Enemy: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

Combat
19 Ratchet
17 Ulfak
17 Sandra
10 Erethyn
9 Grimlock
4 Travigan

You are strung out single file in a twisting tunnel. I threw together a quick map to illustrate, but barring someone tumbling through the enemy's space, only one person will be able to attack at a time.

Male Elf Oracle 3 (Hp. 24/24, AC.17, CMD. 15, Fort. +2, Refl. +3, Will. +5, Init. +2, Channel Postive Energy, 2d6, 6/6 per day.)

Erethyn readies his bow at the new threat and fires.

Round 1

Sandra will cast a guidance on Travigan helping him for his next assault

Half-orc Wolf Shaman 2, Init +2, AC 19/17, hits 17/25, F+5 R+3 W+5, Perception +8

Ulfak quickly puts away his scimitar and calls on the power of the land to give him fire. His hand ignites and Ulfak lobs the flames over Travigan at the grimlock's face.

Produce flame throw 1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 - 4 = 3

He puts out the first grenade ball as it drops by the feet of Travigan. Hopefully the man never noticed.

HP 22/24, AC 16, CMD 12, Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +1, Init +3, Perception +6, Traps Check 27 Bombs 6/7, Draught 1/1, CLW Extract 3/4

Ratchet wasn't about to waste a bomb on just one foe. Instead of tossing another bomb he pulled a short javelin from over his shoulder and let it fly.

Ranged Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Move action, draw javelin. Standard action, attack with Javelin. 5' adjust (if necessary) to let someone else in to my slot. I'm not particularly effective when I'm not throwing bombs, so I should get out of the line of fire.

Not waiting for travigan to get back to post

Travigan attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Attack vs travigan: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16

Attack vs travigan: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16

The grimlock whirls and twin daggers flash. Travigan is cut to the bone.

Everybody is up. Travigan's AC is kind of garbage, so if anyone wants to swap with him let me know and we'll do a delay and withdraw combo.

Ulfak calls to Travigan to swop places, meanwhile he readies his scimitar and releases the power of flames from his hand as he grips the leather handle, pulling it out.

The wolf shaman slices down at the grimlock, trying to be as quiet as he can in the step and swing.

After seeing how dangerous the enemy before them was after Travigan was nearly cut down, Erethyn moved in behind Ulfak and blessed him with more protection.

There that should make you feel better

Half-orc Wolf Shaman 2, Init +2, AC 19/17, hits 17/25, F+5 R+3 W+5, Perception +8

Ulfak's AC is 21 now.

The wolfish Shoanti adopts a closed stance, his shield and scimitar tight and legs balanced against attack. There is a faint shimmering in the air around him, like hot waves rising in the desert, signifying the divine magic of Erethyn.

Travigan huffs and puffs in frustrated anger as he's pulled from the front lines and unable to strike back before Ulfak slips between him and the grimlock. "Bah! I 'ad 'im right where I wanted 'im!" He seems to not pay too much attention to the exposed tissue and bone on his left arm, even as Sandra's magics cause the flesh to knit back together. He does extend his right arm though as if to strangle the blind creature on the other side of Ulfak, then seems a little surprised as a thin, jagged beam of ice lances out from his palm.

Ranged Touch, targeting the grid space 5' behind the Grimlock, AC 5: 1d20 + 6 - 4 ⇒ (5) + 6 - 4 = 7

It strikes the ground with a concussive bang.

Thunderstone, targeting behind it so I don't catch Ulfak in the radius. Grimlock needs to make a DC 15 Fort save or be deafened (which I'm guessing will blind it).

They use blindsight, but via hearing seems reasonable. Rachet just set off an increadibly loud explosion in a very small space, so everyone roll DC15 fort saves or be deafened for an hour.

I like your interpretation Fanguar, very old school. Fort save 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16

Then he leaps in with a snarl. His bite aims for the throat and the scimitar for the waist, all savage strength as he throws himself at the weakening beast.

It's only supposed to deafen people within 10 feet of the blast, which is why I tossed it over the grimlock's head. Works for me though. Kinda funny and possibly useful later. Sorry Sandra, I didn't expect that to happen.
