It's not typical rage due to the urban barbarian archetype. No will save bonus. Alas.

Everything ok with everyone?

Hp 93/93 AC 23 (+14 Perc; +6 Init; Fort +6, Ref +15, Will +8)

me ? sure just waiting for things to move...

I don't like DMPCing people (who don't tell me they're going to be away) hopefully they will post soon.

HP 22/24, AC 16, CMD 12, Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +1, Init +3, Perception +6, Traps Check 27 Bombs 6/7, Draught 1/1, CLW Extract 3/4

Sorry, didn't realize it was waiting on me. It's been a busy few days.

retired

Hey guys, just an early head's up - I'll be heading up to a mountain cabin this weekend for an annual camping trip with some old college friends. There's no cell signal, phone line, or any connection to the outside world up there apart from a 30-minute drive down the mountain. As such, I'll be off the grid for the duration, from Friday evening through Monday evening.

retired

Alrighty, friends, I'm getting ready to head out to the Cabin. God willing, I'll be back with you all some time Monday evening. Have fun with your interrogation! =P

retired

everyone still with us? is the interrogation of Filge slowing us down?

Ya, real quiet all of a sudden. Filge still isn't exactly sure what you're asking of him.

Hp 93/93 AC 23 (+14 Perc; +6 Init; Fort +6, Ref +15, Will +8)

i am just waiting to see if the necromancer is telling me what he knows about the abilities str and weakness of the spawn of kyuss but apart of that i am done with the interrogation.

As for what to do with him sandra has no real idea yet. she doesn't know the law regarding possible crimes he did commit.

HP 22/24, AC 16, CMD 12, Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +1, Init +3, Perception +6, Traps Check 27 Bombs 6/7, Draught 1/1, CLW Extract 3/4

I'm here. Didn't have anything else to add, so I was waiting for the interrogation to end.

The Exchange

Ulfak is ready to leave, with or without Filge's warm body. All he cares about is getting back to the Whispering Cairn.

retired

Do we have a consensus as to whether we let Filge go or not? I'm inclined to release him at this point in light of how cooperative he's been. He seems more like a creepy, amoral researcher rather than a malicious, nefarious undead-army-maker.

The Exchange

Fine by me.

Male Elf Oracle 3 (Hp. 24/24, AC.17, CMD. 15, Fort. +2, Refl. +3, Will. +5, Init. +2, Channel Postive Energy, 2d6, 6/6 per day.)

Sorry about that, RL sprung on me and I got sidetracked. I like what we've done here so far. Let's let the man go. I'll post later today.

Male Elf Oracle 3 (Hp. 24/24, AC.17, CMD. 15, Fort. +2, Refl. +3, Will. +5, Init. +2, Channel Postive Energy, 2d6, 6/6 per day.)

Is it in fact Icosiol who is the Wind Duke stabbing the Drider wolf in the 4th image? Or is it a different one who gets pulled into another rift.

Zosiel is the one who disappears.

retired

This is probably the coolest room of any dungeon I've ever stepped into.

Hp 93/93 AC 23 (+14 Perc; +6 Init; Fort +6, Ref +15, Will +8)

the story and 2nd adventure module "The rod of Seven Part" is considered to be part of the most iconic ADD adventures...

retired

we might need to run away here, team!

Male Elf Oracle 3 (Hp. 24/24, AC.17, CMD. 15, Fort. +2, Refl. +3, Will. +5, Init. +2, Channel Postive Energy, 2d6, 6/6 per day.)

Definitely not a fan of it but yeah, if Sandra fails to blind them we have to run. Actually, even if she does manage to blind one, I still say we run.

Hp 93/93 AC 23 (+14 Perc; +6 Init; Fort +6, Ref +15, Will +8)

the one that would be left would be heavily damaged so we do have a good chance to kill it...

retired

Hopefully the one next to Travigan/Ulfak gets blinded and at least one of us survives the round. If so, the conscious one can drag the unconscious one away without provoking.

These guys are super nasty!

retired

Just an FYI - I'm 90% sure at this point that Travigan's next turn will be spent in full retreat while this blinded dude is still blind. =P

Hp 93/93 AC 23 (+14 Perc; +6 Init; Fort +6, Ref +15, Will +8)

oh common you can finish him he is almost dead :)

retired

So are we! =P

Hp 93/93 AC 23 (+14 Perc; +6 Init; Fort +6, Ref +15, Will +8)

then lets kill him first we have the numerical advantage if one of them goes down...

:)

Male Elf Oracle 3 (Hp. 24/24, AC.17, CMD. 15, Fort. +2, Refl. +3, Will. +5, Init. +2, Channel Postive Energy, 2d6, 6/6 per day.)

With our better fighters about to drop, everyone having less than 50% chance to hit on average and these things able to send bursts of sonic energy, it might be time to sound the retreat.

Male Elf Oracle 3 (Hp. 24/24, AC.17, CMD. 15, Fort. +2, Refl. +3, Will. +5, Init. +2, Channel Postive Energy, 2d6, 6/6 per day.)

Right, two members down. Time to withdraw. Erethyn doesn't care about ridicule right now. He out of magic and can't help anyone else today, also he was already pushing for rest before we came here.

When it hits his action again he's going to pick people up take hits for them and run.

Ok. How is everyone out of resources? Did we not rest after the necromancer fight? Because, there should have been a rest after the necromancer.

Male Elf Oracle 3 (Hp. 24/24, AC.17, CMD. 15, Fort. +2, Refl. +3, Will. +5, Init. +2, Channel Postive Energy, 2d6, 6/6 per day.)

Hmm, okay I clearly missed that.

I had thought we were literally just marching from encounter to another. I had made several in game references to the fact that I was almost out of magical resources and we should rest but other members said we should press onward.

If, however, we have indeed rested; then Erethyn is clearly an overly-cautious, (when not being hot-headed,) person who has never been pushed to such extremes before and who also hasn't realized the full extent of his powers.

retired

My understanding was in line with Erethyn's, namely that we didn't rest after our encounter with Filge and made straight for returning the Lands' bones to their grave.

Well, the cairn is like a day out of town, so it would have been possible. I can't force you guys to rest.

Half-orc Wolf Shaman 2, Init +2, AC 19/17, hits 17/25, F+5 R+3 W+5, Perception +8

Re-reading the game thread, there was a certain amount of arrogance from some of us. Erethyn tried twice to get a rest and both times people talked the group out of it. Eventually we just left Filge's place and headed for the cairn. Points for roleplay and minuses for smarts.

I don't think we expected the fight to be so tough and that is going to be a very harsh lesson for some of us.

Now Ulfak is a great character but there are plenty of others I can make so I'm not blaming anyone here.

Cheers

retired

Are we waiting for a possible amended action from Ratchet in the gameplay thread? I'm ready to bolt and sling Ulfak over my shoulder as I run; Erethyn, you want to grab Sandra?

Male Elf Oracle 3 (Hp. 24/24, AC.17, CMD. 15, Fort. +2, Refl. +3, Will. +5, Init. +2, Channel Postive Energy, 2d6, 6/6 per day.)

Sorry for not posting sooner. I got horribly ill yesterday and couldn't even stare at a computer screen for long.

Yes. Erethyn will move to pick Sandra up and then we can run.

The Exchange

Best wishes to you all and your families and have a great New Year.

Posting will be very spotty for the next week or two.

Cheers

retired

Can we hand-wave the rest of the retreat and make it back to town, Fanguar? Pretty please? =)

Absolutely. Frankly, I'm happy to just do a soft reset of the encounter. We can take it up back in the chamber. Just let me know if you're buying anything in town.

Male Elf Oracle 3 (Hp. 24/24, AC.17, CMD. 15, Fort. +2, Refl. +3, Will. +5, Init. +2, Channel Postive Energy, 2d6, 6/6 per day.)

Admittedly, I was kind of really looking forward to the characters talking to each other back at the inn, after the disaster that was that encounter.

But I'm okay with the reset if other people are.

retired

I think a cool down period at the inn is a good idea, actually. It'd give us a chance to build up some momentum with our posts and also see if we've lost anyone.

The Exchange

Cool down or reset - fine by me.

Nice post Erethyn!

I'll let you guys RP a bit and then I'll bring in some NPC interactions. Your return has not gone unnoticed...

HP 22/24, AC 16, CMD 12, Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +1, Init +3, Perception +6, Traps Check 27 Bombs 6/7, Draught 1/1, CLW Extract 3/4

I'm a little unclear of things.

Is the cairn where we just got our butts kicked another part of the one we've been exploring, or is it in a different location?

retired

It's all the same place; part of the one with the lanterns and elevators, which itself was undiscovered. The place we just got trounced is in that same cairn, just in a different wing so to speak.

HP 22/24, AC 16, CMD 12, Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +1, Init +3, Perception +6, Traps Check 27 Bombs 6/7, Draught 1/1, CLW Extract 3/4

That's what i thought. I was trying to figure out a way to send these folks off on a wild goose chase. Oh well.

retired

Just a head's up guys, I'll be visiting an old college roommate this weekend and there's a good chance I won't be able to post much (if at all). If I do get the opportunity, I'll try and check in with my phone. Should be back to normal when I roll back into town Monday night.

retired

So, I'm hoping Auric'll take the bait and we can slip out to the cairn tonight and just avoid them outright.

Male Elf Oracle 3 (Hp. 24/24, AC.17, CMD. 15, Fort. +2, Refl. +3, Will. +5, Init. +2, Channel Postive Energy, 2d6, 6/6 per day.)

Sounds like a fair plan.

Sorry for my recent lack of posting. RL's been getting busy with classes starting back up and a few other things going on lately. I'll try to stay more in the ring of things.

@Erethyn: No worries. Slow and steady and all that.

@Travigan: So this is a bluff then?
