Well, thats what the blast does.
as I think I stated before, you can use playing card/marbles etc as projectiles for your telekinetic blast. (slashing/bludgeoning respectively) However, the blast specifically calls out that the object takes the damage IIRC.
However, the kinetic blade does not so I'd argue it doesn't cause damage to the weapon (as the strands of Aether you are placing around it cushions it). Its one of the few boons Aether has over the other elements, it has potential for a lot of cool flavor on the telekinesis side of things.
Scrabbler |
Thanks! it's nice to see my build doing what I hoped it would.

^ this.
Telekinetic Finesse is my favorite ability in the whole damn game.
GM Placeholder of Doom! |
I am happy to go with that interpretation, that it suffers no damage, it was the conclusion I drew before, and Scrabbler and Ivan are more familiar with the ability and concur so I am happy :)
GM Placeholder of Doom! |
I am convinced I have seen an actual price listing for one, but it its not likely available in Trunau.
Scrabbler |
Just to point out that you do not get sneak attack when a foe has concealment, not that it made a difference here.
Unchained Rogues can Sneak Attack foes with Concealment (but not Total Concealment).
It was one of the big things the Unchained Rogue fixed.
Menrozzar Vyrlock |
Unchained Rogue is much better than core. They really did a decent job fixing it up.
Incidentally, I’d like to say that the wolf attack caught me completely off-guard. I did not see it coming in the least.
Edgar Bronson |
I second that unchained is the bees knees. It makes the rogue the best rogue again.
Ivan "The Mountain" Ironbrow |
I'm not so sure. The ninja is probably better most of the time Especially if you give them weapon training like the rogue(which makes sense). Flavor is different though.
Edgar Bronson |
I really wish they would unchain the ninja as well. In my home games we now give ninja weapons finnese and dex to damage at the same rate as the Urogue.

20 discussion updates in 4 hours Oo!
GM Placeholder of Doom! |
LOL, excellent I can keep my fog without worrying about ganking Scrambler :) Happy to hear it! Though don't expect to have to deal with it, fog, too much, can be a bit irritating I know.
GM Placeholder of Doom! |
I believe I have had 3 suggested next destinations at this point so the first one to get two yays will be the one I advance towards. The locations I have heard being The Sanctuary, The Ramblehouse, and The Longhouse - I had been advancing you towards the Sanctuary so you are currently pretty much smack bang in the middle of town.
GM Placeholder of Doom! |
Just noticed the map I linked for Trunau has Ramblestone incorrectly instead of Ramblehouse - just in case anyone was confused.
Daseem |
HA Daseem is not remotely competent at such things ;) Still I bet he'll prove handy in the wilderness.
GM Placeholder of Doom! |
Yeah, don't worry about that too much, the murderous onslaught is just around the corner... I mean its not like anybody is going to attack you with lightsabers *shifty eyes* or anything, but... I mean there is a harsh bit coming.
Ummm, a note on character deaths, you may choose to create a new character, or even select an existing NPC to stat out and take over. I will want something comparable to your original background though.
Ivan "The Mountain" Ironbrow |
I hope to god people don't have brilliant energy weapons yet. I'm not fit to fight them until level 9!
Scrabbler |
I was just thinking about the logistics of a dwarf in heavy armor carrying a tower shield up a flight of stairs in an inn designed by Halflings.
Ivan "The Mountain" Ironbrow |
well, they designed it big enough for humans and half-orcs, so i'm sure its fine :P
Daseem |
Pfft! ;) What's quite the image I had in mind for him.
Daseem |
I'm not aware of any rules regarding lighting fires (feels like it should be a survival check), although cantrips such as spark and items like tinder twigs exist at level 1. Maybe we can trivially set fire to the wagon even if it is damp? (using oil and a rag to form a wick).
Edgar Bronson |
Survival would be like rubbing sticks together, if anyone has Flint and steel we could fashion a torch. But a tindertwig or spark cantrip would be best.
Bupkis |
Bupkis has flint & steel. He even has an alchemist's fire. :)
Setting a rain-soaked wagon on fire would not be easy in real life.
Edgar Bronson |
Alchemist fire and oil should be enough
GM Placeholder of Doom! |
It is really the corpses you want to burn, an option would be putting them insider the covered wagon which is pretty dry dousing them with oil and setting the fire inside - it might not burn the whole cart, but should take care of the problem. You ought to be able to succeed with just oil, let's say she gave you about five pints since I did not specify. Otherwise dragging the wagon to the Long house and makingn use of the firepit there is a viable option.
Menrozzar Vyrlock |
I vote we drag them to the Longhouse so Menrozzar can report to Captain Kurst and we can burn the bodies there.
GM Placeholder of Doom! |
I HAve changed the Trunau link as the map I was using had some problems, you can now see the South Tower, which is actually pretty central and marked E.
GM Placeholder of Doom! |
If you do get stuck at any point you can also make gather information checks, but bear in mind they take 1d4 hours. Not suggesting you are there yet though.
Ivan "The Mountain" Ironbrow |
gonna admit. Probably one of my favorite posts so far with channeling my Inner Ivan.
The nat 20 was just icing.
Daseem |
Well if kids can get there on a lark, not very is my guess :)
GM Placeholder of Doom! |
The module does not really say, but there are outlying farmsteads, etc., and people obviously go there after dark, I don't imagine the gates keep people in really. Let's say they are closed, but manned and getting out is relatively simple - albeit they might make you climb down a rope ladder because they have low visibility with the fog.
Ivan "The Mountain" Ironbrow |
well have fun guys, looks like Ivan will be sitting this one out XD
climbing, his worst nemesis
Bupkis |
I don't think there's any need to climb in armor. We can just lower the armor down separately, and Ivan can put it back on afterwards.
GM Placeholder of Doom! |
LOL, take 10 a rope ladder is DC -5 you even have a rank in climb, you should be at what, -8 drop your shield down, or lower it down, and you have a positive modifier.
Please note I am unlikely to post again until late tomorrow, got to do a wee hours airport run.
Daseem |
That's what Daseem plans to do if it comes to that.
Scrabbler |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
I like the idea of lowering Ivan down in a harness, with a goblin riding him. Like this.
Bupkis |
I think Bupkis' Kinetic Blast can damage an incorporeal creature.
The kineticist rules state: "All damage from a kinetic blast is treated as magic for the purpose of bypassing damage reduction."
There is a FAQ stating that "counts as magic" for purposes of bypassing damage reduction allows an attack to damage incorporeal creatures.
Edit: I'm not sure that Bupkis would realize in advance that he could damage ghosts.
Ivan "The Mountain" Ironbrow |
to be honest, I'm really worried how our group is going to do. We have no arcane magic to speak of, no real divine magic (as our warpriest will be using buff spells mostly) so no healing.
and I'm pretty defensive, but, thats about it. Very little ranged damage as well.
Edgar Bronson |
As a summoner I have some arcane...and I will have full summon monster progression.
Ivan "The Mountain" Ironbrow |
true, to be fair, I haven't looked at the summoners spell list, do you get dispel magic? or haste? other things such as that?
