"Get me outta here, Allie! I have a bad feeling about Spirit and we need to bring him back here." Jorgan wildly cuts at the webbing with his flaming sword and rushes towards Alysendra, his mind full of dread that he might lose another animal friend.

Can Jorgan withdraw towards Alysendra? If he can't withdraw, he'll just move anyways and take the AoO.

Maybe not the most tactical thing, but it's the right thing for Jorgan to do.

Yes, Farin are you shooting the Roc? :)

We are out of rounds now.

The spirit doesn't seem to answer Kraygan's call, though he isn't sure if it is due to Spirit's distance or just that the spirit of the giant didn't hear him at all.

The roc grabs ahold of the food in a jaw that looks like it can swallow a dwarf in one bite. The winged raptor takes another step forward, coos and looks for more food as its attitude becomes a bit friendlier now that it knows Jorgan offers food.

No, sorry - I was posting from my phone and got a little mixed up on what was going on. It looked like we were still in rounds and being attacked, but I see that is only where Spirit is. I was avoiding those spoilers, but on the phone I guess it was open and.. well, I just wasn't paying close enough attention.

What is the Roc eating? Can we feed it a spider?

"Ok, ok, good bird..." Jorgan coos back at the giant roc, holding his hand out to the others to stay back as he approaches it. He holds out his palm full of ram hair and says, "He's lost... can you find him? I've lost my ram and he's in trouble."

Wren begins to thumb through his spellbook, wondering if he has a way to find Spirit. He makes faces...he has none.

"Such things are not the magics I have trained myself with. But, you should be fine, right? You now can mount that roc instead, yes? You won't miss that old goat a bit. You've even upgraded...good on you, Jorkeg. Good on you."

"Piss off, elf," Jorgan rumbles over his shoulder without taking his focus off the giant roc. "If we can find Spirit... even if... even if somethin' bad's happened... I can bring him back. Gozreh granted me that power so I wouldn't lose another. But we gotta find him... gotta find his body at least. I'm hoping this roc can find him quicker than we can. Fly up and down the place, you know."

@Farin-Jorgan fed it some food.

The roc begins to rock its large body side to side it shudders in partial-understanding. Sniffing the handful of ram fur, the Roc's wings span out the length of the room, fanning the flames further.

After a minute or so the thick webs all burn away, leaving behind a thick black smoke that billows out of the open hole in the roof. As the roc sniffs Spirit's fur it begins to get excited and flings it's body back out the hole in the roof and hovers just outside the castle. Though it wants to help Jorgan it tries to understand what he wishes. Jorgan is sure that it has Spirit's scent though.

"Looks like he has it..." Jorgan whispers. He pulls a small vial from his pocket, drinks it down, and then leaps up through the roof after the roc without explanation to the others.

Wren shrugs, turns invisible with a twist of his ring, then follows Jorgan out the window.

"We'll meet where we freed the ghost, hopefully soon," Wren says to the group, hoping they will understand. "I can get us back there."

Following the Roc out the castle's walls, Both Jorgan and Wren are met with a breathtaking view of the landscape far, far below them. Several small towns including Trunau can be seen in the distance.

Looking down the Roc hurtles down 200 feet towards the first floor as it faces a multicolored stained glass gigantic window. Turning back it sees that Jorgan is following and flies right into the window to break through it with it's talons.

Will Save: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Will Save: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12

The blue, indigo and violet stained glass seems to affect the Roc in a strange manner as it suddenly begins to go insane, biting at it's own body before it begins to disintegrate and warp out of existence from the Material Plane.

Light pours into the dark room, shedding a multi-colored hue in the center of the room. The light falls down across Spirit's prone and bloody body. The ram looks to be in very bad shape as a trio of strange beasts circle around the body.

These towering menaces have a horrible, vertically aligned mouth and arms that split at the elbows into twin clawed hands.

At the sight of Spirit's bloody and unconscious body, Jorgan disregards his own safety and dives through the window, trying to reach his ram to cast a healing spell on it before it's too late.

Well, here we go! Let's see what kind of trouble Jorgan's gotten himself into! Woooo!

Jorgan recognizes the aberrations as gug savants. Some bloodthirsty gugs gain awful powers as gifts from their alien patrons. These monsters are known as savants. Some become actual clerics or oracles of their mad gods—strange powers of darkness, insanity, and blood.

While immune to disease and poison they are able to rend their victim's flesh from bone as well as fighting as fighting in the dark as well as the daylight.
