Rogzul soars through the cavern to back up Jorgan as the Vanguard stomps through the mushrooms, grabbing his shield and warhammer from his back.

As the giant attempts to complete its orders Jorgan spears him in the back several times while Spirit rends his horns underneath the giant's arms and through his armpits.

Kraygan moves in with his lance, though with all of the mushrooms he can't line up a clear shot.

The blue Fire Giant continues to charge onwards, ignoring Jorgan and runs face first into Wren's invisible wall, leaving behind a fresh smear of blood that seems to hang in the air, slowly dripping down.

Havn't ever seen anything about enhancement bonuses needing to be equal or higher. Just that enhancement bonuses increase the hardness and Hp of weapons and armor. But the Vanguard is using a +1 Flaming warhammer.

Jorgan moves in behind Rogzul and resets his ankle so it doesn't flop about on loose skin anymore.

Kraygan's lance punctures the Vanguard's lung. The fire giant drops to a knee as he gasps for his breath for several seconds as his lung collapses in on itself. Eyes growing wide they eventually roll back into his head.

Remaining defensive the remaining fire giant kicks at Rogzul.

The fire giant was hoping to drop the orc in a single kick before standing but only ends up doing all that he can to survive as Rogzul spears him through the gut.

As the last of the giants fall the orc slaves seem to perk up a bit. All throughout the short battle their faces shown a look a defeat. One as if a quick death would have been a sweet release from this miserable existence.

One orc approaches and speaks in a raspy voice, that has not had water in a long time. Underneath his tattered loin cloth is skin and bones. he grunts as he starts with a small lisp as several teeth are missing from malnutrition.

The orcs behind give very weak cheer as the giants in this chamber are removed.

"What is it you wish to do with us?" The orc holds his hands out wide, palms facing outward.

The orcs grunt and strain as they speak in hoarse whispers, their eyes dart between the passages. "The clans have united and they are strong. We were taken in raids as tribute to the Storm Tyrant. Most of us were criminals or undesirables even among our own kind, and during our months of captivity we have seen our most aggressive comrades worked to death or torn apart by the bored, cruel fire giants." I agree Jorgan. I just wanted to make sure as that was going to be a very bad spot to rest hehe.

The orcs are left to their own devices as they cower and huddle in the corner underneath the giant mushrooms as the group stows their broken weapons and continues north through the tunnel complex.

The floor of this wide chamber is covered in recently harvested mushroom stalks. Two tunnels exit the eastern side of the room and two tunnels exit the western side. Two doorways are carved in the north wall of the room, and a low rise stretches across most of the southern wall.

As in the previous chamber, the low rise against the southern wall is 3 feet high and can be bypassed by either jumping over it (Acrobatics DC 12) or spending 2 squares of movement to ascend the steep slope.

The words the orcs in the prior chamber spoke seem to be true. This room serves as yet another of the fire giants’ mushroom farms, but no actual farm labor is currently taking place in this room. A few hours ago, slaves harvested most of the last crop of mushrooms and brought piles of dung and volcanic soil to this room to spread out across the ground to enrich the soil. During the harvest, however, a group of slaves tried to revolt against their overseers and were swiftly cut down. All in all, 13 orcs lie dead throughout the chamber.

Two fire giant soldiers are cleaning up after the recent conflict. The giants are using pitchforks to skewer dead orcs and toss them onto a cart. The soldiers are accompanied by a half-dozen hounds, which roam the room sniffing out any slaves that might be hiding. These hounds resembles a thin, lanky wolf with reddish-brown fur, white claws, and burning, fiery red eyes. DC 15 Knowledge Planes

Farin recognizes the hounds as Hellhounds, though these creatures seem to be much larger and far more advanced. Farin knows they are able to exhale fire into a 10 foot cone as well as being immune to fire.

A typical hell hound stands 4–5 feet tall at the shoulder and weighs 120 pounds. Efficient hunters, a favorite pack tactic is to surround prey quietly, then attack with one or two hounds, driving prey toward the rest of the pack with their fiery breath. If the prey doesn’t run, the pack closes in. Hell hounds track fleeing creatures relentlessly.

Hell hounds are particularly favored by fire giants, as the creatures are immune to fire and share the fire giant’s sense of cruelty when it comes to handling intruders. Only when a fire giant goes too far toward treating a relatively intelligent hell hound like a pet do such alliances begin to falter.
