Quip, come take the wheel, I'll go up to the top of the mast - we have to make sure we don't hit any further shallows... one flash of light from up here means go left, two means go right.

Rose looks at Sam before drawing her rapier out. So be it. Because whatever you're about to do, I can't let it happen. If there's anything left of the Sam that was one of us. You know this is wrong. Please, end this before you go too far. You know Emily wouldn't want this, not at the cost of someone else's life.

Sam, keeps his back turned to Rose. He then says, sounding a little more like himself though weary,"You... Have you ever lost someone very dear?

We all have. That's why we're all here. But it's so distant. So maybe another type of pain will do. 13 years ago I ripped myself away from my family to gain strength. My brother and sister think I'm dead. And it will stay that way. I left to gain strength to get revenge on the giants and I've become a monster. I would eat their still beating hearts if it meant protecting our people. Our people Sam. Whatever you're about to do, it's not gonna help Emily, it will destroy the rest of us. She was a good woman. And just like I'll end up in whatever hell's laid claim to my soul, she's where she belongs. A good place.

Lershoth doesn't look so great.
"Yes well, I'm glad your having fun." he grumbles to himself 'how hard could it be? Indeed as he tries to keep whatever dead rat he has left in his stomach. "We'll see I guess, I don't see a lot of point in getting our hopes up. If decides it doesn't like us, at least we'll be dead before we really know what's going on."

Lershoth is too occupied with his stomach to notice Polmar's current state, and far too sick to comment much more.

After Rock
Lershoths attempts at keeping lunch down fail immediately as he runs to the side of the ship and occupies himself for a minute.

Wiping gruel off of his face.
"Yes, keeping an eye would be good. I'll try and, and..."
He then goes a finds a place to curl into a small fetal position.


"It's too late..." Sam whispers sadly. "I have done the deed. I belong to it now..." "I hope you win." He finishes simply. Sam then quickly turns around and charges at Rose. Roll initiative!


Talirin, you are back underground. Folks seems to be nervous and slightly panicky. You notice that guards are facing the northwest tunnel making a blockade. Weapons out, ready. You don't see Rose.

Polmar is too busy navigating the boat to notice how poorly Lershoth is feeling.

Siobhan notices the cat man descending down some steps and through a large wood door. Siobhan follows, Quick but cautiously. when she enters she goes down a small tunnel then turns right toward an opening. The sight before her as she enter a large village like area, is of that of folks in fear, slight panic and concern. The cat man stands a little ways before looking past the crowd. You can see beyond him in a tunnel to the northwest a small line of armed men with weapons drawn facing the tunnel, looking ready for a fight.


Female Sylph Druid 4

Nephele turns, heading directly for the source of the aura, dismissing the stranger as a threat, her mind already on the sudden arrival of an evil presence.


Polmar, you see a short ways ahead, another rock roughly the size of the other and it looks like you could smack right into it. You also realize no one is at the helm. The three of you make a reflex save. I'll give Lershoth and Jalel one in the assumption that Polmar would call out a warning.


Nephele, comes to the ruins and sees the young woman she saw in the forest ruins looking as though she is searching for something around her, like where to go next.

I realize he didn't post saying he was taking the wheel, but I did specifically call for Jalel to take the wheel before I had Polmar go up to the crow's nest

Gosh dang it, QUIP! Take the wheel, we have a rock due north Polmar yells before remembering the signals he worked out beforehand and signaling for the ship to bear to left.

Jalel, spaced for a moment but when he heard Polmar shout, he was quick enough to get to the wheel, and steer the ship out of harms way.

"I'm hardly a helmsman!" Jalel shouted back up at Polmar as he twisted the wheel starboard side. His voice momentarily overcome with panic as his usual inward thoughts were forced aside.

It will do no good now to lose your composure with the other two you're with. he chided himself, while he took a deep breath to calm down.

He looked up to Polmar. "Forgive my outburst. I'm beginning to think we should have asked if anyone actually had any real experience on a boat. I know there weren't many of the adults left, but maybe one or two would have known something. If nothing else the three of us will be hard pressed to make sure we get where we're going..." Jalel then paused mid-sentence. "Speaking of the three of us, where did Lershoth go?"

“Ruins, lovely.” Karliah muttered, not that she was surprised to see them of course. Considering the world had been at the mercy of the giants for fifteen years, the investigator would actually be surprised if any of the cities were in tact... but it was still sobering to see the cities in ruins. How could the new generation ever hope to make such cities, when they had to face their destoryers? Pushing those thoughts aside, Karliah began to gaze carefully at the city, trying to see where those two figures had vanished to.

Not quite the circumstances I hoped to be introduced in... The thought occupied only a fraction of Siobhan's mind as she surveyed the chaos in front of her.

"Who's in charge here?" Siobhan starts weaving her way through the crowd. "I'm a friend, here to help you. What's going on and who in the name of ever-loving Shelyn is in charge here?

Now getting frustrated Siobhan moves faster through the crowds "Everyone who isn't a fighter get back now - get up the tunnel and out into the open air. It's safe I swear it!"

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29

Without looking to see if anyone has followed her instructions Siobhan runs towards the guards, falling back into the instinctive, staccato rhythm of combat.

"What exactly are you searching for?", Nephele enquires, slightly confused as she glances around herself, attempting to spot anything worthy of her interest.

Talirin sprints into the cave with his swords out and sees several guards he knows and trusts, Where did the duchess go? Did she go the direction of the evil?

When they point in the direction of Rose he sprints away at a speed not seen by the folk here before! He yells back to the unknown women, I am in charge here if the Duchess is not here. If you want to help follow me!

Using the run full round action and using my racial ability. Sprinter: Catfolk gain a 10-foot racial bonus to their speed when using the charge, run, or withdraw actions. So I should be able to move 160' each round I believe.


Talirin runs for a time searching for Rose. Perception roll, please.


A lot of the folks head out of the underground at Siobhans suggestion. She then hears the cat person call out to her "I am in charge here if the Duchess is not here. If you want to help follow me!


Karliah does notice a few steps leading to a door that leads underground. She then hears, "What are you searching for?"
She looks to see it is the Sylph.


Nephele notices the woman looking at the underground entrance.


Rose first move goes to you.

Rose moves carefully towards Sam presenting as few openings as possible before striking against him. Defensive Fighting with Rapier: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20 Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 Fighting defensively gives me an 18 AC, also, what was the rule on hit points again, I think I should be back up to full.


Rose manages to jab Sam along his side though he was able move quick enough for it to not do too much damage. Sam goes to give Rose a good punch with his free hand, attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 But Rose is to quick as Sam wildly swings and greatly misses.

Lershoth comes crawling into the helm area.

Getting to his feet, the nausea having passed though with the lingering green on his face. Wiping some remaining bile off his face, Lershoth does his best to compose himself.
"Right here Jalel. Indeed, it would have seemed wise in retrospect to have perhaps sorted this out before leaving. Nevertheless, here we are.

No one ever talks about getting sick in the books." Lershoth grumbles to himself before doing his best to help assist Jalel at the helm until more pressing matters come to hand.

Siobhan pursues the Catfolk deeper into the cavern. He's not a mute afterall - that's something at least!

Since I now have some direction (yay!) Siobhan will stick as close to Talirin as possible, hoping that he will lead her to a. the Duchess, b. whatever is going on down here!

Once it gets shallow enough for us to swim in Polmar will have the group weigh anchor. He's heard getting to close to land is a good way to get your boat stuck.

“For where the people I saw vanished too.” Karliah said as she headed for the stairs she noticed leading underground, drawing her rapier as she spoke. However, she didn’t began to head down straight away. Instead, she paused in front of the doorway, pulling several items out of pouches. 30 seconds later, and Karliah was downing a small flask, before glancing over to the Slyph. “You coming?”

Siobhan and Talirin:
You both see a small side tunnel with a dim flickering light at the end. You head down to see Rose in combat with Sam. Sam is holding a dimly lit orb and is swinging wildly at Rose who dodges with ease. Roll initiative!

That must be the Duchess, what in the name of the seven hells is going on here?

Despite her confusion Siobhan's course of action was clear - she'd come to work with the Duchess and letting her get killed was not as option. Humming to her own internal music Siobhan let the dance take her, flowing down the corridor towards the man with the glowing orb.

On her turn Siobhan will move into combat, aiming to flank Sam with Rose. Sam is declared dodge target.

Initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5


Nephele and Karliah:
You enter the cave to see, folks going this way and that, in panic and frustration. Some folks are trying to keep things calm. Karliah, you notice this underground village is a fair bit bigger than yours was but it also was a little uglier. You can You see that there are about four tunnels ahead of you. Guards are positioned mostly at the north east tunnel. They are facing it as if ready for a fight.

Jalel looked up at Polmar with a dubious glance at the water between them and land. "Why are we weighing anchor out here? Shouldn't we be getting closer to the Island?"

" I read an adventure story that said that shoals began to appear close to land of any kind, which could damage the boat. I am just being careful because if something would happen to the ship we would be in a lot of trouble " Polmar will say as he shimmies down from the crow's nest. "If you have a better plan, we can do that instead"

Lershoth looks a little uncertain himself.
"Well, I guess it seems logical. I can't imagine bringing something like this into shallow water would go super well. How exactly are supposed to get to land though? Perhaps we should sail around the island first and see what there is to see?"

Another village... Karliah wasn’t completely surprised by this. She had expected to find others having gone underground in order to survive, but she hadn’t expected to find one so easily. Or to find it in such a panic... grumbling a little under her breath, Karliah made her way other to the guards, asking. “Hey, what’s going on here? Why is everyone panicked, what was with the wave of wickedness?”

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 1d6 + 11 ⇒ (8) + (5) + 11 = 24


Karliah and Nephle:
One of the guards trying to calm the others says to Karliah, "A murder happened a little while ago... That wickedness you speak of though probably came from the murderer. I saw he was holding a glowing orb of some kind and talking crazy. Something about trading a life for a life... The guard shuddered slightly, then said, "He escaped down the northwest tunnel. We are keeping watch for if something tries to escape. Rose and a few others went after him."


Ones in battle:
Siobhan Moves swiftly hitting Sam from the rear. He grunts in pain. Talirin I'll just put you appropriately in the queue when you roll. But for now I am moving forward. Rose your up.

Polmar looks sad thinking that he's going to need to climb the mast....again but he nods assent and scrambles back up the mast to keep an eye out for good places to make land.
