Similar boat as Shi; still very interested in this recruitment but I've been busy and it's hard to keep up with all the posts (though they've been very entertaining to read)!

Everyone is making lists. :(

I feel left out but I am too lazy to actually do anything about it.

Anyone willing to let me copy your list and take credit for it?
;) j/k

I figure I'd type up my list to see how close I am at final selections, but I don't wanna say it right now so I'll just spoiler it. Just don't nobody look at it until after the selections have been made.

No peeking now!:

EXPLODING RUNES!!!!

Guess you shouldn't have peeked.

Newbonomicon here again! I've got most everything put into my new profile, all that's left is to buy gear and write out his backstory.

So let's try this for a topic: Since a few people have mentioned their 'short lists,' anyone wanna post theirs? If you think it's jinxing, cool, just say and I'll think of something else while I work on taxes for my clients. :)

Tharris is a full-level divine caster, though he doesn't get high-level spells. Though aiming for the Champion Mythic path, I might Dual Path into Hierophant, too.

Hello Hello, sorry it has taken me this long to join in on the running. I had a bit of time I had to use for recovery from working a convention and everything so I finally get to sit down and do all the crunch and such for a character for this. This is a character idea I kinda had for this game for a while and thought this one would in fact make for a good one to bring in for this AP.

Backstory:

The Worldwound has been a plight upon the world going on almost a hundred years at present but there have always been those to take up the charge and going in Iomedae's crusade against the coming dark. Thousands have joined the battle and thousands have died, seemingly only to keep the tide of demons at bay. But there are some who even though they die, just won't stay away. This is one such story.

Bakji had lived during the time of the First Crusade and he joined in readily slay the demons and save the people surrounding the Worldwound in Iomedae's name. In that life he had been a paladin, sworn to take care of her enemies and he enjoyed it with zealous abandon. The battle was glorious and difficult and they saved many a town from the demonic horde, Sarkoris and Mendev to name a few. But as most heroes of that war, eventually he fell on the battlefield taken down by one of the Arch-Fiends who slipped through the wound.

His second life on the battlefield was during Third Crusade, he had awoken to his past life having lived a life of sin as a cutpurse in the Chelaxian nation. When he remembered the glory of his life before, he turned himself in to the church of Iomedae. He begged for them to let him redeem his current life by proudly serving once again in the crusade, they granted it as his name was found in the records of the dead of the First Crusade and they found that his desire was not false. He joined into the fray, daggers in hand slaying demons and using his smarts to torture information out of the demons. He became known for his aggressive but effective ways and was eventually caught by a group of demons. He had been marked for a most horrible death should he be found alive and that he was certainly given.

Bakji's soul just couldn't rest, something that often occurred with Samsarans. He awoke once more, a trapper in the woods. This life he had led so far in mostly a quiet and peaceful way, only taking on bears, wolves, deer, and the like and selling the meat and pelts. When he awoke, he knew this was not his calling for if the Worldwound still existed then he was to join it and see to it that it would be closed. He sought out the church once more and found that they were between crusades at present.

He begged to them to send out another crusade as the job was not yet done. But they asked him patience and given his capability with a bow and his zealous nature they requested he stay and learn to channel that force upon the demons. Thus he joined the ranks of the Inquisitors and learned their ways, melding them with his own and as soon as he was given leave he set off to join the crusade once again. He hoped this time perhaps he might finally help seal the wound forever.

The age I rolled up may be too old, and if possible I would be more then happy to lower it to make it fit with the timeline of the start of the Fifth Crusade. I hope that you find the idea and concept of the character at least interesting as I would really enjoy playing him in WotR.
I welcome others to read and tell me what they think of the character.

Walks around a little crispy and with the edge of my mustach on fire. I sit down and start brewing.

Tharris pounds away at a bit of heated metal, folding it over and over again, trying to replicate the technique he had heard described by the traveling merchant. Seeing Korak, he smiles. "It is good to see someone so dedicated to his craft."

Aye. I need something to knocks Xzaral out while I feed him to the pigs.

Silver Crusade

What's a little potentially lethal explosion between friends?

Korak The Boisterous wrote:

Lemme help with that..."...stupid exploding runes! he should have known...mumble mumble"

The same as knocking a friend out and leaving him in a pig trough

...it's the only way. He singed my beard!

He singed, your beard? THE PIGS ARE TOO GOOD FOR HIM! DOWN WITH THE BEARD BURNER!

DOWN WITH THE BREAD BURNER!!! He'll pay for this!!! I spent decades grooming this purple bad-boy.

Silver Crusade

Whoa, whoa, hold on a moment. I know of a completely calm, rational, not crazy fire burning way of resolving this entire incident peaceably!

Turns and runs like Hell.

GET HIM!!!!

tosses a barrel at the back of his legs

Tharris sighs and continues his work. "Dwarves... Well, at least if that man survives, he'll know to be more careful in the future."

Chaïa looks up primly from her spellbook, but decides that it's probably wiser not to try to intervene.

A bunch of wild and crazy characters here, I guess. I'm just popping in to see what's doing, and to mention that I've added the short version I promised to Chaïa's rather self-indulgently wordy backstory to her profile.

Waits silently in the alley until Xzaral comes toward him.

"I hear you've got a lax attitude toward the safety of other people's beards."

Side note, I chose chance encounter originally and while I could still seeing it as working sorta, I believe it might be better to take a different one. Child of the Crusades would work (though not in the normal way), and I feel Stolen Fury would work really well for this character. I could still take Chance Encounter in the end....GM any thoughts? Or for that matter any thoughts from the others?

Silver Crusade

Last week the Mustache Mafia, and now this week the Beard Brewers. I guess facial hair just isn't lucky for me. Suppose next I'll have to worry about the Eyebrow Eliminators.

readies my battle axe What did you say you wanted to do to my eyebrows son?"

Wrath of the Righteous: Barber Edition

New Barbarian archetype: Barberian - Your Rage Powers stem from your facial hair. Whenever your beard, mustache, or eyebrows are threatened, make a DC 20 Will Save. If you fail, you enter an uncontrollable rage until either you or the person who threatened your facial hair is reduced to 0 hit points or less. You gain all the effects of normal Barbarian Rage, but you may only attempt to attack the person who threatened your facial hair and their allies. There are no limits on the number of rounds you can rage, but your facial hair must be under threat to enter the rage.

Weapon and Armor Proficiencies: You are proficient with all simple and martial weapons, as well as razors and scissors.

Waxed Warrior (Ex): When using alchemical hair products as thrown weapons, you gain +1 to attack and +1 to the save DC to resist their effects.

Andrian Timeswift wrote:

HA! Beautiful, and you make me want to make this a thing, somehow.

Maybe all the demons from the Worldwound intend to steal everyone's facial hair so they can absorb it's power!

I'm gonna sit on Stolen Fury for now as my campaign trait instead of my current, unless the GM likes my idea.

Excellent! I want to be the Gnome Barberian of Seville!!

Obviously you have not met little friends here...

Sixtus the Gray

Curl the Mighty

Bjorn Who Sits on Tacks

and...

Cat's Cradle Carl

Elves are *NOT* invited...

What even is this thread anymore?

That's a proper dwarven beard right there

This is a thread of people hanging out while waiting to see who gets picked. XD

Yep. Bunch of crazy people here. And of course, still a chance for new crazy people to throw themselves into the running.

Just to note, I honestly wouldn't take this AP with random-crazy characters. The tone... doesn't really fit it, not unless the GM and EVERY player really wants to do that. Being at least mostly archetypal heroic - and/or serious - tends to go over better. It is fun seeing all the submissions, though. ^^

As a player, I tend to be pretty fun-loving and goofy, but Tharris is a pretty serious guy. He's a father and a warrior at the edge of an extremely dangerous area.

True, the crazy is for out of character except in your case Korina, wink Korak isn't really nuts and going to feed somebody to pigs. Well, not stupidly anyways. Depending on how the campaign goes a prank or two might happen. If we have plenty of downtime between stressful moments it will be good to blow some steam off. That said he's still friendly, the kind who will smack you on the back a bit too hard, and a little over the top. Least that's the plan.

Something tells me the GM is just going to throw his hands up in frustration and call it done.

But in case he doesn't, NIGHTLY UPDATE

So, what kind of things would you like to see added to VMC? That has so much more potential than what's currently being used.

Honestly, mostly I don't even want to deal with it.

You seem to have missed mine.

Sorry, didn't go back far enough I guess. Plus, non profile posts are a bit easy to overlook in the chaos this recruitment has turned into.

I think the adventure is going to go down like this: Demons attack Kenabres, are greeted with a resounding "Bugger off, we are talking!" and return confusedly to the abyss.

I know, I generally don't make new profiles unless accepted. I feel weird about having to reuse old character names if they don't get selected or what not. Plus, it kinda hurts to press the delete button.

You know where the delete button is! Where?

Agreed. And you risk ending up with a billion aliases. Like me.

Eh, I like Korak. Even if I don't make it I think I'll keep him to put towards other games.
