If the man falls, he will step out twirling another starknife on his fingers.

Anyone else feel like they got what it takes to fight us? Took out your leaders with none of you hearing it, under the nose of your sentry, and even disarmed a good few of you. Trust me, I'd rather not kill you all... but, I'm not the best of people. So I won't be holding back.

Ryoken swings his blades as he begins to step towards the would-be impromptu leader. "Even when you took us by surprise, we put your ambushers down with little effort. Now that you're armorless with your strongest already defeated, what makes you think you'll fair any better?"

If Dart takes him out, he'll switch to the closest bandit, prepared to start attacking if they don't start surrendering/running away. If the guy who talked didn't fall, he continues towards him, prepared to finish him off.

"Best listen to him, or things may turn for the worse very quickly" - the woman adds, scimitar in hand.

Mwenye chants and traces a circle in the air. Casting shield

"If the marksmanship of your compatriots is any indication," he then says, "We have little to fear even from a hundred of you."

The man who spoke up sprouts an unseen knife in his chest. He falls forward onto it, his bow falling by his side. Everyone sees this and those who you had previously secretly taken weapons from flee. The remaining bandits are now just over half their original number. They quickly move to use their tents for cover. Another of them shouts, "Assassins! Kill them!" and arrows come flying your way as they duck around the cover of the tents. Tent = Partial Cover +2 AC, +1 Reflex (same for you if you use the tent as a cover to shoot out from)

Arrows stick into the dirt and pierce through the main tent missing all of you. Only Ryoken is hit(2 damage) as he moves to engage the closest bandit 20ft. away, though it is more of a graze than an arrow wound.

"You will regret your choices!" - Erianna roars.

Starting Inspire Courage and moving south to stay behind the tent - the one where Ryoken is currently fighting close to - to gain cover from the remaining archers.

Mwenye's flying kick hits the man squarely and he stumbles back pulling an arrow and returning fire. The other three on the north side of camp all focus on Mwenye also. Two are wildly wide, two more are closer but shatter in mid air right in front of him. Another foot further and he would have been wounded.

Three arrows follow Dart as he dashes towards the tent. "You can't hide from us!" they shout. The 3 see you. All other bandits are unaware of you however.

Ryoken leaves two gashes in his targets chest. The bandit drops his bow and falls silently. As you step towards the man on the other side of the tent he drops his weapon and runs after seeing his friend die, "You'll pay for this!" he shouts as he runs into the night. Two more arrows pierce the tent you are now standing behind as Erianna comes and takes cover behind it with you.

Remember +2 to attack and damage with inspire courage guys.

Also you can tell these guys aren't the most experienced. They basically need a 20 to hit any of you. They prefer ambushing people in their sleep and don't fare well when the tables are turned.

I'm not sure what Dart plans to do so will let him post two rounds of actions when he posts next.

On the northern side of the camp Mwenye is in the bandit's face and with a swift punch knocks the map out cold. Twisting around with catlike reflexes he kicks the other man nearby solidly in the chest. (gave your second attack to the other bandit next to you since you already knocked out the first bandit you attacked). The bandit stumbles back. "Cowards use magic..." he drops his bow and flees away from Mwenye into the trees. The other two remaining bandits shoot at you again but seeing their arrows magically destroyed inches from your body they drop their bows and flee half naked into the trees after the others.

On the southern side of camp Ryoken fumbles, giving his opponent hope. He steps back and fires along with another bandit near him. (you can use Cut from the Air twice if you like. Against a 14 and a 9). Erianna dashes forward to lay out one of the men that were watching Dart. The other two see their friend fall to the ground and fire at her. One arrow goes wide and one deflects off her armour.

In a beautiful display of sword play, Ryoken tosses Tamashi up in the air, catching and then hurling it at the first arrow aimed at him. As it soars gracefully and splits the target in two, he simultaneously charges towards the second arrow and its archer, bringing Makoto up to neatly clip the arrow head from the shaft. Moving the blade in a wide arc, he continues its path in a downward swing at the archer. In the blink of an eye, he is upon the two bandits as his left hand unthinkingly retrieves Tamashi from where his throw had embedded it in the ground right between the legs of the wide-eyed second archer.

Makoto: 1d20 + 13 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 13 - 2 = 13

Flavor text for 2 AoO to cut from the air, moving next to the 2 archers, and attacking one of them.

If he falls, she takes a 5' step behind the tent.

Two more cowardly bandits flee, one from a serious wound given by Ryoken. Only one remaining on his feat as Mwenye charges at him and he flings his bow to the ground, standing there in just his smallclothes. "Ok! Ok! Ok! I surrender!" He flinches, unsure if the catfolk is still going to hit him or not.

The fight is over with 2 dead and 3 more unconscious in addition to the 4 captured in their sleep.

We do not want them to simply pick up where they left off, I believe." With a flick of his wrists, he cleans the blood off his blades, sheathing Tamashi as he starts going through the bandit's things. That which looks valuable or useful goes in his magical bag and the things that aren't are put in a pile near the fireplace in preparation for being burned.

Inside the tents are found most of the possessions of the men whom were scared off. They are sure to try to come back here when the fear of the forest overcomes the fear of death from you. There are 20 sets of clothing and armour ranging from padded armour to studded leather vests. An equal amount of shortbows, daggers, rapiers and bucklers together with over 500 arrows. You also count 52 silver coins and 91 copper coins from them all. This is definitely not the most dangerous and well equipped group of outlaws here.

Ryoken prioritizing putting non-flammable things or things that are not easily ruined into his bag. He leaves the clothing and most of the tents alone; they would not help the bandits in their lawlessness and had no need to be destroyed. Anything he can't carry gets offered to his group. If they show no interest to it, it goes in the fire pit, making sure not to accidentally smother the flames. I'll look up how much is currently in the bag and do some math tonight to figure out what he actually ends up carrying away with him.

When he's done, he looks at the rest of the group. "Are you done tying up the prisoners? I would prefer to move somewhere else before identifying the more interesting items we found from the leaders."

He looks over their captives. "It is a pity they turned to banditry," he states. "They seem desperate rather than malicious, yes?"

I was thinking we'd do the same thing as last time: party members not on guard go in the rope trick while guard + prisoners stay just beneath.

Once a safe distance away, Ryoken pulls out the magical weapons that had been identified. He takes a seat on the ground, crossing his legs and begins to concentrate on each one in turn.

Battle Reading (Su):
Examining an item in this way requires him to spend 1 minute handling the item. If the item is a magic item, the occultist learns its properties and command word as if he had successfully examined the item using detect magic and succeeded at a Spellcraft check. This ability does not reveal whether the item is cursed unless the occultist’s class level is equal to or greater than the caster level of the item. If the item has any historical significance, the occultist learns one piece of information about its past (as determined by the GM). Finally, if the item was last used no longer than 1 day ago per the occultist’s class level, the occultist learns one piece of information about the last creature to use the item. This information might be a glimpse of the creature’s appearance, a brief vision of what it saw while using the item, or perhaps its emotional state when it last used the item. The GM determines what information is gained in this way. This functions like the psychometry occult skill unlock, but doesn’t require a skill check and can be used at will.

"The arrows and bolts are simple +1 items." He then stands up. "I have heard some are able to tell potions by their taste. Should we give that a try?" According to perception, you can identify a potion if you hit DC 15 + potion's CL you can identify it

Agreed with that idea Ryoken ;)

"I don't think I want to risk trying to taste any unidentified liquid" - the woman winks art his companion.

We may want to double up with Dart on watches, since he can stay up most of the night with his ring. Having two to a watch seems like a good idea. Mwenye would volunteer for the middle of the night, since he's got low-light and darkvision and scent.

If we overlap Mwenye's watch with another's, Dart should have enough time to sleep and be able to stay awake the rest of the time."

Hours 1-5: Ryoken and Dart on watch
Hours 6-8: Mwenye and Dart on watch
Hours 9-10: Erianna and Mwenye on watch
Hours 11-13: Erianna and Dart on watch
Since I haven't cast any 2nd level spells, I have just enough castings of rope trick for this.

The fight is over with 2 dead and 3 more unconscious in addition to the 4 captured in their sleep.

I would say that brings the total captured bandits to... Seven = 350 gold ;)

"We are happy to be of assistance" - Erianna smiles - "We put our heads together, and tried to take them with covert action - it proved quite successful, and with minimal casualties"

They take her and the men and put them in cells. The same clerk is there again to give you the bounties and rewards. For the men you are rewarded 50gp for each of them, the same as before but for the sorcerer you are given a letter of credit for 5,000gp. If you are to stay in the south they offer to spend it for you on whatever you desire and have it brought here.

"Your reward is most generous" - the woman bows deeply - "We will not forget about it. And please do let us know if ever we may be of any further help"

There was one that surrendered too. 8 men total in that case.

"You have proven yourselves very capable. There are many more bandit groups wandering around out there, not to mention the creatures that infest the forest. We are stretched a little thin and cannot promise safety except for the main road. Anything you do to help us keep the people safer will be appreciated and rewarded."

"Many bandits still escaped, but we did our best to make sure it would be difficult for them to continue robbing and attacking innocent travelers. Since we were on our way elsewhere, we will have to talk amongst ourselves before agreeing on further detours. But if we were to decide to help more, do you have advice on where we might go? Wandering aimlessly in hopes of being attacked sounds ill planned to me."

Part of me is eager to get to Rappan Athuk and start exploring it. Another part says, "No! Do all the side quests first for XP and gold so you're marginally less likely to die!"
