Rilka, if you're not taking a move action you can fire twice since you're hasted and your pistol magically reloads itself.

I updated the bubble-goal document. Some of them were potentially murky depending on the results of the prior days' actions.

More Akropash posting to come tonight.

Do you want to roll her second shot, Omen? We know whom she was attacking.

Are you sure an omniscient dwarf wasn't getting under her skin, perhaps just enough so to take a bullet? ;)

I want to meet this omniscient dwarf. I bet I would like the cut of his jibe. :-)

Edited Toramin.

IF YOU ATTACK A SPECIFIC ENEMY OR MOVE TO A DIFFERENT LOCATION OR OTHERWISE DO SOMETHING THAT SHOULD HAVE NUMBERS ATTACKED, TELL ME THE NUMBERS, BECAUSE I HATE ARBITRARILY DECIDING WHAT YOUR INTENTION WAS. IF YOU 5 FOOT STEP, TELL ME WHAT SQUARE YOU'RE STEPPING INTO. IF YOU ATTACK ONE OF THE ENEMIES, TELL ME THE NUMBER OF THEM.

Not only does this help me make sure what I'm doing is accurate, it's also a lot harder to forget about it if there's a number attached to your action.

Should we try to jump the crevice (maybe a 5' jump with difficult terrain plus ice/snow...DC maybe 15?) or run for it to the southeast corner of the map? I think we should run for it.

Numbers for the enemy will help, thanks DM Omen.

The drop is 40 feet. Or you can go to the southeast corner of the map to slide down a hill of snow.

The enemies are numbered on the map.

I forgot the very important "The" at the beginning of my sentence: "The numbers for the enemy will help, thanks DM Omen." My appreciation didn't translate very well.

Ah, understood. Thanks Rilka!

@Toramin, are we escaping from the direction we came? From the left side of the map. That's what I infer from your dialogue. I'm happy to do that.

I didn't like west at first (earlier in the fight), but considering the map, I think we should head west.

Random question:

In the past you have said you generally keep track of the xp we acquire, but you have also said you level us up at certain points in the narrative. Do fighting chance encounters such as these get us xp?

Yes, running away nets less XP than fighting. However I designed this encounter to be a near endless horde of undead (they would stop at 50) so staying much longer would have started costing lives.

Coralla is probably getting a whole lot more xp almost dying and watching us fight than she did in the bath house. :-) If she has a decent charisma, I recommend Sorcerer or Oracle (she could take the Winter Mystery. :-p))

I'm headed to bed. Assume Dalton does the following until his calcific touch wears off:

1. Targets the nearest two undead pursuing the party each round, preference given to partially calcified targets.

2. If no undead pursue the party, he will target one of the two he targeted this round until it is petrified, then use the remainder of his spell on the other.

He will remain high in the air (~80 feet like he is now).

On the bright side, at least Bjorkus has found out that drugs make him feel better temporarily!

Wait a minute...

On a different note, I am very excited to get to see Toramin's family and report to the VoitS.

I was going to wait for Toramin's reaction to Bjorkus being clearly drugged right in front of him before moving on.

Toramin believes that Bjorkus consented. Now if Liamsho starts jerking him off, Toramin would be like hey, "you need explicit consent for that!"

I rest my case!

If anybody is curious, the spell from the scroll is share memory, which is information Liamsho would share with you if asked. Took me a while to find a spell to serve this purpose.

I figured as much. The notion of caster more powerful than Liamsho is worrying. Do we have a general idea of what level he is?

From your knowledge of spellcraft and (in a few days) seeing him cast greater teleportation, you know he's at least level 13.

Yes, it should be worrying. Anybody that can sweep aside a 13+ caster like he's nothing should be worrying.

Male Dwarf Paladin (Stonelord) 11 l HP: 105/105 (127/127) l Init: +1 l AC: 30 (44 v giants) [T: 12 (14); FF: 27; CMD: 29/33(43)] l Fort: +13 (+15), Ref: +7, W: +9 (+11) (All saves increase by +5 for p, sp, and spls) l DR: 5 (Adamantine) l Per: -1

Was his teleportation divine or arcane in nature?

A scroll, which was arcane.

Although since it was a scroll, that means it wouldn't be directly indicative of his level.

Thanks for the tiny insight into the mysterious powers at work. Bjorkus would be more interested if he wasn't so down already.

It's past my bedtime (so I know it's waaaay past your guys's bedtime). Unless something drastic is going to happen to stop him assume Bjorkus storms back to his tent where he drinks until he can't feel anymore.

Are there any Aestherics that are outspoken about their disagreement with how things work? Would Bjorkus know of them?

There’s got to be someone out there that agrees with him.

Are you looking for an Aestheric who disagrees with how the Aestherics work? Because the council handpicks every single one of their recruits.

Sure but they’re not mindless contructs. There’s got to be someone that’s got Bjorkus’s back on this stuff even if it’s in word alone.

I'll tell you one thing for sure. If such a person exists, sitting in your room and drinking isn't going to find them.

Well he has to come out for food and/or more booze at some point. He'll ask around in the days between the party and now.

Can you be a little more specific? Because I have this hilarious vision of Bjorkus walking out, hammered out of his mind, and just going "So who else thinks Heff is full of s*$@?!" As loudly as possible.

Bjorkus, you've me more than a few Aestherics who don't like Heff.

1. The entire party.
2. 2/5 of the Hand Council
3. Every Aestheric who has casually mentioned he is a liar and an a+~+~@*.

Male Grizzly Bear 3 | HP: 30/30 l AC: 19 /T: 12/FF: 17 l Fort: +4, Ref: +5, W: +4 l Init: +2 l Per: +5; Low-light vision; Scent l Movement: 40

Right but they've all been towing the company line lately and it's kind of uncanny.

I assume word of his altercation on the night of the party must have gotten out. With how much people love to pick at the scab that is the ‘H’ word for Bjorkus I’d assume someone that agreed Bjorkus should be allowed a chance to settle the score would have spoken up.

‘Hey man, I heard what happened with Raul. I can’t believe the Council is defending him. If you get another chance at him, hit him once for me.’

Even if they want to see Raul face justice, he’s facing charges for war crimes/terrorism. Villains like that don’t get much public sympathy. I kind of expected people to be more sympathetic toward Bjorkus’s efforts.

Bjorkus will be open about how the Aestherics charged him to have Sylpha’s wings regrown. After everything he went through and the fact that she, in a way, she was responsible for saving him Alia made herself unavailable to help and Liamsho charged Bjorkus the majority of the coin to his name. Presumably after telling the story enough he’ll find a few people that agree with him.

THANK YOU.

You realize that most people who know Heff think he's a total prick, right? Like, basically everybody except Krokar, Alia, Yix...that might be about the limit of the list. Although I don't think you know what Geoffrey thinks of him.

Oh yeah Bjorkus, more than one person wants to see Raul thrashed, and more than a few want to see him hanged. However you've been very isolated and drunk to have much passing conversation. There are plenty of sympathetic people. You're just avoiding them by hiding in your room.

Ok, those details sound good. I'll get a response up later tonight.

Fair enough. I suppose it makes sense that management is all towing the company line. Bjorkus will have to go the other peons for some vindication.

I'm not sure if it's intended or not but Lilith may be muscling Heff out for my most loathed NPC.

Yeah she was under the effect of like, 5 spells upon entering the room. She just knew Bjorkus's suspicious nature would have made him jumpy if she started casting spells next to him.
