Regarding the spells, I would take Endure Elements were it in the appropriate school; right now, I'm trying to flesh-out the repertoire Dalton would have had by this age - and it would be what's in his area of specialty. Maybe Enlarge Person and Burning Disarm. Decisions!

I decided on Burning Disarm and Crafter's Fortune. Try as I might, I couldn't justify Dalton wanting to make himself any larger than he already was, so it's not something he would know. I can conceive of him liking the ability to disarm thieve's as a jeweler though, so I'm sure it will come in handy.

As for Crafter's Fortune? He likes making things that will sell!

Gabriel, do we have a plan besides not getting killed?

As far as I can see it we need to get up that wall with minimal loss of life.

We are trying to operate in a certain time window. Get close enough to the wall before they start firing at us again. Set up the ladders and try to create a beach head on that wall. Toramin is ready and willing to go up first to take the brunt of the initial attacks.

Hmm.... Toramin up one, certainly. But the other ladders risk getting hit. We need what archers we have shooting anyone who tries to peek out over the wall, and at the very least keep them from touching the ladders until we can get a few people defending the anchor points at the top. I would recommend the shields go last to protect anyone remaining, especially since they're the slowest, but we might have to have a couple go up before that to help defend the ladders up top. Plus if anyone can hold a shield over their head as they climb they'll likely have that much better a chance of surviving it.

Well, it would fit conservation of characters, but I think a story existed in this world before we happened along. Our stories enrich it. Flesh it out. But there was still a pre-existing story. So the true BBEG(W?) would be somebody who pre-existed our characters.

And im awake again, holy crap so many posts to read. Incase you weren't sure Lindale offerered to levitate another with him. Providing scaling the wall at 20ft per round takes a minute or less. Levitate lasts for 2 mins at my level.
