Tenoch Itzcoatl |
"You all been deputies before? Been lawman?"
"Of a sort. I expect this will be more fulfilling, however."
Tenoch muttered a phrase and motioned with his hand. The shadows nearby seemed to shift towads him, making it seem he was partially in shadow as he walked outside.
On the route he pulled one of his wands and uttered a quiet word. He then kept his eyes open while on the patrol.

Akhil |
I had to speed read, and try to only read relevant post. I have Wynnie, Brenog, and Goliath the Hammer in my group. We are going to a warehouse to stop an illegal shipment.
"Sorry I am late, but I am here now. Rumor has it that we are off to a warehouse?"
"What a bugbear? It will be nice to have one similar to myself around. I am Akhil by the way."
I then say hello to the others.
narrator |
Nico led the way through some narrow back alleys that even single file the others had to squeeze a bit to get through. He stopped them before they stepped out into a small courtyard that was surprisingly empty.
"Over there," Nico whispered. "That's the warehouse where they're keeping the shipment."
The dilapidated building the grimy youth pointed out didn't look much like a warehouse. It looked like an embarrassing excuse for a shack, poorly constructed even by Warrens standards.
Brenog Breuner |
"I'm truly sorry you don't appeal to me Goliath, but will try to be nicer to you from here on if that makes you feel any better" as he winks at Goliath and whispers "Just don't get the wrong idea, I still like women more."
Brenog dismounts and kneels next to Nico and observe the warehouse "Does it have any backdoors or other points of entry besides the the front? What do we know of the "merchants"?"
Janus Draugur |
Janus speaks up, Please, let me go scout it before you all rush in all willy-nilly. A little advance knowledge of the terrain is never a bad thing.
Janus Draugur |
Janus pulls off his dark cloak, flips it inside out, and swings it back around his shoulders. The mottled greys now show their true purpose; after only a few steps, it is clear that the cloak will help him fade into the city and become unseen. He moves slowly across the courtyard and swiftly vanishes from sight.
Stealth: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (12) + 20 = 32.
Janus will scout around the 'warehouse,' trying to get a look inside if there are any apparent windows. He will also look to see if there are any roof entrances.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24.
Ignot Pureflame |
"You all been deputies before? Been lawman?" he asks his teammates. He doesn't take his eyes off his surroundings when he does so.
Ignot takes up stride with the rest of his compatriots.
Not me. I spent most of my youth trying to avoid the law. I grew up in these parts, damned if I can remember the streets proper though. There's too much stuff in this noggin of mine.
He cocks his head towards Graal
Relax you mind and I will join you with us. Graal feels a slight pressure at the base of his neck and then it's gone. He hears now in his head a familiar voice.
He pauses for a second as if contemplating something then starts looking around keeping watch as they make their way towards the wall.I'm looking for trouble of course but also any rats or stray dogs to force into the collective. I also just cast Empathy which lets me detect emotions. I'm looking for fear and anger/rage
Sorry for the pace, I'm quite slow with all this extra weight
Edit:oh yeh i need to make rolls to perceive duh...

Jimbli Willit |
"You all been deputies before? Been lawman?" he asks his teammates. He doesn't take his eyes off his surroundings when he does so.
"No sir. Just odd jobs, liberation and retrieval, so to speak..." (you notice that Jimbli isn't actually walking... just bouncing and blinking forward a couple dozen feet every few seconds.)

Well, you stay hidden since they can't beat that stealth roll.
Janus can see through holes in the side of the building. There are two guards standing and looking bored in front of some crates. There are some signs of movement inside the crates, but it is slight. There are also several more guards lounging around playing cards towards the front of the building. There are no other entrances than the front one per se, but it looks like any part of this building could very rapidly become an entrance at any given moment.
Jimbli Willit |
"You mean theivin'?" he asks Jimbli
"Returning... mostly. For good or for bad its the same bag o' tricks."
::heads up, commotion ahead around the corner::
Janus Draugur |
How many guards in total?
Janus will also scout the surrounding buildings to see if there are enemy reinforcements in any of them.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13.
Wynnie of Nuestra |
"Here's my plan. I'll summon a Celestial Spider and have it knock on a window on the far side of the building. Hopefully the sight of it will cause enough panic that when Akhil, Goliath and Brenog bust in the front door they'll be caught unprepared. While you three head in that way, Janus and I will take the closer window and try to help the, ahem, 'merchandise' out. Thoughts?"
Kalmafein |

Janus Draugur |
Janus returns to his companions and reports what he has discovered.
...so as I see it, we need to thin the herd a bit. Any ideas how to get them to split up?
Avlar |
Avlar walks over with a odd look on his face. Looking down at the man he says "If he gets up again I am going to make sure he wished he did not." He than turns to the rest of his unit "Are we suppose to bring him in or put him up somewhere as an example?"
Graal |

::Jimbli, any clue how many people are involved? Can you point it out I can see and hear nothing amiss right now::
Ignot looks and listens for the commotion. Metal creaks as his looks side to side and rises to his toes looking over peoples heads.

"That works for me."
Akhil |
Are you three up for fighting nine men?
"I am sure you will be there to help as soon as you can", says Akhil with a smile.
"The question to be asked is are they ready for us."
With that said Akhil switches to his longbow.
"They will surrender or they will die. I really have no preference either way about what happens."
Janus Draugur |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Very well. We will assist as soon as the 'merchandise' is secure.
With that, Janus again moves very stealthily back to the warehouse to prepare the window for opening.
Stealth: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (5) + 20 = 25.
Goliath, Called The Hammer |
Goliath taps himself with his wand of shield.
Well let me go knock and say HI. I need a flanking buddy to take these lawbreakers down quick. And its got to be quick so they don't go slaughtering the merchandise. You sneak on up there little one. Be ready to call out if things are going bad on the inside.
Goliath waits for Janus and Wynnie to get into position. He thinks one last moment before knocking of the door if he could have came up with a better plan... He then smiles as he kicks in the door.
looks like you lot are under arrest. Now who wants to resist... He laughs.
22 to break the door.

Avlar walks over with a odd look on his face. Looking down at the man he says "If he gets up again I am going to make sure he wished he did not." He than turns to the rest of his unit "Are we suppose to bring him in or put him up somewhere as an example?"
Looking down thoughtfully at the unconscious man a moment Meredian then turns his attention to the woman and a charming smile crosses his face
."Are you alright, mam? Rest assured the watch is here even if you don't see us. Would you like an escort somewhere?"

Janus Draugur |
Peeking in through a corner of the window, Janus waits until either the guards are too distracted to notice, or they start trying to harm the prisoners. Once either of those two things happen, Janus will quickly and quietly slip in the window.

As he slips over the sill, Janus will beckon for Wynnie.
