Kavaki Gossamar |
Kavaki moves past the lemure chasing down Celeena. (provoke AoO)
if Lemure takes AoO...
Kavaki will try and trip the Lemure with redirection...
AoO trip: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
After completely missing the target and almost tripping Luciano instead, he bellows an apology to his comrade as he rushes on to get into melee with Celeena.
Once adjacent to Celeena, Kavaki will try and learn from his last failed trip attempt and try the same on her.
Celeena trip: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
if successful...
Kavaki will follow Celeena's fall to the ground with blow from his foot.
vicious stomp: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13 -4 AC for prone
damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
DC 14: reflex to negate being flat footed
Celeena! Stop this foolishness. You didn't pay your hired help enough coin. They've run off. You are alone, and outmatched. Surrender and you may live on to fight another day!"
GM Baerlie |
Shoris moves past the lemure which tries to hit him, but misses.
AoO Lemure: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
The lemure already took the AoO against Shoris.
Kavaki rushes on to Celeena and pushes her to the ground and kicks her. He asks her to give up, but Celeena does not want to. "My foolishness? You will learn what it means to fight a mighty sorceress!" she shouts.
The Unbalanced counter triggers when Kavaki makes the AoO while Celeena tries to get up, is that correct? Or does the vicious stomp count as AoO?

Adrastus shoots an arrow through the doorway at the lemure.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 3 - 4 = 12 Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Celeena tries to get up and moves back a step and draws a wand. AoO for Kavaki
The lemure swings it's claws at Luciano but hits only the shelf and pushes out some documents. Luciano parries the attack and pierces the lemure with his Rapier.

Surprised by Celeena's determination, and response; Kavaki will 5'step to get adjacent to her. He will summon an extra reserve of energy (spend 1 ki point for 1 additional attack) and begin a Flurry of Blows meant to disable Celeena instead of kill her.

"Your unwillingness to accept your fate is disappointing. Despite your insistance on experiencing your own demise, we WILL bring you to the Pathfinder Society to answer for your actions!"
Shoris |
Shoris moves back to where he can see the lemure, drawing his crossbow as he moves. Once he has a clear shot he lets the bolt fly.
crossbow attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
crossbow damage: 1d8 ⇒ 5
Adrastus Vorelian |
We'll go with another shot on the same lemure as I was targeted on before.
Shortbow: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 3 - 4 = 12
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Even though the unnatural infernal flesh of the lemures seem to swallow his arrows whole, a grim smile still tugs at the corner of Adrastus' mouth as he sees the missile hit home.
GM Baerlie |
While Luciano tries to pierce the lemure with his rapier Adrastus shoots an arrow at the creature. The arrow is deflected by one of the lemure's fleshy tumors.
The lemure swings it's claws at Luciano again, but misses.

Kavaki trips the lemure and kicks it. The first kick hits the lemure in it's face. Although a part of the damage is absorbed by the huge amount of flesh it opens a big wound. Also the other two kicks hit, but only the third one deals more damage. DR 5

It's a Lemure Devil. They are lawful evil and are immune against fire, mind-affecting effects and poison. They are also resistant to acid 10 and cold 10 and have a damage reduction of 5 if they are not hit by a good or silver weapon.
This is what you told me when I made my Knowledge check for the first lemures we faced. Kavaki was using a silver knuckle axe.
Shoris holds steady with a bolt in his crossbow, waiting for a shot.
readying an attack if the lemure tries to stand.
crossbow attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 8
GM Baerlie |
Yes, this is still the case, but I missed that it was a silver weapon. Sorry.
Kavaki's attacks were strong enough to kill the lemure. The ball of flesh sinks to the ground covering the floor with a disguisting liquid. The soul of the lemure goes back where it came from.
After searching Celeena's body, you find the documents you are looking for. You take the documents back to the Lodge where Venture-Captain Dreng already awaits you. After looking at the documents he says "With Celeena stopped and the documents secured, Absalom is once again safe from invasion"
Celeena is put on trial for treason, a family tradition as it seem, and sentenced to a lengthy prison term. The crypt and the archives are cleared out by various members of the Society who catalog the unique items therein. The Society brings in a cleric to consecrate the remains of the Deckland family interred in the crypts, and properly restore the crypts to a manageable status.
