Telos attacks the warhounder again, but the polearm goes too wide. Lucrezia turns around and tries to reach Telos and the warhounder before it's too late. Cade and Fang can't see or smell any more opponents. Only one warhounder and Nessian are still standing. Rod prepares to trip Nessian in case he does not surrender.

"Me?" Rod suddenly realized he had a marvelous opportunity to show off... and Shelyn knows, he did enjoy that! What to do, what to do! He had to think of something quick! He was still feeling those bolstering effects from Eloisa's earlier singing...

"...uhhhahahahaha! ..I'm Rod! Rod Benteft! Champion of the Pathfinder Society! And this-- hey!" His speech was interrupted as Nessian sought to get up, leading to Rod's quick thinking to swing his flail at the crime boss' legs and knock him prone.

"Aw, dang it! I had something cool, too! Ah, screw this!" Rod pouted, before diving on top of Nessian and hoping to pin him to the ground. "As I was saying...! This is the part where you give up!"

Initiating a grapple to try and pin him. (At least, I think that's how it's supposed to go...)

Tch, thought as much. A coward with sway. As if I couldn't hate this guy any more. Rod thought, before forcing Nessian's hands behind his back. "The codebook! Where is it!?" he ordered, looking up at Cade and nodding to her dinosaur. "Nice work! When we get the book, take it to Yargos right away. He can get to work sending the cancellation signal!"

Meanwhile, Rod kept Nessian pinned as he waited for the others to arrive, preferably with some rope to tie up the crime boss.

Rod nods as he grips at Nessian's bound arms. "Agreed. Though, if Absalom's laws are anything like those of Magnimar, I wager he'll not be seeing much of the Puddles, or anywhere else, for quite a while." His eyes drift to Lucrezia as she spoke. "If there is one thing I've learned from my dad, intended or not, it's this: the law can only do so much. The guards aren't champions of justice... merely keepers of order. That's why they need folks like us, to accomplish what they can't. I think, somewhere in between, is the fine balance we gotta shoot for."

Rod turned his gaze back to Yargos, frowning a bit. "What about you, Master Yargos? Do you intend to return to the Puddles district? I'm certain the Society could find use for a historian of your caliber..."

"It's hard these times to get an honest job in this city. And I'm the fifth child of five. My brothers always treated me like an animal so I wanted to be somebody, a boss of something. I decided to do what I can do best, stealing and intimidating." Nessian answers.

"I will follow you to the lodge. There is so much I want to tell the Pathfinder historians about this book. It's really interesting that after so many years the binding word still exists. And that the Black Echelon became undead with strong powers. I wonder how many families in Absalom have ancestors from Taldor who were part of the Silent Tide and they even don't know it." "So you decided to take your anger out on the whole of Absalom?!" Rod snapped at Nessian, apparently unmoved by his tale, true or not. "There is always the choice to use what you know for better, not worse! Summoning the hordes of an undead invasion can't be justified by childhood anger!"

Rod glared him down as he spoke, eyes flaring with passion. "You're talking to the wrong man for sympathy for a painful childhood. But I chose to stand up, tall, and proud, put my skills to better use than petty actions. You've always got the choice, got it? You want respect? Real respect? Rise above that petty behavior! That's for little kids, to want pay back for hurt feelings. Be better than that!"

Rod pulled Nessian along as he opted to take him to the city guard. "Master Yargos, I hope you'll find the Lodge a welcoming home. I'll meet up with you later - I'd like to study with you sometime. But I don't think we can call this mission successful until we take care of him." Rod nodded to the others. "Tell the captains I'll fill my side of the report when I get through with this, will you?"

Conclusion:

Though only few will be aware of your bravery, you stopped the Silent Tide and saved Absalom from a potentially devastating attack. Better still you brought Nessian and his War Hounders to justice.

You have the thanks of Yargos and his friends, and they ensure that your reputation within the Puddle District is deservedly enhanced. Yargos will prove to be a friend and ally that you can rely upon in the future.

Finally, also Grandmaster Torch may prove to be a valuable future business contact.

You are always welcome! Thanks for playing with me. Please do your day job rolls, I already got them from Eloisa and Lucrezia.
