"Look - there is a greasy stain oozing from between the slats of the ground floor windows, and there is a different dark substance coating the door-knocker... Something is definitely not right, here..."
He then gingerly attempts to open the door.

Galahad's sense that something is not right intensifies as he goes to open the door as he reaches to open up the door, he notices something odd about the locking mechanism, as if the door handle is actually trapped and quickly pulls his hand back. The door looks rigged to spray some kind of liquid over anyone opening the door.

Bani finds tracks of several humans that have gone in and out of this door, but no tracks leading to other entrances. A bit stranger, she also finds doll sized humanoid tracks within the few feet of the door. It seems to have come out, walked and stood within a couple feet of the door, and gone back in.

Assuming everyone else stays away so that they won't be affected. Also building in a +2 circumstance bonus as Galahad knows it's coming, and tries to get out of the way.

Galahad reaches around and begins to open the door, splattering his arm with what looks like blood as it sprays out almost a full 15 feet, covering the front stoop and the trail leading to the door. The liquid quickly starts to burn where it touched, leaving redness and blistering. Thankfully by being to the side of the door, the damage was limited. Standing in the stream that fired outwards would have been much more painful and deadly.
With the door open, you get your first look inside. Scratches and dark stains cover nearly every surface in this spacious living room. To the right, paintings and other once-fine objects give fuel to a fire roaring in the hearth. Bent, broken, and bloody cutlery juts at odd angles from the table in the center of the room. Books lie scattered in heaps next to broken shelves, and shards of shattered dishes spill forth from their cabinets. An open door to the left looks into the filthy kitchen, and stairs to the left lead up to the next floor. Tiny bloody footprints cover the stairs, heading in both directions.

Once the elf has braved the flames, Bjorn joins him in searching the building. "Looks like there's been a fight. Stay on your toes."

Bani gets into the house “But… what happened here?!”
She shakes at the sight of the bloody footprints. “No no… Stay calm, Bani…”, she whispers.
Then she begin to analyze the floor and to follow the tracks “ Don’t’ panic! We absolutely must know what happened here!”

The bloody prints look like a mix of ages, ranging from a couple days to a couple hours. They are definitely not human, although they are humanoid in shape.

As you begin to enter and start your search, a tiny blade flies from up top of one of the bookshelves in the room heading straight at Galahad.

The blade strikes Galahad solidly in the shoulder, drawing everyone's attention to a tiny humanoid figure on top of the bookshelf across the room. "Haha Gellion! Your friends can't stop me either. I will kill them all!"

Manus orders his ape forward and it begins to climb the bookshelf to catch the small doll-like figure.

Unfortunately when the ape grabs onto the shelf, a click can be heard, sending a fork flying across the room and into the ape's back, dropping it from the shelf. Seeing the creature fall, the tiny humanoid jumps up and down cheering and jeering. "Take that you hairy friend of Gellian!" He turns his attention back to the others in the doorway, unleashing another small knife towards Galahad.

The blade this time hits Galahad square in the chest, and is greeted with a spurt of blood. The little humanoid jumps up and down again taunting.

The tiny creature is a homunculus, a type of construct sometimes created as familiars or lab assistants. They are typically tied to their creator so that harming one harms the creator and vice versa.
Sorry about the dice. Haven't hardly managed a roll in double digits in my games as a PC. Not where I want two crits in one round.

"Galahad if you and the Ape can move away from the little beast, I can channel healing energy for the two of you."
Once the two injured are far enough removed from the creature that he won't include it in his healing Tanin channels healing.

Manus finishes fussing over his ape. The ape stays sitting, a bit tired. Manus walks into the room and starts looking around the room very carefully.
