Character Creation
Keep in mind we are only four strong due to scenario limitation.
Standard Character Creation from the core rule book.
1000 credits to start off
You can buy anything with an item level equal to you character level +1.
I expect one post per day, more so if you are feeling into it. If for some reason you can not post, please be up front with me and the group, that way we can bot you appropriately.
This is a new rule set, so there are going to be bumps along the way, lets try and stay patient with each other and work through them together.
I will be giving out Society chronicles for this. The whole adventure path is sanctioned and given out at the end. Just provide me with the you SFS number.
So please, discuss among yourselves on class make up and lets get the ball rolling.
Also make sure to dot in gameplay so that it shows up in your campaign tabs.

Hello guys. I'm about to scoot out to work, but before I go a few base character ideas I had were;
I have an Android Envoy already built for eventual SFS use that I could easily play here instead.
I'm also open to building a caster (technomancer or mystic is fine) to fill that role if the party needs. I'm a bit less interested in melee as my first SFS character is already being one, but I'd be open to a Solarian as well.

Hey guys! I'm looking forward to it, and to seeing who else is in this game :)
My first instinct was to create an Envoy and have her function as our main pilot and party face. I gave her longarm proficiency to extend her usefulness during combat. She's a damaya lashunta.
Suede, if you'd rather be the Envoy, my second choice is Soldier. I am not picky.

Hi guys!
At work so can out down real ideas shortly but my initial concepts are either;
Damata Lashunta Mechanic with Drone. Go for the engineer role or even captain by putting ranks in all the needed skills. Likely a Scholar theme
Kasatha Soldier - strength and dex for switch hitting as needed, likely to look at being the gunner on the ship. Will either be a Merc or Ace pilot for theme ^^

Well now that I've made my lunch and am actually leaving.
I'm fine keeping my Envoy for society play (And the more I read techmancer the more I want to play one ;) ), and right now it could be
Myself - Technomancer/Mystic that plays science officer
Red - Envoy Pilot
Sethran - Mechanic Engineer/Captain or the switch hit soldier.
We'll see what our 4th wants to do as well.

Hey Suede! Nice to play with you again! And thanks Z.D. for the invite!
I can fill in a hole that we need. Sounds like the ones up for grabs are captain or engineer for Starship Combat, and regular combat wise we coul use some beef or skill monkey. Typically I play skill monkeys or spellcasters, so I would be perfectly cool playing an Operative (which can easily fill any of those Starship roles), but as a second choice if we need beef I am also intrigued by Solarion.
Not sure if we go with a theme, but I'm not tied to any race at the moment. If I start thinking about the race I want to play, the backstory will come so I will leave it at that before making suggestions (although I love the idea of an Android...)
Also, just a warning I will be quiet most of today and tomorrow as I am working out of my home state in the US and Friday will be a travel day for me. The creative juices have started flowing....

Hmm, I actually think we should be okay skill-wise with my envoy and skill expertise. I will also likely side with the ace pilot theme. It seems like we're more in need of a beefy melee PC.

Looks like it's heading that way if everyone is good with it.
I'd be picking up all the obvious skills; Life Science, Physics, Medicine, Computers. Probably Piloting if I have to jump in on gunnery to make up for decreased BAB, and Engineering to help fix the ship if it's getting torn up and that need priority, and perception because its useful.
I'd also go for the fabricate knacks so I can make us toys as necessary.

Went ahead and took Survival as it's on none of our class lists and Solarions just get 2 skills they can choose to be on their list. Took Perception because it's good, and taking Athletics and Acrobatics as it might be useful. Last skill is free, but it looks like Mysticism might be useful in this party (and is flavorful for him). This guy's only worth on a Starship is going to be gunner, but it seems that role needed to be filled anyway.
Getting heavy armor proficiency so he's good with taking hits, and going with the Solar Weapon option.
I'm imagining others will take care of ranged stuff moreso. G-607 will be slumming it a little on the weapons, but has his melee solar weapon.
GM: This won't affect G-607 until level 4 at least, but thought I'd pose the question. Can I place a weapon fusion on a solar weapon crystal? Again, don't really need an answer right away as the lowest level of weapon crystal is 5 anyway.

Built up my character for the most part.
Don't know what to pick on languages. Given G-607's backstory, it doesn't matter too much, but with his 12 int he does get 1 extra language. Suggestions?

I have my PC ready on paper, I'm just applying the finishing touches to her and should have her ready by tomorrow afternoon at the latest. I need to work on her fluff more after that, but that can be built over a few days without affecting gameplay.

Here we go. I've got a laser rifle to assist in ranged combat with longarm proficiency, and I took Get 'Em to add to my support role. She also has a pistol and a knife. I figure I'll use her second Skill Expertise with Diplomacy or Intimidate to further amp up her social skills. I need to give my sheet one final look to make sure I calculated everything right... This is so much harder without Hero Lab heh.

Just finished my fellow up. Right now he just has a light pistol, cut my funds pretty close. I picked up Heavy Armor to tank him up a little bit so he won't be too squishy. I want to get a basic medkit, but I couldn't afford it just yet.
Down the line he's going to get a sniper rifle for his proficiency and combine it with spell shot for some nice artillery attacks. I'm also going to likely grab the fabricate hacks for in the moment needs and magical appearing heavy weapons.
Ditto on the starfinder avatars. I think I calculated everything correctly. Andrew, I picked up Akiton, Brethedan, Castrovelian, Vercite for languages if that helps you decide.

Hi guys, Sethran here. Sorry it took me longer than expected to get it all up.
Done now, I know the background will get the full lot typed up soon (it is 3am and I'm off to bed :p). Basics here:
Yannick is a thin, often sickly Lashunta teenager raised by a Vesk 'Uncle' who goes by the nickname Kon. He has been raised in the puddles in Kon's Mechanical repair shop and has spent a lot of his time either working for Kon or with the Scavenger league in botscrap. He has an interest in meteorology and has been recently travelling to Diaspora to investigate the asteroids.
Due to his explorations, Uncle Kon has insisted that he take protection. This comes in the form of Zygex, his trusty Combat Drone, modelled after a fierce Vesk Warrior.

Unless I am not seeing it. But did Starfinder nerf the penalty for shooting into melee.
I see no precise shot and it is not in the combat modifiers sections

Personally, I'm a fan of range-focused characters no longer having to take a feat tax.
Side note... I had assumed our PCs here know each other since we got here on the same ship with the same instructions. Do we, though?

I added +1 to my Supernova. I'm not sure if that's correct, but Photon Mode reads that it adds +1 to all damage, including stellar revelations, so it sounded correct to me.

Added a loot spreadsheet under the campaign title. If you wish to keep something for yourself, please take the quantity down. As far as the credits, you can divide it among yourselves or keep it in a team "account".
You can also sell things if you wish. But when you do it is only worth 10% of its value.

I'd say pool them for now. When we've got enough it's worth looking at purchases we can decide if the group needs anything, then split the rest for personal purchases.

In this edition, since things sell at 10%, it's far more efficient to use what you got if you can. In some cases we could probably rip the batteries out of some of these guns and use them in others.

Hey team - I created a quick Google Doc with details on some of the people we have met and some of the events going on. Feel free to add, revise, and reformat as you wish.
With APs in PbP, it's easy to get overwhelmed with the amount of characters, locations, and events that occur. I find a few notes can go a long way in jogging my memory, I hope it serves you guys well too! :)

GM, does that mean only the same person who rolls the Computers check can take 20 on the subsequent Diplomacy and Culture checks? Or, for example, if Yannick passes the computers checks, am I able to take 20 on Diplomacy? Can that be aided?

Everyone should be at 250 exp right now. First level up is at 1300. That being said, hopefully I am doing this right. First time I ever dealt with actual Experience points outside of Society Play.
