There is no doors, just the painting on the wall
Two Blades presses the dagger to the raven and nothing special happens. The dagger continues to pulse and glow faintly. You notice it is glowing the same color as the first set of runes from the east.
Thordir |
"Wait. Look at the runes on the floor over there. They seem to be glowing the same color as these artifacts. See? The nearest rune is glowing with the same color as the dagger. Two Blades, try to touch the blade to the rune on the floor over there. I'll try the next one."
Does the next rune match the ring or the amulet? And is the rod doing anything here?
GM Z..D.. |
When two blades holds the dagger over the runes, they dim and then stop glowing. The next set of runes glow the same color as the ring with the hound on it.
The ring does the same thing to this set of runes. However the amulet with the goat does not seem to react to the third set of runes.
On the body at the top of the steps you see a gleaming bracelet on his wrist.
GM Z..D.. |
No evil is detected by the paladin....
Two blades steps over a set of glowing runes feels something in the back of his mind but fades by the time he reaches the last set of runes that stop glowing once the amulet with the goat crosses it.
two blades will: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
The bracelet seems to have a rat stenciled into it. And matches the same runes on the third set.
Once the lat set of runes have been deactivated, the party makes their way into the final chamber.
The air in this chamber is strangely humid, and a thin layer of fog clings all across the floor. A staircase descends from the east and another staircase to the west is fully obstructed by rubble. Several statues with serpent motifs stand in the area. To the north, a large, green stained-glass window looms behind a twisted statue of three serpentine men conjoined at the hip. Vines snake across the floor from a central pool filled with luminescent green liquid. In several places, faintly glowing arcane script inscribed on the floor tiles shines through the mist.

He is unable to discern what might have killed the person, however, so he moves on along with the others.
Upon arriving in the mist-filled chamber and receiving the welcome of a couple blasts of fiery energy from the statue, Thordir looks at the strange statue with surprise. Realizing that he would need to hit particularly hard if he wanted to break the statue, he allows the deep-seated fury that lies dormant within his blood to rise and flow over, sending him into a maddening rage! His muscles ripple and bulge with improved power as his eyes loose some of their sharp focus and clarity. In his enraged state, he rushes forward and strikes out with his glaive.

Haha! No problem. Glad our rogue got a moment to shine. :)
As the statue crumbles beneath his glaive, Thordir regains control of himself and staggers to one knee, breathing heavily. John, Kord, would one of you fine men mind giving me a touch with this?"[/b] From within his cloak, he pulls a wand of bright pine wood inscribed with runes in a silver filigree, offering the wand to the divinely touched members of the party.

While looking round the room Sab sees creases in the the wall and pushes on them to find a door.
Following the hallaway back, you find a room hidden.
Eerie green lights burn all along the walls of this laboratory. A staircase ascends to the east, and a collapsed one lies to the west. A stained-glass window looms over an operating slab where the remains of a humanoid creature lie chained to the stone. Several tablets and other strange items lie atop the various tables.
On the table lays a really large bastard sword.
The site being thoroughly investigated, the PCs have enough to head back to Khari, with there heads high. The way back through the desert to Khari is uneventful. With out too much delay, the PCs climb aboard a Chelish frigate to head back to Corentyn.

The PCs spend the night on the frigate and reach Corentyn by evening.

When the PCs arrive to meet with Zefiro, the museum appears dark and empty except for several muffled voices audible in the building’s east wing.
Double doors open into a hall filled with bookshelves, display cases, and two large tables piled with manuscripts. Several oil lamps keep the darkness at bay even at night. A rolling ladder stands at the east end of the library. Two staircases near the doors rise to the balconies on both sides of the hall. The railed balconies run across the length of the hall with a third one rising even higher to the east. There, a pair of doors leads into a second-story office.
A woman with dark, flowing hair speaks from the highest balcony. “How nice of you to deliver yourselves to me. I was just about to come find you! I strongly advise that you turn yourself in for questioning—though I must admit that part of me hopes you won’t, since our friends to the east are sure to hammer the truth out of the traitor Zefiro anyway.”
As she speaks you see two figure move on the balcony, bows drawn.

Thordir |
In the ruins...
Thordir approaches the table and examines the remains and the various artifacts spread across the surface. He reaches out to touch the sword, but pulls his hand back at the last moment. "Anyone care to check this for signs of dark magic? I don't think picking up a cursed sword would be a good way to end our investigation here."
He also looks at the tablets and tries to puzzle out what they say, but finds his skills with languages lacking. "I'm afraid I don't know this language. Wait! I think I have something for that. John, could you help me with this?" He pulls a scroll of comprehend languages from his pack and hands it to Two Blades, asking him to cast the spell on him so he can read the tablets.
"Fascinating! The tablets contain information about both infusing constructs with fiendish energy and about the war with Ancient Osirion. One tablet details Jistkan plans to arm constructs with manufactured weapons designed to combat their div enemies. The Jistkans were a fascinating, but vicious people, it would seem."
Having deciphered the tablets, and assuming someone checks the sword and finds it free of curses, Thordir helps collect the artifacts and safely stow it for transport back to Corentyn. He also takes copious notes in his journal about the layout of the ruins, especially how they relate to the various levels of Hell.
Back in Corentyn...
"It certainly sounds that way, Kord," Thordir says evenly. He then calls out to the woman loudly, "Here you stand, in a library, a source for untold knowledge and wisdom, and yet you choose to threaten four capable warriors and their friend? Some people never learn."
Don't forget it's several days later, folks, so all spells, abilities and HP are back to full. :)
Two Blades in the Shadows |
Looking over the sword, Two blades shook his head. "Looks to be magical I guess but have no idea what kind."
Two Blades helped with reading the tablets. "This tale is getting even fishier every moment" he said.
I will differ to the others as what they want to do in the museum as I have played it in PFS(non-core)

Sab was surprised to find the museum so dark. It was not in that way the other times they come here. When she find that woman and sees the reaction of Kord, she tries to calm the mood
Ma'am, Kord does not really means it. You know, that orc blood in his veins are always to easy to excite. Could you pleeeease tell us what are the charges against Zefiro? As you see, we have been out of town for a while and there is no way we can be related with that.
