Brydan Blackbury |
So what you're saying is somehow I have to take her in as a ward...then expose him...so that I can justify taking the House and it's power into our House >.>
Brydan Blackbury |
Woah, you are saying that the game of thrones has simple maneuvers? Psh, make's me wanna bet him for Val to become a ward of the family.
Or find him guilty of some terrible crime first, take her as ward, then expose him as not the actual Lord Osprey....Like perhaps even conspiracy to commit murder?
That's a good reason to do a backroom deal to take her as a ward right, bring him forth with evidence that he had committed said crime but willingness for the family to turn their eyes from the affront if he proves his eagerness to reconcile such a vile act by offering his heir as Ward for at least five years.
Then later that week, expose him after he's publicly offered her as ward.
~schemes so hard~
Brydan Blackbury |
I mean. I haven't even had a moment to talk to the family one bit!!! I am being forced to play the villain by myself.
Athera Dayne |
I'm sorry I had to go save the knight and take care of a dispute! XD
Totally didn't think it would take this long! ;P
Athera Dayne |
Ohohoh! Is that open season on the Blackbury brothers? Hmm, it just might be! XD
Don't let Athera hear Brydan saying anything like that, she might actually take him up on it! ;P
Athera Dayne |
Then he learns her goal is love. He isn't the only romantic around here, Athera is just a little more quiet about it. Well that and she's Dornish. Romance isn't off the table for them once you're married.
Brydan Blackbury |
We have a lot of Lovers in this Household then it seems :P
Brydan's goal is also Love but his Vice is Greed so he can be a bit....hard to love?
GM Xan Nes |
I dunno man. Could be greed to have all the love? maybe he is a bit possessive if he finds a lady love?
You know what just for fun, let's roll up Val XD (no relation to the thing above)
Backgorund event: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5 You were kidnaped and escaped, were ransomed, or rescued.... This seems like a current thing aswell....
Goal: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 2) = 4 Fame.
Motivation: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 3) = 9 Peace
Virtue: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 1) = 7 Humble.... This already fits
Brydan Blackbury |
There is a number of ways to look at it, he could be greedy about the number of women he loves, he could be power hungry, any number of things...I haven't figured out how he's gonna be greedy...well I already have him a bit Power Hungry but what true Noble worth his salt doesn't want a alittle more.
GM Xan Nes |
So I was trying to figure out what taking over House Osgrey would take.
If you just get her as a ward for five years, I'd argue that is a windfall event. After all that would be a massive status boost. But once she is free she gets control of the House.
You would only get all the Osgrey lands with a marriage.
Athera Dayne |
Yeah that is normally how it works. The lands remain with the last surviver of the main branch. Also this video really helps with the laws of succession that are commonly used in Westeros. Though this is not a Game of Thrones video. Check it out and tell me what you think?
GM Xan Nes |
Looks correct. Basicly, how I see it working is that is say Dennith or Brydan marrying Val would determine who gets those lands. Since the two of you are the Blackburys. So if Dennith were to marry then he is Lord of both lands, but if Brydan marries he could either take over the Osgreys and be Brydan Osgrey or take the House into Blackbury but retaining his own land.
Also there is little information as to what5 House Osgrey actually has.... Aside from the fact that they have a cadet branch, that is scheduled to die out in 10 years. They have Leafy Lake and were formed 1000 years before the conquest. Nothing on their lands. Also in about 15 years their prominence dies out in cannon. So they are already wanning in power which explains the imposter.
But still lots of missing information. Do they have a hall? A castle? Athera you are the only hope here before I just roll them up like im making them
Athera Dayne |
I found two things that may help.
Before AC: At that time they possessed four castles and were done fealty by a score of lesser lordlings and a hundred landed knights. Their largest castle was Coldmoat, which was raised by Lord Perwyn Osgrey.
Under the Rule of King Maegor from 42AC-48AC: Lord Ormond Osgrey lost Coldmoat when he spoke out against King Maegor the Cruel for his suppression of the Poor Fellows and the Warrior's Sons.
So they likely do have a castle. But it's a small one as they have lost their largest one and I'm sure some others where burned during the Conquest.
Athera Dayne |
Hey, we could marry her to Marcus! It would help rebuild his family, reword those who have been loyal to the Blackbury name even as their own house began to die out, and bring their lands into the fold as Grimwood are sworn to Blackbury.
GM Xan Nes |
Why? I haven't finished building Val yet. Also until the massive decline, the Osgrey's are still status five. Just saying. And 2 castles since they still have the cadet branch. Along with these units and stuff
2 small castles
3 sets if land, one with a lake and the other two with hamlets.
A population of 40 (if this gets added to a house you add 4 to the current population)
2 Trained Cavalry
4 trained infantry
Athera Dayne |
but I doubt the Grimwoods are gonna remain in decline at this moment
This, in Game of Thrones, can be very bad or very good!
And sometimes both.
GM Xan Nes |
So I would like to point out one of the differences so far. Lord Osgrey is this guy
http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Eustace_Osgrey
However, in this case, he had three daughters, with Val and Alex being the surviving daughters.
And one last thing you guys should know if you want to get it under your control
Standfast is the stronghold of House Osgrey in the Reach. It is called a castle by courtesy, but more closely resembles a towerhouse. Three villages fall within its dominion. Its exact location has not yet been published, but it is located in the north of the Reach with their Castle at Leafy Lake being near Golden Grove
Brydan Blackbury |
Honestly the biggest issue is that his holds are in the Northern portion of the Reach and we are located like South...east?
Brydan Blackbury |
~Prepares to tear the poor Knight asunder in glorious fashion~ I mean what....Psh, Athera walking around with a man like he's a suitor. Gonna get his s@#! wrecked like a suitor...verbally!
Hmm? I mean, we can become friends sure sure...maybe even odd manly rivals? Lord Tyrell that is
