"I feel bad about not being able to pick her brain..."
Oskar looks like he's about to chime in with a comment...
"And i don't mean off the floor."
...and then doesn't.
His brow furrows as he tries to think through this plan. "We think we can do this, huh? Summon these jackasses one at a time, and just beat them down until we deplete the well's energy? Is there, uh, like any sort of risk t'us? Like, we're summoning some bad s**t here; is this a case of 'Doin' something awful for a good reason?'"
GM Woran |
"Well..." Vorvashali gestures a bit, looking for words, then grinning once he thinks of a good example. He waves Oskar over.
"I think its more like the blood is the final catalyst. Like spells mostly come from yourself, and need a small physical component. Or in the way of alchemy, if you have an over saturated solution, adding one crystal, causes the whole bottle to crystalize. I think its much the same with this. The pool holds the energy and shapes it, we just add the last bit it needs."
Illosari gives his sword a pat. "We could set up a kind of ambush, and try at least 1. Then check what that does to whomever supplied the blood. If it has an adverse effect, we can always find a new plan."
''Vitro'' Wizjietroczenon |
"Why don't we try to squeeze the remainder out of this one?" Vitro nudges the quazzzit corpse with his boot.
Oskar Dragenaev |
Oskar is satisfied by Vorvashali's answer, nodding his head in understanding. Hell, this is damn near the first time I got what the hell he was sayin'.
"That sounds more pleasant than nicking my tail with a dagger. We good to try this now?"
Oskar makes a show of being disappointed. "Does it, though?" He stops joking around, though, and makes a face that clearly indicates something has occurred to him. "If we're gonna do this, fine, but, uh, are we sure those things we been seein' are all that can come o' this? I'd hate t'get a big-ass version of one'o those things, y'know?"
Justin Norvegicus |
"You can take a knife to your own tail after I figure out how to grow you one. Honestly the back problems you get from the lack of balance....If the former queen of underpoint could have summoned something bigger i think she would have."
Oskar Dragenaev |
"You can take a knife to your own tail after I figure out how to grow you one."
Oskar sounds a bit put out. "You've got one right there, and you're barely using it...!"
"If the former queen of underpoint could have summoned something bigger i think she would have."
After considering this for a moment, Oskar nods in agreement. "I hope you're right, seryyka." Oskar tries to remember where the creature appeared in the room, getting aproxiamtely within arm's reach of the spot. "I'm ready when y'all are, just gimme warning b'fore ya do it."
Could one of you put Oskar in the appropriate spot?
Justin Norvegicus |
Justin heads to Bitey and digs out the black necromancers robe, puts it on and adjusts the hood and the tiara.
"If I can command them, I'll make them fight each other to the death for my amusement. Otherwise, I'm going to enlarge you both and teleport behind you, and let you play. We'll have three minutes to get as many of them down before it wears off, after that we can decide to keep going or try again tomorrow."
Assuming we're doing this
+4 strength enlarge person on Oskar (he can now lift the rock off)
+4 strength enlarge person on Dayo
The little rat ahahhhehemes and waves his arms around a bit to stretch them out and wriggles his fingers before putting them up over his head dramatically
"Codwch ac ufuddhau i'ch Frenhines, bydd llid yn eich galw i wasanaethu!! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAaaaahahahaahahah! " and pours a few carefully measured drops of quassit blood into the well. (if that doesn't work, He'll use the tiny throwing dagger and nick his tail.)
You get the impression he's been practicing an inordinate amount of time for just this moment...
Vy "Snowflake" Baro |
Vy sighs.
"I'm going to regret this, aren't I? and prepares himself for battle by casting bless and drawing shield and spear
GM Woran |
Vorvashali, Ilosari and Brodert look on in amusement at how dramatic Justin is being.
Brodert retreats to the back of the room, not one for fighting.
Ilosari draws his sword, and Vorvashali looks ready to cast a spell.
You officially cant ready outside of combat, but this would be one hell of a surprise round.

The blood of the quasit hits the broiling water, which emediately reacts. It froths violently for a moment. Those checking it magical aura see that the aura of the 'water' intensifies for a moment, then significantly decreases.
A sinspawn rises from the water, dragging itself out of the well.
Everyone can get 1 attack in, because the sinspawn sure as hell is surprised!
Oskar Dragenaev |
Doing his best to not let himself be unnerved by the sinspawn suddenly hauling itself out of the pool, Oskar quips, "Hey, how ya doin'," before launching a large fist at the creature's head.
Including a +1 from Vy's bless spell.
Unarmed Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 7 + 1 = 18
Unarmed Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
My header should fully reflect the changes due to enlarge person, but I think my touch and FF ACs are off. LMK if that's an issue.
''Vitro'' Wizjietroczenon |
Vitro stands guard at the door, sword in one hand, paraphernalia in the other. Making some gestures and uttering some words he projects a glob of sour-smelling green goo at the emerging s'pawn.
Acid Splash Touch To Hit: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Unfortunately he was still maneuvering to properly secure the door, and his aim goes wide, the acid splashing next to Oskar's feet.
"Careful!"
GM Woran |
longsword Ilosari power attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
damage: 1d8 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
Ilosari gives the sinspaw a great whack.
scorching ray 1 Vorvashali: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
scorching ray 2 Vorvashali: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Vorvashali scorches off some hear of Ilosari's head, but the second ray hits.
damage: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 3, 2) = 7
The last ray burns a hole trough the sinspawns checst and it flops on the ground.
Vorvashali looks immensely pleased with himself.
Oskar Dragenaev |
Oskar picks up the body and tosses it into a corner (checking first to make sure he's not tossing it onto anybody).
"Next!"
''Vitro'' Wizjietroczenon |
Vitro holds up the bottle of acid like a prism and shakes it accusingly at the emerging ugly.
Acid Splash touch to hit: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Damage: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

"Who doesn't love the smell of puke in the morning?"
"I won't say I love it, but y'know, it's a cost of a good time, sometimes."
Unarmed Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 1 = 12
Unarmed Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
GM Woran |
longsword Ilosari power attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
Ilosari looks worried that he misses...
scorching ray 1 Vorvashali: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
scorching ray 2 Vorvashali: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
damage ray 1: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 6, 3) = 15
damage ray 2: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 4, 6) = 15
Luckily Vorvashali manages to blow two sizable holes in it, but it isnt stopping...
poking snowflake
Vy "Snowflake" Baro |
Vy is a little disturbed about all the glee around him, but the thing is evil so it must be vanquished. He makes a stab with his spear
Attack: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 3 + 1 = 21
damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
GM Woran |
The sinspawn rears up on its misshapen legs, ready to tear and bit someone.
random chance: 1d3 ⇒ 3
It goes for Dayo!
bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
claw: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
claw: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
But it doesnt manage to hit the agile Dayo.
Going in for the kill made it tear open its wounds even further, and it collapes on the ground.
You all got it to 0 hit points, so it goes to -1 after full attacking

Justin looks over his notes for a few minutes, waves his paw to shrink Dayo back to normal, then casts another spell to shrink him down further. he sprinkles another dose of blood into the pit
"Yeah yeah rise and serve my evil bidding or something... sheesh. I thought it would take me YEARS to get bored of having minions. "
Reduce person on Dayo. Empirical method activate.
Vy "Snowflake" Baro |
"Maybe it's not the most economic way of asking the gods for help, but evil and sin must be vanquished

Dayo shrinks to normal, and then shrinks to Justin's size.
"Wow! It's like I'm a child again!"
"And you're short"
Stands on tippy paws, and is taller than Dayo if you count the ears. Which he insists on.
''Vitro'' Wizjietroczenon |
"Yes, Oskar's feet are pretty spectacular." he remarks with an almost-straight face.

Oskar looks down at his well-worn boots. "Gee, so sorry I offended yer delicate sensibilities. Given all the crap Nisk drops and spills on the floor in the workroom, if I wore anything lighter I wouldn't have feet anymore..."

Oskar shakes his head. "Nah, I like these," and pucntuates this point by lashing out and kicking the sinspawn in the chest, catching it in the ribs with the heavy boot.
With Vy's bless spell.
Unarmed Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 7 + 1 = 27
Unarmed Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
So close. Nothing would've driven the point home like a crit.
