I've been thinking about it, but since you arent mind readers (I often forget that my inner monologue is just that, inner), lets think out loud.
I figured if someone cant post for a longer time, its easier to bot someone. Statblocks are in profiles, so while I wont bot someones character progression (no, no sudden strange relationships for your character after your holliday ;) ), it will allow participation in combat, social interactions or contributing knowledge.
So for example, if someone goes on holliday for a week, I can bot their actions untill they are back.
For the current situation, I think a simple delay suffices. Its more a matter of not being able to make a post for a day, and we are not so pressed that a simple delay will cause the fight to be lost.
I understand that its not fun being delayed, but that is the dilemma I face as a GM. Without relative fast action, combat in play by post, in its very nature, becomes tedious fast.
Once the flow is out of combat, you end up waiting more and more, and that can really kill the motivation to check and/or post.
Of course, I swear I did not bribe the diceroller in favor of the goblins... I dont know who programmed it, but whomever it was, they must have had a soft spot for the critters. Because, damn, you all are having a disproportionate amount of bad luck.

Yeah, the weekend just caught me at a bad time. Sorry for the delay, and I've got no objection to having been delayed. I got no problem with dear old Bot Buddy throwing punches in Oskar's name if it really holds things up.
As far as calendar items of note, I will be away for a week taking my family to Disney World, 13-20 July. Bot the hell out of me for that week. :)
I also suspect my other PBP char is taking all my dice luck...

I'm a fan of the 24 hour bot rule. It keeps things moving so they don't bog down too much.
I have no idea how you walked and how it provoked, if you walked around the back of the cart it only should provoke from the singing goblin? If you moved at the top of the cart it only should provoke from red? Every goblin that can, will make an attack of opportunity, they are dumb after all. Let me know and I'll post the attacks of opportunity as soon as possible.
Top of the cart. I must have only provoked from Red.
And to double-check: my Knowledge Local check result is that big ugly is a special kind of goblin bard with a really buffing song?

I had it at a rough 24 hours in my head, but lets stick with it. If someone doesnt post in 24 hours (more or less, I sleep in when I can ;) ), I will either delay or bot, depending on the circumstance. Delay if it can wait, bot if a lot is riding on the action.
For Rataji, yes, that ugly goblin must be some kind of bard. You're all from varisia, where goblin are a local menace, so I did not call for a knowledge check. Everyone learns a bit about goblins as a child.
Also, while this bard-goblin looks like they are buffing them, they seem sligtly less competent then the other goblins? Or maybe just a little less worked up on a frenzy. Its hard to tell with goblins.

It's okay! I applied the two hp damage to the total in Taj's header. While it would have been nice to take down another goblin, the bad guys have to win too, sometimes! At least I removed one of the little threats.
Taj

I know. Fast isn't he? I was going to chase after him, but I want to see if Oskar can catch and grapple him first. Or you can see if my guy needs stabilization. I *think* I knocked him out. And I tried not to kill him! Did you see that, Justin?
BigNorseWolf |
BigNorseWolf, how did you get to 30ft. movement on Justin? Ratfolk have a base speed of 20ft. From the monster codex there is the trait Surface Sprinter which gives you 30, but it trades out Darkvision.
Whoops, thought they were 30. I'll slow him down next time.
Rataji the Resourceful |
If you're hailing from Averaka, a Danish-based Orcish is fun! Though Skald is probably also nordic in style. Do you want to stick with Russian for orc, and Danish for Skald?

Ah, I tought you wanted to take the trait but forgot to change the darkvision in the statblock.
It explains why I was puzzeled at some of your movement. Guess you were just scared the first few rounds and ran faster ;)Oskar Dragenaev |
GM, a question for you.
The UE errata torpedoed my plans for Oskar a little bit. Bye-bye, brawling armor, I can't say you're worth a +3. So I no longer have a very strong reason to go unarmed as opposed to using a weapon. What I'd like to do is get a cestus as a weapon, and switch my Weapon Focus feat from Unarmed to Cestus. Are you amenable to Oskar making that change?

+2 seems like a fair suggestion for a strength based brawler...I had the chance to invest a lot of time in my calculations since I play something like this in PFS... here is the current unfixed version (also includes Jingasa)

Rataji picks up the slightly damp coin pouch and looks at Justin with a raised eyebrow. "In your mouth, seriously? Do you know where that coin purse has been?"
Oskar Dragenaev |
4 people marked this as a favorite. |
(Oskar spits out coin purse, shrugs.)
"I saw him doin' it, thought it was a thing we're doin'. Just so I'm clear, it's not, then?"
Justin Norvegicus |
Rataji picks up the slightly damp coin pouch and looks at Justin with a raised eyebrow. "In your mouth, seriously? Do you know where that coin purse has been?"
I prestidigitated it first. And threw in a bar of olive oil soap.
Rataji the Resourceful |
Rataji looks from Justin to Oskar and back again. "Eeeew!" Then she turns to Justin with a nauseated look.. "Wait a minute! I bought soap from you!" She examines her soap for teethmarks, and turns to her brother. "Vy! Why do boys do this stuff?"
