Kwinten is joining us too for Everflame (he needs to get more characters out of the low lvl rut). So we'll have a party of 5.
Feel free to dot in on the discussion thread. If you have multiple options, you can list them there and we can start building a party.
Its dinner time now. Ill update Rise after food. Because food.
Guys, I'm not bossing everyone around too much with battlefield positions am I? I like to keep a bit of tempo in but I'll lay off if I'm being annoying.
Brawler 3 (Mutagenic Mauler) HP 26/28 | Init +5 | AC 20 (T 15 FF 16) | CMD 22 (grapple 27, trip 24, BR 23) | F +6 R +8 W +4 | Per +7 (+1 vs. giants), SM +6 | Darkvision | Effects:
No, in this phase of things, I feel like it's fine, keeps things moving. As long as it's back to everyone-in-their-own-driver-seat once initiative drops, right?
I just figured it was a character trait of a young, Wis 07 elf.
OOC we're all wanting things to move along quickly just the same.
I have noticed an odd phenomenon from other PbPs, though, including one I'm in currently, where players and sometimes GMs interpret the passage of real life time to be observable in game.
So, like, the GM of my other PbP has NPCs react with agitation that people are just "standing around staring at each other" while the players are posting an OOC conversation with each other.
Yeah, I'm not going to run your combats for you, no worries :)
But I try to set people up so we'll be in a convenient formation when they start. Clear firing lines, room to 5ft step into a flurry, starting in cover and all that.
Something to play with when we're in a slightly roomier dungeon: I have the Open/Close cantrip. It's wonderful for doors we suspect are trapped, or contain enemies waiting in ambush behind them.
I appreciated it because I was at work for the past 9 hours, so I wasn't always able to keep right on top of checking the map end this thread. So that worked out well for me, anyway.
Speaking of 5ft steps, I feel like I should point out that since I took it outslug style as my feat for this level, I plan on taking those steps very often. Just be aware of that if it looks like I'm aimlessly shuffling around the fight. :-)
And by east you mean all the way down the small hallway to the area marked blue? Or some other door? You can mark the door that you want with an arrow to make it more clear.
SNowflake, do you want to be closer to the front? I don't know if you're doing the protect the healer thing but you also multiclassed beatstick so...
Let me explain the way I tend to position people. Maybe other people want something different?
* The primary melee people are positioned to be up front. I try to put Oskar in a position so he has a good chance of 5ft stepping into a flurry position.
* I"m a secondary melee combatant and I now have Precise Shot so I can do more ploinking (acid splash +5 touch/1d3+2 in Point Blank range). I try to put myself down so I have cover but also have a clear line of fire. When in doubt I'll stand back farther but keep the line of fire clear. On hairy battlefields I can raise Shield for extra AC.
* Justin can play with a crossbow but mostly he needs to be safe from immediate melee.
* Vy is our only healer so he tends to end up in a safe spot. I could give him a bit more room to beatstick though, and now that we're through the thorns he's less vulnerable.
This weekend is my first con as a Venture-Captain! I am nervous!
There probably wont be any posts from me from friday to sunday. Possible also not thursday/monday depending on the last minute rush/con crud.
Given the pace of PbP, combined with the length of an AP, and assuming we go until the end, Dayo will probably be the last Pathfinder 1E character I ever play ^_^
