"Sounds cush. What do you say, kid? Want to go hang out at a League Spa for a few days" Q's cybernetic grin is not all that reassuring, his burned flesh making it more disturbing than friendly.

The young man shrugs noncommittally when Hydronaut mentions his unique method of transport but otherwise, agrees to be taken to the facility. Once checked in, he is placed in a comfortable room equipped with a nullifer to cancel out his powers. "He'll be fine here until we can figure out what to do with him," the facility manager assures you. "We'll take good care of him."

Later...at the hidden Justice League Facility...

MINOTAR nods at the facility manager's words.

"Supposition: It will be interesting to see if he can eventually learn to control his powers. If he can, his ability will be one of the more powerful ranked abilities I'm sure. Theoretically, he could even threaten the most powerful of the League with his ability to absorb and manipulate probability."

"Truly a frightening prospect. Fortunately, you stopped him before circumstances worsened and here, he can receive help and learn to control his powers." The manager, an attractive young woman with a badge that reads, "Dr. Katherine Bates," gives you a half-smile.

CONSTRUCT (PL8) Dodge 8, Parry 8, Fortitude 'Immune', Toughness 10, Will 6; Status:

MINOTAR will continue to monitor the young man and his condition when he can: Asking the Doctor to keep him up to date on any major changes.

He will also (given time) begin to visit the young man from time to time since he's a current resident of the facility too, curious to see how the League treats/teaches the young man and see how he is doing emotionally.

Since the situation seems to be wrapped up for the moment, Straightjacket will say his farewells and jump off to resume his life as a student.

"Been nice working with you fellows, but nothing seems to need a beating right now, so I'm just gonna mosey along. If something big happens, I'll show up. "

Male Human PL 8

Once it's decided that the boy will be taken to the JL facility, Ghost teleports away back to his car so he can actually drive into work finally.

At least he'd have a good excuse for why he was late.

QNetic will assist however he can, checking in on the little major disaster when he can, returning to his patrols, but now keeping an eye out for any of the others as well.

He gives his contact information to MINOTAR.

Thoroughly out of his depth, and deeply uneasy around all the science, Nick kept quiet and left at the earliest polite opportunity once the kid was settled.

Two days pass without incident. Things are unusually quiet, perhaps even too quiet. On the second evening, a thunderstorm drenches Grand Junction. It is about midnight when a crack of thunder rocks the town. Then, your signaling devices go off; you are being called to your headquarters!

You head to the nearby mountain cavern that once belonged to the Justice League. Wonder Woman is waiting for you just inside.

"Welcome home," she begins. "We decided that, based on your actions in your first unofficial mission, you deserved better than a hand-me-down headquarters." She turns and leads you into the cave mouth behind her.

The alteration is stunning! Where it once housed only a series of barren caves, it is now home to a computer center, laboratory, garage, living quarters, gymnasium, kitchen, meeting room, and medical center! Several men and women in lab coats move about the facility, greeting you casually as you walk about. Security cameras track your movements through the hallways and public areas.

"It's not much," Wonder Woman says, "But for short notice, we think that it's pretty cozy. Your staff lives on-site, in their own apartments and they will oversee day-to-day operations. Each of your living quarters can be tailored to your personal tastes or needs. There is, of course, an anti-intruder system and a series of teleporters to key locations. Mostly the big cities, and naturally, Grand Junction."

"Well, what do you think?"

CONSTRUCT (PL8) Dodge 8, Parry 8, Fortitude 'Immune', Toughness 10, Will 6; Status:

MINOTAR steps forward and looks at the Amazonian princess with a tilted head.

"Confused Query: Without offense...I must ask...was I inducted into the League? I thought I was in observation only. The fact of my earlier...charge into danger is still processing on a personal level, and these new changes constitutes a major reorganization in my situational awareness systems. Or am I just being placed with these people to monitor my situation more effectively in some manner?"

Male Human PL 8

Looking about, Ghost gives the place a once-over, then says, "It's fairly nice. Should be a good headquarters. Will the Justice League be assigning us missions, or are we just to keep an eye out for trouble?"

Numinous "Nick" Nichols - Posthuman Waterperson Dodge 6, Parry 4, Will 2, Fort 2, Tough 12

Nick gaped at the place, and at Wonder Woman.

"Uh...don't want to be that guy but: Do you know who you are?! This is nuts. My life is nuts. This is really happening, right?"

"This is great!" he says as he plops down into a chair.

Isikos - Tim Simpson - living shadow Dodge 6, Parry 6, Fort 6, Toughness 4p/10e, Will 10

He looks over his shoulder at Ghost, "Trick question. The right answer is both."

Wonder Woman looks at MINOTAR. "Consider this a step-up towards formal introduction into the League. You aren't there yet, but you have passed the first barrier."

Turning to Ghost, she replies, "You will be given assignments on a need-to-know basis, but we also expect you to be reactive. Establish a rotating monitor duty schedule amongst yourselves. We in the League will handle monitoring the world as a whole, but we expect you to keep eyes on North America. We will also contact you to assist as necessary in League affairs.

"If something comes up and you aren't sure, contact us, but we defer to your judgement to determine what you can handle and what you can't. Part of being heroes is handling unknown situations and knowing your own limitations."

She smiles at Nick's admonishment. "Yes, this is really happening," she assures him.

"You should all get to better know one another and learn the limits of one another's abilities. A chain is stronger when the links are all working to the same end. And we'd like you to select a team leader, someone who calls the shots. This should be someone who knows the team and their capabilities, with a willingness to give orders, and with the moral standing to accept responsibility for his or her decisions. But remember that a good leader also listens to the input from his or her team."

"Now, is there anything else I can do or help you with?" she takes an apple from a bowl of fruit on the table and bites into it. "Mmm, feel free to redecorate to suit your personal tastes. We've intentionally kept it somewhat spartan."

CONSTRUCT (PL8) Dodge 8, Parry 8, Fortitude 'Immune', Toughness 10, Will 6; Status:

MINOTAR nods.

"Accepted. I appreciate the chance to prove myself. However, I must still ask, despite what trouble it may cause me, if I decide the League is not for me...Would I be allowed to leave? I'm not even sure if I'm much more than a 'glorified toaster' I think some would say. A hero? I am unsure. I can say that without a doubt, my programming to perform for 'the greatest good of the United States' is still in place and does not seemed compromised. Beyond that I cannot promise anything yet."

Turning to the others he continues with Wonder Woman's points.

"As far as a leader goes, I have some tactical leadership skills, but they are only programming really, never having been used until recently. I would be uncomfortable leading such a group, but would be willing to support whomever here wishes to lead. I can say I have been impressed by all of your abilities and deeds so far."

Sighing audibly, which is strange for a machine that does not breathe, MINTOTAR continues.

"I do not sleep or eat. Unless damaged, I can therefore handle most of the monitoring duty, especially since my physical presence in public could cause distraction or trouble. I would merely ask for at least...6 hours off each day for reflection and contemplation of my future? Besides, it would be nice to see each one of you regularly since I cannot 'blend in' yet with the public."

"Right. Seems like a good plan, all in all. These kids seem alright, and the 'Tarbot is pretty handy as well." he blushes a bit at Hydronaut's fanboy towards WW. Not that he didn't also feel it, but, really, kid?

"I got plenty of free time, so we should probably switch it up, Minotar. Probably a good idea that the others spend a few hours a day on the monitors too, though. They should be used to their workings. Plus, both of us have systems that could become compromised under the higher levels of technical genius."

"Anyhoo, I go by QNetic in case any of you didn't catch it during the prelims, but you can call me Wil."

"I'm no leader. I'm crazy. " Straightjacket says while spinning his chair in a circle.

"Don't think I'm leader material either," Nick said. "My last set of choices kind of almost led to a nuclear spill? With a bomb. The bomb would have caused the spill, not been the nuclear- Anyway: not my fault; I was brainwashed by a nerd."

Male Human PL 8

Ghost smiles at Minotar's offer to handle monitor duty nearly all the time. "The offer of near constant monitor duty is appreciated, but I think we could probably do better than 6 hours off a day. Besides, we'll probably need to do a bit of training that would take away from your time spent contemplating. We should probably start with a rundown of everyone's capabilities - plus names, I think. My name is Ghost. I can turn invisible, phase through solid objects, and teleport anywhere within a short range. I cannot expand these benefits to others, although I'm working on it."

QNetic taps his forehead. "Right, capabilities. Well, my brain chemistry has been significantly altered by an accident that also did major damage to my body. With a bit of help, I've managed to 'Six Million Dollar Man' myself. Faster, stronger, tougher. System limitations keep me from doing all of it at once, as I've got to balance energy output. My brain's been cranked up to 11, and given a moment to concentrate, I can do a couple million calculations per second. Which is how I was able to turn my kinetic blaster into a kinetic negation field and slow the plane's descent. Oh, and I'm slightly rich. From my understanding of Batman, that's a super power now."

Hesitant to explain his known deficiencies in public, MINOTAR knew leaving himself out of the discussion will prevent synergy within the group.

"My offical designation is Project: MINOTAR. Mechanized Intelligent Non-Organic Tactical Assault Robot. You can simply call me MINOTAR. I am a unique prototype. I was built to be the basis of a new combat chassis for the US military. Basically an autonomous fire and forget soldier. My brain is a copy of a military tactical computer AI and database...a non-sentient of one of course."

He holds his hands out to show his impressive bulk.

"I'm strong and tough. My designer evidently thought it would be fun to incorporate design specifics of my 'namesake' hence my slightly deformed limbs and 'horns.' My armored shell is a copy of a Lex Corp Metallo alloy, although I have already detected deficiencies in the design comparatively to the original formula. I can leap with the aid of hidden jump jets in my back and feet, a good distance, but this process is ...excessive. Normal vehicles are often a quicker choice for me. My chassis can basically heal itself slowly due to my nano-repair capabilities, but normal repairs might speed such things up. My basic design was to be improved with weaponry once leaving the prototype stage."

He then points to his odd-looking geometrical shaped horns.

"Currently, I also have the capability to transmit and receive radio signals of various types. Although I was not programmed/upgraded yet with combat filters or encryption yet. I do have standard combat night-vision as well as local motion and seismic sensors (basically danger-sense). If I can find a ranged weapon or something to throw, I have a basic targeting computer built in to aid my shots. I have programming for piloting most basic vehicles and using most technological equipment, and as long as I am functioning properly, I do not forget anything I see or hear."

Come on son, speak up. This is the big leagues.

"Well other than being a bit off from hearing voices" and he glares over at his dad.
"I'm very resistant to damage, quite strong and can do a mean impersonation of Gumby. "

Numinous "Nick" Nichols - Posthuman Waterperson Dodge 6, Parry 4, Will 2, Fort 2, Tough 12

"Yeah ok, I'm Nick," Nick waved and dropped back into skin. He was an athletic twenty-year-old with a short coif of wavy blue hair and striking blue eyes that appeared to have actual waves in them. "Radiation from the nuclear power plant that that nerd brainwashed me into trying to bomb. Commune kid. It says Numinous on my driver's license. Two Moms. Mom Number One got a job in Coast City so we moved. The commune thing didn't go there so I joined the swim team. Turned out I was natural. Got into UC-Coast City. My tutor fried my brain for the bombing thing."

"Turns out me, water, and radiation makes a big puddle. I actually was a puddle full time until I got better control. When stuff hits me, I still splash. I dive into water, I can swim out of any other water around. It's...I call it the Blue. It's kinda spiritual? I can feel the flow, you know?"

He turned back to water, his hair turning into a row of short fins running down his head and spin. His hands and feet were webbed. Gill slits rode on his neck. "When I'm this way I get stuff wet like you guys would get it warm. And I can put water inside your lungs by touching you. Only if I want to. It's emergencies only because someone could get real hurt. And I can blow out a pretty good wave if I have to. Three Little Pigs style."

"Kind of sucks sometimes, but everything happens for a reason."

Isikos - Tim Simpson - living shadow Dodge 6, Parry 6, Fort 6, Toughness 4p/10e, Will 10

"Hi, My name is Isikos and as you can see, I'm a shadow. I'm pretty sneaky, and I can make things darker to be sneakier. I'm sort of stuck on walls and surfaces, so I'm not going to be much help if there's a battle in the air. But I can make my edges sharp when I need to. I can move through shadows, It takes a little bit to get there, but I don't have to cover the intervening space."

After listening to the rest of the group introduce themselves, MINOTAR speaks up again.

"I have been contemplating: Who among us has the most competency to lead? I fear most us are too young or just inexperienced. Myself included technically speaking. I'm only 2 and half weeks old in reality."

He waves his hand as if to wipe something away in very human-like gesture.

"Anyway, I would like to put it to a vote among the rest of you. I nominate Mr. Netic to be our interim leader until we decide among ourselves who will lead us permanently. Despite what he terms as 'jokes' he is the smartest, in technical scale, and can possibly even enhance his leadership abilities in ways that we can only imagine. What do the rest of you think? Mr. Netic? Would you consent to lead us?"

"Works for me. "

Male Human PL 8

Ghost greets each as the others introduce themselves and explain their powers, giving a careful eye to Straightjacket. Hears voices? Might need to find out more about that.

"I think maybe we should rotate leaders on a per mission basis, at least for now. I suspect that none of us are used to working together in team-based action, and we'll all face a bit of a learning curve regardless of who's leading us. This lets us see how each other handles leadership responsibilities the best and then we can all make an informed decision. I'm perfectly happy with QNetic stepping up to the plate first."

"While that may sound good on paper, Casper, I think you'll find that it leads to confusion in the field, where it'll likely cause the type of disaster we can't recover from. A good command structure saves lives. Mind, being able to replace someone who's not working out is important too. Why don't we see how I do, and if someone else wants to step up later, we'll cross that bridge before burning it, eh?" QNetic gives his odd smile.

Isikos - Tim Simpson - living shadow Dodge 6, Parry 6, Fort 6, Toughness 4p/10e, Will 10

"Sure, we can give Q-man a shot at it." He's relieved that they didn't propose him for the job. He was just getting used to this without having to worry about other people's lives.

Male Human PL 8

Ghost shrugs. "I was thinking more in terms of giving each person an audition, so to speak, but as I said, I'm fine with you taking the reins. Oh, and don't call me Casper."

"I really don't want any part of leading. He can take my stint. "

Wonder Woman smiles as she listens to the discussion. She seems pleased with the results.

"Right. You're on of them unfriendly type ghosts. Got it." Q smiles. Then, he turns towards the serious. "Sounds like we're in agreement, for now anyway. I'd like you all to give me a schedule of your outside commitments so I can start setting up a duty roster, for monitoring, patrols, and the like. If you have routine patrols of specific neighborhoods, where you have contacts, that sort of thing, I'd like those as well. Might as well coordinate those, find any overlaps or redundancies we can reduce. If you're not already patrolling, get ready to get your beaks wet. I know some of you are still feeling out your capabilities, and we should set up individual and teamwork training schedules too."

Occasionally, I may also be unavailable on a weekend or overnight, but I should have advance notice to inform you of that. I also just moved to Grand Junction a couple of weeks ago, so I haven't established a patrol area here, but I did patrol when I lived in Central City. Just let me know where and when to cover."

Sorry, all. Been incredibly busy. My apologies for the untimely delay.

After Wonder Woman has left, you can begin to settle in. There are living quarters for everyone, though you are under no obligation to remain in the HQ. You can live elsewhere if you so choose.

Outside, the thunder rolls and the lightning flashes. Then proximity alarms begin to sound. Something or someone is entering local airspace. You quickly scan the exterior camera displays and soon spot a meteor, glowing as it streaks through the atmosphere. It lands to the north of town, somewhere near the airport.
