Two large buildings dominate the Swift’s northern half. The northernmost building, just west of a shadowy backstreet called “Miscreant Alley,” is a combination of an apartment complex and factory. To the south, across a street labeled “Debtor’s Lane,” lies another apartment complex, its lower floors a mix of ever-changing shops. To the east is an open-air bazaar dubbed “Convict’s Market,” complete with stalls and a central well, and to the west more dwellings litter the grounds. To the south, across “Beggar’s Lane,” stands the north wall of the central keep. To the keep’s east, and the market’s south, several larger homes reserved for the Swift’s more wealthy criminals exist, and touch lush gardens creating a barrier between these dwellings and the keep’s stone walls. To the south of the keep at the Swift’s southernmost border rests the prison’s largest building—the Greedy Narses. Herein the indoor market, mess hall, Swift chapel, and beggar’s boxes reside. Outside this building stands the gilded statue of the golden lady who stares dispassionately at those who fill the beggar’s boxes with spare coins.

Senach takes his chastisement quietly, although he is annoyed. As they troop out of the office, he says to his companions "I only wanted to know if there was something special about the bell that would help identify it.. I mean, yea.. how many magical bells can there be? But still.. simply being magical may not tell us it is the right bell!"

Rant out of his system, he turns to Vulpina. "It is an honor that you have chosen to reveal your true form, Lady Vulpina. Although there may be others who harbor thoughts of superiority and other trash, I am not one of them."

As Phoebe fills the group in on what she knows, Senach takes it all in. "Thank you for sharing your knowledge. My name is Senach.. it is a pleasure to have you with us this day!"

Approaching the prison, Senach lays a hand upon Nefti's shoulder. "I believe it is time that you gave some thought about your allegiance. The Society has helped you several times over.. as you have helped us as well. It would just be a small step to join our ranks and perhaps have a change of luck. Think on this.. and thank you for your help, once again."
Turning back towards the prison, he thinks on the layout he saw a couple of days ago on his last trip here. "I believe we need to make all haste to the bell, get that over with, and then find the trail of the Derros.. but that is a lot of ground between here and there. Should we cut through the buildings or move through the alleys?"

Thegrou takes the back streets to Debtor's Lane on the way to the Prison. Kazu slowly moves ahead, scouting to make sure the route is clear. Once he has to slam hi back against the wall as down the street a roving patrol moves past. Kazu hears them utter a curse-filled prayer.

Waiting a few moments for silence the Tengu waits his comrades onward. You enter the prison from the northern end and swing around to the south. At the southern entrance you find that the Constabulary has secured the southern end of the prison and has killed and captured a small handful of cultists.

Nearby, a handful of ragged and injured cultists are in manacles and seated against the wall. A cleric tends to wounded constables. The uninjured constables are relieved to see you and let you into the prison without question, though with words of encouragement.

Two features dominate Swift Prison’s interior: the Greedy
Narses and the prison’s main keep. The Greedy Narses is a large wooden building on the southern border of Swift Prison through which all prisoners or visitors must pass to reach the keep. The many cells lining this building’s southern facade serve as “beggar’s boxes” that provide a chance for the Swift’s unskilled residents to earn some coin. Other than the decorated front, and the gilded statue in the square, this building is quite plain. The keep is three stories tall.

Many market stalls lie shattered across the paved floor. Wood splinters and papers litter the room.

Vulpina raises an eyebrow... of sorts. It's hard to tell if kitsunes have eyebrows, per se, but the expression is clear. "I wasn't aware there were places where the Lady Shelyn is not celebrated, aside from perhaps Cheliax."

She stays at the flank of the group, so that she does not have to shoot "through" the party, if she finds shooting necessary. As the cultists pass by, Vulpina lines up a shot, but as they leave Kazu alone, she keeps the bullet in the barrel, for now.

"Shall we check these side rooms, then, or go straight ahead?" she asks the group.

She points out what she sees about the bell as well as the knife handles.

It would be fun to test the bell.

"Because when the city's under siege, what we really need is to be more docile!" barks Vulpina from across the hall.

"I'm not listening anymore!" she chimes, wondering what on Golarion a "Scooby Snack" might be.

She kinda hopes it's chicken.

Senach calls over his shoulder to the others. "We may have trouble here! But.. its odd..!"

As the others gather around, he points out the handles missing the knife blades for the others to see.

"Someone somehow removed the handles from the knives, then killed the cooks.. you would think that would take long enough for it to be noticed and stopped.."

When the team is finished, Senach moves back to the main entry and turns to the opening in the north, ready to move deeper into the complex.

Senach uncovers a hastily written note underneath one of the bodies as well.

I write in haste. Whoever finds this be warned, the derro took us all! Look for discarded paper to follow my path. They are herding the prisoners into the lower cells in Stavian’s Fair. They have a...

Senach moves to investigate further north to find an entrance to the lower cells. He finds the prison yard. Rusted, iron flakes dust the ground around a series of thick gates. Within the keep’s yard, four derro corpses surround an insectile quadruped. Countless barbed crossbow bolts penetrate the strange beast’s hide, and where its head should be, thick ichors moisten the ground around two separated feathered antennae.

The derros used a rust monster to penetrate Swift Prison’s iron barriers, but once the rust monster ran out of food, it hungrily turned on its derro handlers. Dozens of rats feed on the dead and scurry about the yard.
