Mors Buolgun |
Mors barks a laugh at Thadd's grave robbery comment, "Not like they're usin' it anymore." Though he doesn't take the loot, either.
More looks at their two options, then shrugs dumbly. ”Might as well keep a closed door at our backs,” he mutters as he shoulders his blade and lumbers up the hallway.

In a small alcove stands a stone staircase that fills the small chamber. Curving up the staircase spiral disappears through the ceiling. The stairs lead up 60 feet to a tiny chamber behind a secret door. opening the secret door reveals the upper, active level of the Gosmouth Ossuary. It seems this is how the bodies are disappearing from the Ossuary unnoticed.
Heading back down and continuing north the chamber begins to have an acrid stench of chemicals and reagents that fill the chamber. The walls are marred by strange stains and scorch marks. Several tables are scattered all about the room, covered in a bewildering plethora of glassware, alembics, retorts, tubes, simmering cauldrons and smoking beakers full of bright colored liquids. Scattered pages of written notes in a crabbed hand lie strewn about the chamber. A large alcove in the northwest corner contains a bookshelf groaning under the weight of heavy, dusty tomes and scrolls.
Three bubbling glass vats stand against the eastern wall, filled with bubbling green fluid. Floating within the vats are three grotesque objects-Putrescent corpses, tubes and wires embedded in their rotting flesh, their skin discolored with decay and chemical stains.
GM Roll: 1d100 ⇒ 8
In the room huddled overa table is a hunchbacked, haggard man in his 30's with blackhair starting to turn gray.
Mr. Marrow bring the vial. Says the man with a snap of his fingers. Damned Priests of Pharasma are sabotaging my efforts. I just know it.
An undead creature shambles over bringing the hunchbacked man his vial, nearly dropping it on the floor.
Turning his head the hunchbacked man notices you. Mr. Marrow get them out of here now!
The undead shuffles towards you as the hunchbacked man drinks a vial.
Mors Buolgun |
Mors drops his loot bag and pulls one of his own vials as he readies his blade.
"We're here for you, bub. And we're only gettin' out with you with us." He glowers at the man and his ... pet. "Your choice right now is whether you walk out or we drag yer ass out."
Whats the chances an intimidate check will get him to come willingly? :)

So, initiative?
GM Tyranius |
Yup Initiative
Seeing that the group is refusing to leave the hunchbacked man steps on a plate causing the glass on one of the vats to explode outward sending water and wires all over the floor.
Another undead creature begins to shamble out of the broken glass in a flood of pungent alchemical smells.
Mors attempts to intimidate him but the haggard man shrugs him off.
Mors and Thaddeus both know that the vat undead to be alchemical zombie while Mr Marrow is just a normal zombie.
only thing added is channel resistance and it's skin looks a little tougher for the alchemical zombie. Alchemical Zombie is marked as blue.

"Huh. He's controlling those corpses through alchemy. Interesting..." Thaddeus grabs his morningstar and a vial from his bandolier, waiting for the way to clear.
Retrieve weapon and Enlarge Person extract.
GM Tyranius |
Ugh. It ate my post...
Thaddeus retrieves his weapon and extract looking for a good opportunity to use it.
Zakon rushes into the room and slashes his dueling sword at Mr. Marrow. The sword tears away a large swath of rotting flesh with it.
Svilennius moves around the corner and hurls a vial in between Mors and Mr. Marrow.

Need a separate Dc 14 Fort save or you are staggered for 1 round
The vial breaks in a blinding aura as frost and ice cover the corridor.
Mr. Marrow Reflex save DC 14: 1d20 ⇒ 15
The majority of the frost burns at Mr. Marrow's rotting skin but doesn't seem to slow him in the least.
The pair of zombies swarm around Zakon's living flesh as they slam their bodies into him.

Mors is able to block the majority of the blast with his armor. He slams his Bastard sword into Mr. Marrow cleaving the frozen zombie in two separate halves.
Zakon is not so lucky as he takes the full force of the blast. His skin quickly freezes, staggering him and dropping him to the ground. His blood freezes as it leaves his body stopping him from bleeding out further.

And Thaddeus as it is a new round :)
Thaddeus Silverhorn |
Should I go ahead, then?
Carson Williams |
I'm here! :) Just busy this weekend (usually am in most cases).
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Carson moves up, keeping up an acumen to stay on the man who threw the bad things. "I'll hold onto Mr. Nasty here, take care of Zak!"
Move action to use Martial Flexibility for the Step Up feat. Move action to be adjacent to Svillenius. Eating an AoO from blue zombie. If Svillenius takes a 5' step, Carson will use Step Up to follow and if he still tries to throw something or do something that provokes, he'll make an AoO to disarm (no AoO) the potions/vial/weapon or just stab if it's something else.
AoO Disarm @ Svillenius CMD: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 2 = 15Subtract 2 if it is not a disarm and just an attack
Damage on hit if not a disarm: 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Also using Combat Expertise, AC is 19, CMD is 16. No CE penalty ala Threatening Defender trait.
Thaddeus Silverhorn |
Thaddeus downs the contents of his vial, rushing into the room as his body begins to enlarge.
Drink extract of Enlarge Person, move into room (provoking AOO).
Enlarged, Reach = 10'

GM Tyranius |
Carson moves closer into the room as the little halfling charges straight at Svilennius. The vat zombie catches a bit of movement out of the corner of his eye, or what is left of his eye, and slams a meaty fist at Carson.
AoO vs Carson AC 19: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
The Zombie slams a fist into the side of Carson's head making him see stars.
Drinking his extract Thaddeus grows to twice his size. Luckily the zombie was too busy with Carson that he paid little mind to Thaddeus.
Svillenius steps back with Carson following right behind him.
The hunchbacked man draws a vial from his belt and drinks it. As he begins drinking it Carson attempts to rip it out of his hands but the zombie's fist is still causing his head to ache. Thaddeus thrusts his spear at Svilennius but it just scrapes across the alchemist's leather.
Svilennius' body begins to quickly contort and bulge in odd places as the sounds of bone snapping and muscle stretching are heard throughout the chamber. His body soon relaxes but the man now looks considerabley stronger.
turning the zombie slams it's entire body at Thaddeus.

Carson takes the blow in stride, but frowns when his clawed weapon misses the vial. "Let's see you go two for two there, buddy boy!"
Carson readies his tiger's claw, waiting for a moment to strike.
Readied action against Svilennius, will try to disarm him if he makes an attack or drink another vial.
Disarm @ Svilennius: 1d20 + 4 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 4 + 2 + 2 = 21 Subtract two if not a slender bladed weapon
Thaddeus Silverhorn |
note: I'm not using my spear (dropped it a few actions ago.) I have my morningstar. The attack missed, but if there had been damage, it would be B/P for DR purposes.
Thaddeus shifts his stance and brings his now-massive morningstar down on the swollen Svillenius.

@Thaddeus- Ah ok gotcha. Your text didn't say which
Carson readies himself again waiting for the alchemist to draw another vial.
Mors steps up finishing the zombie in one stroke as Thaddues' morningstar
begins a direct route for Svilennius' head.
Just at the last moment the hunchbacked man shifts though it still cripples his arm.
Stepping back Svilennius reaches for another flask. Just as he begins to drink it Carson once again attempts to tear it from his hands though with the man's increased strength he is unsuccessful. Drinking the flask the hunchbacked man quickly joins Thaddeus' size as he fills the hallway.
You dare come into my laboratory!
After his size grows he draws a spear from his back.

Mors Buolgun |
"Thanks, buddy. Seems I'm just gonna keep owin' ya." Mors grunts with obvious relief. Then he struggles to his feet and—splitting the charges between his wand and Thaddeus's—gets the team back to fighting shape.
Take whatever charges of CLW you need to be ready to finish our circuit, and Thadd and Mors will split the charges between our wands.
Then Mors lumbers over to the fallen man to have a closer look. "Ya know what really sucks? Now I gotta haul his dead ass outta here."
Anything useful on the body? Taking 20 on Perception for a 22, as well as using Detect Magic to locate the magical goodies.
Zakon Hellborn |
Zakon pulls himself up using his sword as a crutch. Mors' healing almost completely rejuvenates him. He brushes the bloodstained hair out of his eyes.
"Five times I've blacked out in this accursed place. Thanks to you I am still alive. I will spend significant time retraining my body to face stiffer challenges as it appears I don't have the constitution for such battles."
He also casts Detect Magic and scans for hidden valuables.

Mors Buolgun |
You're certainly welcome, but to use the available resources most effectively, let's use one of these Potions of CLW we found on the dead alchemist for that heal, Zakon. ;P
