Sabrina De'Foe |
Ok lets back up a bit, Sabrina was wounded before we even left, so I recommend we back up and heal then continue this encounter.
I think I am the only one that started this wounded.
Berthold is a cleric he should have cast all of his healing before we rested. if not then I suggest we pause so we can get this straightened out.
man several games I am in are moving so fast I don't even get a chance to offer suggestions. its like I am not permitted to sleep.
GM Toothy |
@Elriel: Indeed we are using 2nd level stats, my bad.
@Sabrina: This time, I'll allow a fix that Bertholdt used his channel energy and his spells to heal you, but only this time. Bertholdt was being botted but as a DM I'd only bot his 'passive' stuff... anything else should have been requested by the players. Also, the current hp of the party was always present at the campaign header so, in the future, please pay attention to it and if it is different from what I thought it should be, please let me know.
GM Toothy |
All hps have being fixed.
As another matter, we were getting a bit steam but it looks like we are losing it again. On the recruitment thread we agreed about, at least, 1 post/day during weekdays and then 1 post/weekend.
The only one really committing to this agreement is Elriel. Back on the recruitment thread I said I'd be botting those not present but it only works occasionally... if I have to frequently bot you, what is the fun?
This rate of 1 post/day is especially important during combats and as you might have already noticed, this AP is heavy on combat. So I'd like to ask you if you could really commit to our former schedule.
Arrika Telryn Neverrun |
Sorry about that...I've had some craziness going on with work lately, and the days have started running together in my head. I'm committed to a post a day...I just have to remember when the days are. ;)
Arrika Telryn Neverrun |
Real sorry for posting sluggishness the last couple of days, everyone - I had some work stuff, some personal stuff, and some weird medical stuff all converge over the last couple of days, and I'm as unhappy about it as you. ;) I'll be posted by morning.
I'm hoping the unpleasantness is done, but if I miss a post the next few days, that's why. I'm still excited about the game - sorry a CR12 Real Life Circumstance reared its ugly head! And wouldn't you know it, my +3 reality-bane bastard sword was at the enchanter's.
GM Toothy |
Right, not sure how I forget about it but now we have a Loot sheet!
I linked it to the top of the campaign thread as well as to my own alias.
I allocated a couple items according to the interest each one of you showed to them or according to RP, like Arrika receiving the bag with the potions or when she picked the old spellbook to read... many other items are still unclaimed.
There is a sheet for general loot and also one for each PC that tracks your current items as well as your total carried weight and encumbrance. I made an 'on person' and a 'backpack' list for each of you, if not many would be on medium encumbrance... for this I'm assuming at the beginning of each combat you are dropping your 'backpack'.
Please, take a look at the Loot sheet and see if any of those items are of your interest and type your name in front of it and I'll move it to your sheet afterwards. Not every item need to be taken and could be left behind (like the glaives from the dead cultists... do you need them?).
After each situation where new loot is added, I'll post here on the discussion thread and if no one takes it, I'll assume you left it behind.
EDIT: Also, remember, I'll only post the items that you have searched for/found!
Sabrina De'Foe |
hello all and especially you GM toothy, wanted to apologize for my absence. Work has been a real killer these past couple of days and I am working night shift 10-12 hours six night a week.
these past two days (or is it nights?) all I been able to do is eat, sleep, go to work, and occasionally find time to squeeze a post or a read in now and then.
GM Toothy |
Right guys, I noticed I screwed up a thing... I forgot that Arrika had cast mage armor on Kelumarion! To my defense, I think she also forgot...
Nevertheless, with mage armor on him, the last two attacks against him would have missed, bringing him back to 16/20 hp. This is easy fixable with a 'divine holy light' curing him. Although, not being critical also means that he would have hit the mongrel last round, so it would be down and not attacked Elriel (another holy light?). This also means that Elriel did not attacked the mongrel now...
To avoid going back, Elriel and Kelumarion will be 'misteriously' healed by the correct amount at the end of turn and the next attack against Hosilla will deal an additional 5 dmg, the amount that Elriel would have caused with his first attack this round.
Fair enough?
Sabrina De'Foe |
i am good no matter what especially if it negates the hit that took ma down
Arrika Telryn Neverrun |
Sabrina's the only chance of having any more, unless one of these guys has a cure light wounds wand in their pocket. Neither me nor Elriel has any built-in healing resources.
GM Toothy |
Guys... take a look at the Loot sheet... among you, you have 10 CLW potions even if 2 are unidentified...
There are also quite a few other items that no one claimed, like an unidentified cloak of resistance.

I have a cure light wounds potion on my character sheet but I don't see it in the loot sheet. Did I make a mistake?
And it looks like Arrika's got 'everything'. Share some, girl! :)
GM Toothy |
Well, you used a potion after the first fight, right? So unless you had two of them, you are out.
As I said before, I allocated the loot accordingly the players showed interest, like Arrika grabbed the sack with the potions back in Neathholm.
GM Toothy |
Oh, on my last post I mentioned that Elriel would also get a +5 to the checks... it was a mistake! Bertholdt should be the one to get the bonus and not Elriel , since he is the only foreigner!
About the potions, we had already distributed them, with the exception of those received from the Chief.
Also, there is a lot of 'unclaimed loot' so I'll allocate them for you... feel free to change anything.
Arrika
bejeweled book of prayers to Baphomet (unappraised)
cloak of resistance (unidentified)
coins (8pp, 179gp, 90sp)
light crossbow with 20 bolts
marble statue (unappraised)
potion of cloak of shade
tanglefoot bag
Bertholdt
dagger
light crossbow with 15 bolts
unholy symbol of Baphomet
wand of spiritual weapon (7 charges)
Elriel
alchemist's fire [2]
lockbox key
potion of invisibility
Sabrina
antitoxin
light crossbow with 15 bolts
potion of cure moderate wounds
potion of remove fear
This also leaves a couple 'useless' loot behind, unless you wish to haul them to try to sell:
glaive [2]
spiked gauntlet [2]
chain shirt [3]
mwk glaive
mwk studded leather armor
Unless you say so, I'll assume you left these stuff behind, and once you agree with the loot distribution, please right it in your sheet! I'll also keep an updated list of general and individual loot in the Loot sheet just in case.
Arrika Telryn Neverrun |
I think the masterwork glaive and masterwork studded leather armor would be worth taking back just for the money they'd bring, and maybe the ordinary chain shirts, too, unless they're too obviously cultish and thus difficult to sell. Although maybe we should grab them on the way back - I'm already well into medium load when I'm carrying the backpack. Otherwise I'm good with the loot distribution - I'm assuming the book of prayers and the statue are coming with me until they can be sold and the money divvied up.
Sabrina De'Foe |
ok that sounds good for Sabrina.
about the otehr stuff to sell, I actually recommend, (I don't know if this was mentioned IC though) letting the Mongrelmen have that stuff. If they are to battle along side of us giving them some good equipment may go a long way to foster a good relationship.
besides that better weapons and armor ain't bad either.
Sabrina De'Foe |
to those interested.
In Sabrina's profile I have a timeline of the crusades from Sabrina's birth to present.
it is from official source books and the italics parts are additional info from the De'Foe family history.
I updated it with the information from gameplay as well as adding Yaniel to the family tree link.
GM Toothy |
Ok, I allocated the loot to everyone and even gave the two scrolls to Bertholdt and the pouch with the gems and the beautiful sword case to Arrika.
Any decision in what to do with the remaining loot? We can sell it as Arrika suggested or give them to the mongrels as Sabrina suggested...

We players are a lazy bunch so the GM must take control. Thanks Toothy. :)
I say we sell everything that isn't claimed and either divvy up the funds or keep them all in one big fund; I prefer the second option myself as it helps to balance out wealth in the long term.
If the current loot is too bulky then let's leave it to the mongrels.
Arrika Telryn Neverrun |
I second Elriel - leave bulky, not-quite-as-valuable things with the mongrels (and possibly even a masterwork piece or two for the Chief), carry the valuables with us to Kenabres to sell. I'm fine with keeping gold in a fund if people want to, but more accustomed to money being divvied up when it's received (with the understanding that I'm always willing to help people out when it's needed).
Sabrina De'Foe |
I suggest most weapons and armor go to Mongrelmen, gems, jewelry and coin we keep. as well as useful magic items.
We should keep most magic items anyway.
also on a side note I created a Pintrest board for this game it is set to private so in order for you see it I need your e-mail address so I can invite you. once you are in you can view and even add pictures to the board.
Adds some nice visual aids and a quick way to access them in the future.
You can PM me your e-mail and I will send the invite.
you can also e-mail me --- edwardsobel@comcast.net if you prefer.
Fabian Benavente |
FYI, I had to change a couple things a bit, since it was unlikely that Sabrina would cast her heirloom blade aside so I thought about this little shenanigan!
Good save. Pure GMing skills. :)
Reminds when a certain vrock squeezed the heart of a paladin and bathed the battlefield in a white, holy light... :)
Game on!
Dreaming Warforged |
Hi guys,
I’ve decided to retire from PbP gaming and will move away from the boards over the next few days. I started PbP in 2008. Over those years, I’ve met and played with amazing GMs and players. I’m grateful for all the things I’ve learned playing with them.
I’m sorry for the disruptions my sudden leaving causes
Happy gaming,
DW
(This message is posted in all my current games.)
GM Toothy |
Good luck in your future hobbies, DW!
Now, for the rest of the players, I'll look for another player, hopefully quickly. Until there, I'll DMPC Bertholdt, since the other player would only join us after we leave the underground I think.
Elriel |

Toothy, can you link this to the campaign page?
Arrika Telryn Neverrun |
Ooh, love me some Pathfinder Pinterest boards! :D (Have several of my own, actually, if anyone wants a look - they're getting fairly extensive.) My email address is amanda.brooks.815@gmail.com.
Rukzha Kerzuk |
I heard someone could use an intelligent healer. I've got one that could use some help against the demons that attacked her home. Especially the nasty fire ones, shudder. If only I could learn more about the demons I'm sure we could find the right spell or power to combat them.
GM Toothy |
Rukzha is the new player that will take Bertholdt's place. She will not be so heavily focused on healing like Bertholdt was but the amount of knowledge she would bring on is a quite good trade!
Welcome, Rukzha! I hope we all enjoy this game even more!
Elriel |

Welcome to our little game!
Toothy: do we meet this 'beautiful lady' down below or after we get to Kenabres' surface?
Rukzha Kerzuk |
Thank you for having me.
Who knows what you'll find if you look around? ;)
Rukzha is obviously quite a different character than Bertholt. She's not going to help out much in melee like he was, but hopefully her spells and hexes will more than make up for it. With three other characters going toe to toe with the enemies I don't think that'll be too much of a problem, in fact it might fit better that she focuses on hexing and bespelling the enemies to hinder them from hurting the party.
Rukzha Kerzuk |
Does anyone have any suggestions for Rukzha or things they would like to see changed? Now's the time to mention them before she gets into things.
Sabrina De'Foe |
With Sabrina's current luck, you may want to really load up on the healing. She spends the same number of rounds dying as she does fighting.
should we update our own sections of the loot sheet or leave that for ypou?
GM Toothy |
@Sabrina: The Loot sheet is for your reference only. I'll keep it updated.
@Rukzha: Not sure if you noticed it but you are UP to post. Since you are new to the game, I'll tell you about the spoilers.
Everyone is able to see whatever spoiler they want with the exception of Skill checks you failed and those labeled 'GM Rolls'. The spoilers labeled 'Initiative', 'Combat Rolls', and 'Rounds' are for you to see, especially the last two, which summarizes who is UP to post and what happened to you.
Rukzha Kerzuk |
I thought I was unconscious?
GM Toothy |
A couple seconds later Elriel and Sabrina here a curse above them and in a fraction of seconds Bertholdt dives into the shallow water, hitting his head into the hard rock... he is a bit dazed is still alive. The noise and commotion wakes the girl and something else: two long, lean fishes with muscular bodies and heads with long jaws filled with sharp teeth.
Rukzha Kerzuk |
Oups, I missed that, so sorry...
Elriel |
Fine chainshirt over simple tunic, leaving most of hs arms bare. Thick cloth pants in greens and browns with soft leather boots. Silvery-white mane of hair and usually two shortsorwds in his hands.
GM Toothy |
Propose Item Allocation:
Arrika
scroll of cause fear [2]
scroll of comprehend languages [2]
unholy water [2]
coins (20 gp)
Bertholdt
unholy symbol of Baphomet
unholy symbol of Deskari
Remaining unwanted loot
Elriel
potion of cure light wounds <- As he stated IC.
dagger [2]
Sabrina
potion of cure light wounds
Now that Rukzha is around, feel free to redistribute some items, like CLW potions and the scrolls.
Rukzha Kerzuk |
I'm going to try to play Rukzha's low charisma as her being rather sarcastic as I feel it fits greatly with her high intelligence. Hopefully that won't lead to you guys leaving her alone down here...
Does Rukzha know about any of you from before? Do any of the rest of you know about the Order of Heralds? They are a known force in Mendev, so it shouldn't be too hard to figure out, even if you haven't heard about her specifically.
GM Toothy |
I think it is fair to assume that Arrika and Bertholdt knows you and vice versa... The familiarity is another matter though.
Rukzha Kerzuk |
I noticed most people haven't put their basic statistics under their aliases. I find that it makes things much easier to keep track of (in addition to making things easier for GM Toothy).
How does the wounds thing we are using work? I've never used it before. Can Rukzha see how damaged people look?
Would it be ok if I changed one of my prepared spells to cure light wounds, or is it too late already?
