During the battle Edward caught sight of the small Domovoi. He was obviously shaken at the animation of the two ice sculptures. Seeing their defeat he poked his head out from behind Nadya.

While the hero's fell into their after battle recovery routines Hatch was recovering from his fear by reaching out and quickly touching the shattered sculptures.

Edward retrieves the trusty mug from his pack, and picks up 2 of the long teeth from the ice dragons.

Walking towards Nadya and Hatch Edward places the teeth in the mug.You know outside of Irrisen there are some cultures that believe if you drink the enemies blood you become stronger. Edward was talking to everyone, but he had Hatch's undivided attention.

Ali and Davosh caught on to what Edward was doing, not sure who was first, but Ali was the first to act. She used her mystical energy to heat the mug melting the long teeth. Davosh gave a short cackle and sprinkled something in the mug I hope that was tea leaves.

We only have one place in this tower remaining. We need to vanquish the evil that resides here. Come now drink of our fallen enemy, bolster your courage, swing the odds in our favor, and may Apsu bless us victorious.

With that each of us takes a sip, including Nadya and Hatch with the smallest passing it to the very imposing figure of Vojtek who downs the rest of the cup. Edward catches Nadya's eyes, and then looks down at Hatch with a pleading look. She nods in understanding.

Hatch darling, our friends have proved themselves very resourceful and strong. Please help them with what they need, then you will not have to fear that room anymore. Nadya implores.

Yes Hatch, your help has been impressive, we couldn't have done it without you, but this is the final step we have to take here. We need to get to that final area, and I hope that there is some way we can all go at the same time. Will you help us once again?

Nicely done!

Edward and Ali together work through Hatch's apprehension, and when Nady agrees to stay put with the domovoi, he at last relents.

As everyone crowds together on the crystal, Hatch reluctantly triggers the key and the party teleports to...

Will have an update later today/tonight.

Not quite realizing that Edward is simply making a ploy for Hatch, the Varisian youth watches with rapt attention as the paladin makes this powerful potion. With Ali's magic, Davosh's ancestral blessing, the palidin's own power, and the "blood" of their enemies. He nudges Vojtek to make sure he is paying attention.
Kappi takes his drink of the magical brew with great reverence. He takes a moment and he believes he starts to feel its effect. He kinda smiles stupidly at Vojtek who also seemed to enjoy the strange brew.

The rogue speaks I feel pretty good. Im not, uh, Im not scared at all. I just feel... Feel kind of invincible.

Me too. the barbarian answers I got a very positive attitude about this.

Great, me too. Kappi continues to look very up beat and gets his tools of the trade ready.

A translucent image of a globe hangs suspended in midair, slowly rotating in place, above a summoning circle in the blue-tiled floor of this large chamber. Lines of arcane energy glow across the globe's surface, faintly humming with power as they connect multiple endpoints in a radiant glow bright enough to illuminate the domed ceiling overhead. Many tables and shelves covered in books, maps, and large scrolls line the room's circular walls, and a large ornate mirror hangs between two open windows to the west. The domed ceiling here is about 30 feet high.

Twin ice sculptures of demonic fiends flank a bubbling cauldron just barely visible through an archway leading into a deep alcove in the southern wall. In the entrance to this alcove is what appears to be a common mountain goat, which seems to bleat loudly in surprise at your sudden appearance.

A voice from someone or something you can't see echoes through the spacious room. Come, intruders. Meet your doom. Then rhythmic words begin.

Forgot to mention: first square of any movement from where you stand is double as you're all squeezing, but you're in no visible danger as far as you can tell.

Ali casts a spell, then several of her appear to move ahead. She is a 5-foot step away from the goat, which bleats more insistently at her approach. She can see a small bronze cauldron with a sickly green liquid inside, bubbling over a fire. Its dark surface depicts an array of exotic animals, legendary beasts, leering fiends, and hosts of elementals.

She does not see anyone else in the room or in the parts of the alcove she can see.

    Round 1 Edward's action

Edward wonders who would keep a goat in the top of a tower, but then again the friendship between Liska and Davosh might lend a clue. Glad his life was still on the magus from down below.

Vojtek, disable the cauldron knock it over or do what you can. Edward whispers to the barbarian before the fury and rage takes his mind.

He then hurries off to create space in case of area attacks drawing his bow on the way. Looking for the source of the voice on his way.

Neglected to mention: it is decidedly a male voice.

Edward moves over, and sees the same things Ali sees.

The rhythmic words continue, and the goat bleats frantically as the party moves into the room. It does not approach, however...almost as though it was making ready for something...

Remember that everyone but Ali and Edward are squeezing at the moment — no charging.

Then Kappi remembers he just had a drink of a magic potion. He can see things no one else can see. Do things no one else can do.

Heh, yeah: when I GM at table games, I roll oversized dice and do so out in the open, cos sometimes I get on these hot streaks that have the players thinking "he's fudging those rolls...gotta be." Rolling in the open just underscores that I'm not — my dice are just trying to kill them. >:-D

And the joy that the table gets when I roll a 1 is often worth the price of admission all by itself. LOL

LOL

Yes we do the same all dice rolls are in the open, we live and die by them. Yes we do cheer the 1's. Especially in our Star Wars game when he's attacking the character with the "Unexpected Results" talent. That talent "breaks" the weapon with the exception of those w/o power or ammunition.

Haha Mike is funny, and it's Ali's turn in round 3

Since the sorcerer-goat stepped out of sight, Kappi turns his attention to the gorilla storm. He targets the Red. Hefting another of tomahawks he lets fly at it.

Vojtek thinks to himself through his fury, "these filthy brown yetis' stain the ice red just the same..." as he turns to his left with a snarly growl. The gruesome carnage to his right kindled his bloodless and he bites down on the flailing yeti without thought of the consequences or hygeine.

The blade of his greatsword falls again and again, cutting like the cold north wind on a clear night.

    Bite 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14 for 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 damage.

Point of order: Vojtek still needs to make a DC 15 Will save before his attack. Blindness, and all that. :-P

    Dhoh! 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18

Five-star Hound of Tindalos. Er, GM. Whatever. | RoW Encounter Map | A Fistful of Flowers slides

    Ali casts a spell!
    Kappi flings and misses!
Vojtek shakes off the blindness! His bite misses the mark, but his blade drops Blue!
Edward heals Davosh's spellbook, then himself, then swings and hits Red, dropping it!
(Ali can thus retcon her next round action, which would take place after the baddies go.)

The flying man remains 20 feet in the air. He five-foot flies and casts a spell!

    Spellcraft DC 19:

    flurry of snowballs

All creatures in the affected area take 4d6 + 0 ⇒ (6, 1, 2, 5) + 0 = 14 damage! (This finishes Grape Ape — it and all the gorilliyetis vanish when reduced to zero hp — and will include the swarm as well.) DC 16 Refl save for half damage

    GM stuff:

    RP (-2 to saves)
    V 14

    Party up!

Battered and nearly down, the warlock lets the swarm crawl under the door (and I HOPE there are no good guys there.)

In nearly tangible spite the warlock cackles at the enemy. The Evil Eye continues to hex the foe when Davosh again beams his reddened eye at the enemy!

Cackle to extend the hex of -2 to saves as a move action. Standard action to try to strike him again with the burning gaze. Fort DC 18 or take 1d6 ⇒ 6 fire damage. If he fails that, REF DC 18 or catch fire.

    Round 4

    Reflex save vs snowball hail storm 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24

Kappi laughs as he slips and dodges (most) of the crazy snow storm. Its all in the reflexes

Having thrown his favored tomahawks he fumbles for the several javelins on his back. But while dodging the larger pieces of the snowy hail storm he can't quite manage. Much easier, he goes for a few of the knives he has strapped to various parts of his body. Still ducking, weaving, and moving in awkward looking contortions the rogue 5 foot steps and throw a couple blades at the flying wizard.
Later on while thinking about this very fight, Davosh would think of Kappi dodging and throwing knives. He looked nothing like a ninja while doing it. More like "a stork on acid". Assuming that storks sometimes threw knives...

    Point blank shot, deadly aim
    first throw 1d20 + 8 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (5) + 8 + 1 - 1 = 13
    dagger 1d4 + 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 1 + 2 = 9

    second throw 1d20 + 8 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (18) + 8 + 1 - 1 = 26
