Heads up, y'all: flying out tomorrow to visit dear friends in Oregon, then it's on to Seattle for PaizoCon goodness. Though I may get the chance to check in periodically along the way, I may not. I'll be back for reals next Tuesday evening.
Ali'yanah D'ohr'hein |
Hey all--who got Chronicles for this campaign? I don't recall ever getting anything in my hand, and I've got a PFS table game on Saturday that I'd like to apply this earned Chronicle for, before the game starts.
GMT, I know you're not around, but if you get this before 7/5, gimme a quick hollar, eh? for emails, please use michael.susalka@gmail.com
*salute*
Oh...PFS # is 2296. If you want me to choose a char #, I'll apply it to char 3 (currently 1st level)
Dungeon Master S |
Mike, search this thread for "Chronicle" Chris posted a link to it.

1d6 ⇒ 6 <--hah! imagine that
feats: Greater Spell focus, evoc; elemental spell (undecided on element yet, either cold or acid)
free spells: fireball, dispel magic--maybe. need to double-chekc my existing 3rd level spells, cna't remember what I've got and I don't have that at work
GM thunderspirit |
I'm back, though facing some serious convention fatigue and not looking forward to work tomorrow at all. LOL
Will get something up for sure tomorrow.
Vojtek Wartooth |
Last 9 rolls = average was 1.8.
That is what we get for letting the dice roller get rusty. :(

Same here. When using a new class I'm always wondering whether I'm "doing it right," and Magus is tough because it's not that strong until later, so I stil can't tell. but it's definitely enjoyable.
The only complaint (and it's the nature of the beast) is that it can be tough to keep my own "mental continuity" when the action (both initiative-wise, and RP-wise) is sporadic and sparse. But like I said, nature of the beast--I knew it when I signed up, so it's just a "this is irksome" not an "oh I effing hate this you are all LOOZAAAAHS" or anything.
Whether I think any of you are loozaaaaahs is a secondary concern.
GM thunderspirit |
Glad y'all are enjoying this. I love the story (moreso the later books, frankly, but this one's not bad at all, just not as exciting as the later books) and am quite pleased with the collection of misfits you guys have built...and how you roleplay the bad rolls as well as the good :-)
Real Life Comes First [tm], but so you guys know, I've no interest in abandoning this game. It's going to take time, but I'm committed.
GM thunderspirit |
Thanks, Ali; I couldn't find it either, but lets' face it, my Perception checks aren't what they used to be... ;-)
Okay, as I recall, Edward indicated you guys were 123 points shy of 3rd level. Defeating the mantis was worth 1200 xp, and I'm arbitrarily awarding a story award for saving Uncle Pyotar from death by digestion of 615 points — cos I like round numbers. :-D
So: you all woke up the morning after the Mierul encounter at 3rd level. Huzzah!

Can I get a BOOyah
Magus Arcana chosen: Pool Strike
Spells learned: Grease, Frostbite (not EVERYthing we fight will be immune to cold, right??)
Feat:hmm, torn between Toughness and Weapon Focus: elven curve blade. Will choose soon.
Hey S, you've got a Magus. I'm torn between WF: Elven CB and Toughness. Suggestions?
Davosh the Wanderer |
I would go toughness. Because of boons, my magus has free proficiency and focus in his weapon. It's easier to get the attack bonus, but magus is still squishy, especially before they get medium armor.
Davosh Summary:
Feat: Quick Learner (take +1 HP and +1 skill when leveling in favored class.
Spells Known: Vomit Swarm, Burning Gaze
GM thunderspirit |
Just my 2 coppers, as I have a Magus who's now 9th level in PFS: the Magus is designed to be a glass cannon; your decisions on Ali should thus be focused on making that boom bigger and badder. JMSO.

I'll take the title Mike looozahhhh for me hehehe
Thanks DMTS round numbers are nice :D
Ali'yanah D'ohr'hein |
After considering both opinions, I believe I'll go with Weapon Focus. (figuring, easier hit = faster dead = less hits on me)
Vojtek Wartooth |
I want more life: 1d12 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
New Feat: Combat Reflexes
New Ability: Trap Sense +1
More rage: +2 rounds / day
Kappi Matarito |
HPs 1d8 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 + 1 = 10
Hurray for good hp rolls!
Ill try to get Kappi leveled up if its not too busy tonight. I can see it later. "Lady, what can we do to settle this domestic dispute asap, I have a new feat to pick out for my third level rogue..."
GM thunderspirit |
This is a reminder from your friendly neighborhood Spiderman GM that everyone has hero points.
Just sayin.' ;-)
GM thunderspirit |
Raven swarm: 750 xp.
Davosh the Wanderer |
750/5=150. Total is 3,650. Level 4 is 6,000.
In other news, I had TOTALLY forgotten that I have Scribe Scroll. After only having PFS characters for the last 7 years, I'd forgotten about it. I need to get my hands on some spells for my book. If anyone wants me to scribe them a scroll, tell me what you want and supply the materials....
Davosh the Wanderer |
Boom! My copy of the Advanced Class Guide just hit.... Oh man, I'm supposed to be prepping Skinsaw Murders for tonight...
GM thunderspirit |
Ooh, tough choice...
Edward W.Fell |
750/5=150. Total is 3,650. Level 4 is 6,000.
Am I missing something? By my count here we are at 3690xp and 2310 away from 4th level.
My math might be wrong, but from the Mantis and the additional story bonus we received (1200+615)/5=363 xp each from those.
GM thunderspirit |
Everyone add 10 xp each as a benevolence bonus.
Cos non-round numbers suck.
Ali'yanah D'ohr'hein |
HUZZAH!
I find it ironic that YOU are the one celebrating the thing that irked ME so much in our campaigns--you woudl never grant evne a one-digit XP bonus so it would be an even 5 or 10.
bastard.
See how easy that was?? See how happy that made you?!?!?!

Forgot to ask this before: you a subscriber?
So, give give give...what's cool? What's not? What did they do with the Hunter and Warpriest classes to make them Not Suck [tm]?
Davosh the Wanderer |
I'm a total Paizo junkie. I subscribe to almost everything. Warpriest is now all wisdom, not so much with the CHA. I haven't hit the hunter yet.
My investigator didn't change much, but I'm hoping that the archetype that loses poison in lieu of using INT for a variety of skills becomes legal.
Artwork is amazing.
...ooh and sorry Mike, I do forget what its like on this side of the campaign DM screen.

:-) Now let us see if that translates into any form of action. Heh.

Story award of 500 xp for connecting the dots and helping provide the Petskas with some closure about poor Thora.
I'm willing to say that Ali had some part of the gem left to give to Nadya as part of the wake ceremony Edward suggested. Remember too that you guys already buried the doll, so you helped guide Thora to her next destination already from her twisted fate.

Story award of 500 xp for connecting the dots and helping provide the Petskas with some closure about poor Thora
So that's 100 each I'm assuming. That will bring us to 3800xp, leaving 2200 till 4th level.
GM thunderspirit |
Yes, you guys have seen men in town (out of it, too; Nadya had her uncle and the3 guy who ended up infatuated with Ali along). Verana's is run by, well, Verana, and her daughter was coving the front for mom for a bit.
FYI: in Madison at Geek.Kon this weekend, and probably won't be back until Sunday evening.
GM thunderspirit |
FYI, all: I'm at the ER with my mother and I'm guessing they're going to admit her. If they do, I'm likely to be out of commission for at least a few days, maybe longer. I'll keep y'all posted.
Dungeon Master S |
Hey guys, just a heads up.
1. I have an away meet tomorrow after school, so I'll be out of posting.
2. This weekend I'm running 3 legs in a 208 mile relay race. That's correct, it's not a typo. 208 miles. My team of 12 will be running from Cannon mountain to Hampton Beach. We run through the night, nonstop. Needless to say, I'm going to be busy and tired until Sunday. So I'll be out of posting.
2b. My team is running for Alzheimer's research. I always say, it's not awareness and hopes that cure disease, it's scientists doing research. So, if you're so inclined, my fundraising page is here.
3. Hopefully Thunderspirit's trip is short and full of happy endings, so if the game picks up, I hereby leave Vojtek to pilot my character.
Ali'yanah D'ohr'hein |
I also will be sparse in posting this weekend. It's my kid's RC club annual Float Fly, where we camp at Greenfield state park and fly RC planes on the lake. Leaving Sat AM, back some time Sunday.
best wishes to DMTS family, and good luck to S--watch those knees bro!
GM thunderspirit |
Thanks for your patience, guys. Things are more or less okay on this end.
My mom's on oxygen with a nose cannula (PSA: that's whatcha get for 30 years of smoking), so the nosebleed she developed Wednesday morning interfered with her ability to breathe. Spent several hours in the ER until they finally put her in a room with a face mask.
The procedure to stop the bleeding was, shall we say, all kinds of unfun, particularly since she's allergic to local anesthetics. I'll spare you the gruesome details, but suffice it to say I wouldn't want to go through it WITH local anesthetics.
Anyway, so far so good. Bleeding seems to have stopped and hopefully she's out of the hospital for a while to come yet.
Should be ready to go again tomorrow.
