The room beyond is filled with a horrible stench, far worse than that of the previous rooms. You quickly find the source of the stench to be a 5' diameter pit towards the eastern end of the room. Based on the area immediately around the pit, it's obvious what the orcs decided to use the pit for.

Kasei holds his nose and looks over the edge of the pit to verify that what they smell is the only thing down there.

You can see 3 exits from the latrine room (not counting the pit), plus there are a number of options if you backtrack (which you can see on map slide 2).

Burned wood, pottery fragments, and ancient dwarven utensils litter the floor. Carved maps of the surrounding area decorate the walls, though orcs have added their own grizzly markers to the stony cartography.

The maps do show the surrounding area. The base map looks to be quite old, showing the area as it stood when the dwarves settled the area. The orc markings over the top of it, seem to show newer settlements, belonging to orcs, humans, and others.

Kasei takes the lead, weapon out.
You find yourself reconnected with the room with the pit of filth. The stench tells you that you have found yourself back at this room before your eyes confirm it.
A quick glance at the exits reveals a room to the south that goes 15' deep and extends both east and west. To the west of the pit room, there it looks like it opens up in to a much larger room with ceilings sloping up, and a flicker of light comes from somewhere higher up in the chamber.

The smokestick goes down the hole. You don't hear it land, and other than the small amount of smoke that emanated as it was flying into the hole, you don't see any smoke.

"'Tis deep," says Ellismus before activating and throwing a sunrod into the hole.
The hole goes about a hundred feet deep, where the sunrod lands on what must be years of piled refuse and filth left to decompose. However, as the sunrod drops to the floor, you notice a glint of metal from something about 15-20 feet down the hole, embedded in the side wall of the pit. The momentary reflection quickly goes away as gravity carries the sunrod to the bottom of the hole.
The hole actually hooks to the underdark, but that is outside of the scope of this adventure.

Apologies. Biggest quarter ever at work, which meant ridiculous number of contracts going through last minute, so Friday through Monday was working all weekend. I didn't get to even check PbP for 4 days. Sorry I didn't give any notice or updates.
There doesn't seem to be any traps. The pit seems to be exactly what you think it is (a 100' deep outhouse), but someone seems to have dropped or thrown a small bladed weapon that landed on a ledge below, and still has a little metal showing through the filth.
You are able to lower Ellismus to retrieve it with little problems other than the smell.

After Ellismus brings up the weapon, Kasei will take a look at it. Detect magic, Spellcraft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16 if needed.

Although Kuwabara confirms that the kukri is magical, he is not able to identify it's properties. Ellismus has no better luck in determining what the properties of the weapon are. Underneath the muck, it looks to be very finely made with a valuable ruby set into it's pommel, giving it value beyond it's magic.
Paths lead west and south from the chamber, in addition to options provided by backtracking to the first hall of the complex.

The stone visage of a horrifying creature with several tentacles for a face sits in the corner of this room. The creature appears to be rearing back in preparation to strike.
