Roger! |
Roger is surprised by the alchemist force-feeding him the infusion like he was a baby with a bottle. Fortunately Roger and Roo were prepared for ghostly monsters. Roger draws an oil of Magic Fang and pours it on Roo's big feet. The marsupial now empowered will dropkick the echo.

Algonzo steps to the southeast (already applied to map), and full-defenses while maintaining his second round of Bardic Clerical Performance (though noticeably loses some of his self-confidence from the mental damage)! 13 touch AC now! Shield, unfortunately, is a Shield bonus (unlike Shield of Faith, weirdly enough.)

With Akaash distracting the ghost, Kafir, Roger!, and Roo all pound on the femme fantasma, but it is Algonso who delivers the final stroke, poking her with his wand and blasting her with positive energy. The ghost disappears without so much as a moan.
Out of Combat
After healing yourselves from a seemingly random encounter, the party continues onward to the care home.
The sign outside of the stark hospice reads, “Mother’s Care Home for Invalids.” Outside the facility, a lone figure watches from across the street.
Akaash Vashtar |
Akaash sighs in relief that everyone's made it through this ordeal.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
The sylph whispers to his companions. "That woman, she's got her attention on the care home. Maybe we are about to find an ally of circumstance? Shall we talk to her?"

"Do not worry. Even though the ghost has drained me, I cab still speak." Al moves to talk to the woman. "Greetings, Miss. I believe we are fated by the truest of gods to meet here, as we, too, have interest in this Home. Perchance I may ask why it seem you have seen a ghost inside?"

Kafir Raml-meshayh-alemlhed |
Kafir coincidentally finds the need to spit when Algonso mentions Razmir. "Sorry, something in my throat."
"Let's go speak to the lady."
Kafir also asks Akaash to heal him with a wand he hands over to the alchemist. "Made by a witch but I bet you've got the skill to use it," the Rahadoumi explains, "And you can hold on to it for me for future use."

Akaash Vashtar |
Anyone's ability was damaged and imposes painful penalties? I have an infusion of lesser restoration if anyone wants.
Akaash nods and accepts the wand, tapping Kafir with it. "Of course, friend."
Roger! |
I think our bard is less pretty. And Roo took some, but he's only in danger of being comatose if we fight something like that again. Heal the bard.
GM Tektite |
Going over to speak with the woman, she sees you and nods. Clearly desperate, she starts explaining herself before even being asked.
"We brought my father here because the new owner promised good care. After he took over, everything was clean and bright, and Father seemed happy." She says, glancing at the care home. "Then the staff stopped allowing visitors. Instead of proper food, they served gruel and water. Father was old, but he wasn’t sickly. Yet he passed on quickly after we brought him here.”
She looks up with bitter tears welling in her eyes. “If you have loved ones here, get them out now! Don’t let them suffer and die in there!”
Algonso Gentky |
43/50 charges of Faith remain
"Such injustice to humanity will not be tolerated! Lies and deceit to those whom are trusting is a pact by which this priest of Razmir will not stand!" He looks to the woman, "Know your father will not have passed in vain; his passing brought you here and spurred my anger! We shall bring this facade to light, on my honor of faith! Who is this owner to who deserves a good word?"

Akaash Vashtar |
"We cannot let that infamy go unanswered... and that half-elf might be the one we're looking for. It's worth investigating, in any case. We thank you for your time, kind lady. Is there anything we could do to help you get some form of closure?"
Kafir Raml-meshayh-alemlhed |
"Great. So maybe our half-elf quarry has gone off the deep end maltreating people now?"
Kafir Raml-meshayh-alemlhed |
Kafir turns to the woman, "We're going in there. If we see your father we'll send him out to you."
Kafir Raml-meshayh-alemlhed |
Yeah, I meant more that we would bring the body back for her if we found it.
GM Tektite |
Assuring the woman you will be wary and bring back her father's remains if found, the party enters the care home's front door.
The brief hallway beyond the front door of the care home is bleak and gloomy. A large meeting area with several tables is completely devoid of patients and family members. Two offices near the door feature small windows—the only light within the building appears to be from the exterior windows.
Kafir Raml-meshayh-alemlhed |
"So? Do we give ourselves the tour?" the Pure Legionnaire says as he lets himself into the first room.
Kafir Raml-meshayh-alemlhed |
The one he's next to on the map.
GM Tektite |
Kafir opens the first door to the left onto what appears to be the main office. The main office is furnished with two disorganized desks and shelves covered in flat papers, quills, and inkwells. Two middle-aged administrators, a man and a woman, look at one another as if they’re surprised to receive visitors. The man stands and looks down his nose through a pair of spectacles, saying nothing.
