I'm still deciding what to play. I've got a folder of rejected character ideas, I might revive one of them. Originally leaning towards Qadiran Horselord cavalier, although a short-ish non-PFS module like this might be the perfect opportunity to try out one of my "no divine healing Pure Legionnaire from Rahadoum" characters.
I originally made an Order of the First Law cavalier for PFS and got him up to level 2 via GM credit before the leadership changed their minds and made that Order illegal. That Order forbids you from benefiting from divine magic so it would have been tricky in PFS without guarantee of some form of non-divine healing. There's also that tricky business of "all magical items are made by wizards and clerics" so you can't even buy potions made by witches or alchemists in PFS (even though they cost they same and it makes no difference for any character except Order of the First Law cavaliers). Had a similar build of ranger>Pure Legion Enforcer PrC that I decided would be tricky to do in PFS.
Hmmmm. I might have to use one of those characters for this and see how the 'limited healing' thing works out. I'll work on it.

Mad Dog Barbarian, I presume? Its no worse than Rangers whose animal companions get their favored enemy bonus... Those poor giants...
I had a Human who took the big T-Rexish thing and got the "+2 to a companion's stat" to strength on a Mad Dog build. That was overkill.

Looks like most of my ideas are melee-oriented cavaliers at the moment. I'll wait to see what type of casters/healers we have before I lock down on either Qadiran Horselord or Pure Legionnaire Order of the First Law cavalier.

This is my character, please let me know if everything's alright. I'm looking forward to playing it! I've wanted to play an alchemist for ages, this will be my first shot at it.

EndlessForms |

Excellent! I've always wanted to play an alchemist too.
Do you have the infusion discovery or would you be able to supply me with some potions? Just thinking of ways to make my Order of the First Law cavalier work since they can't benefit from divine magic. But if you can pass along healing in one form or another I may try it.

Akaash Vashtar |

I did! I just realized the HeroLab export didn't include my formula book, so I'll include it manually now.
I was considering the idea of having a one level dip into foresight wizard. That would grant me access to scroll/wand use (RAW alchemists can't use these), arcane bond object with lots of first level spells available to cast, all knowledges as class skills, foresight 8/day, +2 will save, bonus to initiative... in exchange for 1d6 bomb damage, a 1st and a 2nd level extract per day. Any insight on that choice?

EndlessForms |

Yeah, I know bard or witch wands will work well out of combat. Just making sure I have a good in-combat alternative if things go rough. Ok, I'll make my Rahadoumi cavalier tomorrow. I think me and the alchemist will be best friends!

This is the alternate version with one level of foresight wizard. Any thoughts?

Up to you. Gives you some cool utilities, that's for sure, but straight alchemist would be useful too.

The only obvious potential issue is that Arcane Failure chance for your wizard spells (especially since a few of them are reactionary things.) Plus, the minor hit to Bomb and extract progression, but since this isn't a full AP and we'll only level a few times... Acute Senses are another thing that I've found to prevent surprise rounds (which seems like the primary dip purpose.)
That said, either are functional enough. Heck, I've gotten a 20-Wisdom-at-start Rogue 10/Inquisitor 3/Cleric 2 through an AP.
Seconding the "Play what you want", but those two bits seem like the biggest holes in the build. Either drop the shirt and just cast Mage Armor, get the Arcane Armor Training feat, or just prepare long-term buffs/nonsematic spells or whatever for a little more optimizing ideas.

Good points. ASF is only 10% with the mithral shirt, but it's still 10%. If it were PFS, I could just pick a wand of mage armor and be done with it.
Actually, the dip is aimed at getting Prescience to ensure those bombs will hit, especially in melee (precise bombs discovery doesn't apply if you miss your target), as well as some spell flexibility (including access to scroll/wand use). There's also the matter of this highly-interesting 1st-level spell for sylphs only, windy escape. Being able to cast it up to three times per day is an incredibly good defensive ability, I think.
Thanks for the feedback! I'll probably try out the dip version, see how it goes.
Also, I almost forgot to take the clever wordplay trait alongside the Diplomacy ranks in the heandband! Silly me.

EndlessForms |

Started working on my cavalier this morning. 90% done except traits and mount. Does anyone know of a trait that gives Acrobatics as a class skill? Rice Runner is the only one I know of and it doesn't really fit.

EndlessForms |

He'll be wearing medium armor. I'll just live with it being out-of-class I suppose.

Kafir Raml-meshayh-alemlhed |

And here's Kafir and his trusty camel Shaytan!
Went with the khopesh because it's bad ass. Also, picked up a wand of cure light wounds specifically made by a witch so it's arcane and not divine (price is the same either way but for whatever reason PFS won't allow you to do such a thing). I have to save against divine spells (even if they are helpful) thanks to my trait and actually lose some of my Order abilities if I benefit from divine magic anyways. No cleric/oracle/druid/etc buffs for me!

1 wedding reception and 2.5 vodka-and-Pepsi's later, I believe the Arcane Healer from Faiths & Philosophies is the winner (as much as I loathe to make another bard.) Building it up solely on das phone will be a hassle, but I'll get it ready when time permits.
So, you'll probably still save against my spells (thanks to False Casting, Secret Signs, and False Focus), but channels is channels!

Heading off to GenCon and won't be able to post much for the rest of the week-weekend. I know Tek will be there too but just wanted to alert everyone that I might not be around until next week.

Kafir Raml-meshayh-alemlhed |

No problem and welcome back!

Kafir Raml-meshayh-alemlhed |

Ok, I've got Kafir updated on HeroLab. Do we have enough money to pick up a handy haversack for Kafir on the way out of Cassomir? He's got a lot of crap, especially after swiping those medicine cabinets. Also, cavalier kits weigh over 100 lbs. I guess I could just put that on Shaytan, he's got plenty of load left....

Kafir Raml-meshayh-alemlhed |

Actually, forget about the handy haversack. Just switching the cavalier's kit to Shaytan's saddlebags was enough to bring him back to light encumbrance and still carry all the antiplagues, etc, that he stole requisitioned. Kafir should be ready to go.

Algonso Gentky |

Isn't a bunch of the cavalier's kit saddlebags and stuff?
Update list:
+1 bab
39 HP tot (5+1 HP)
1 2nd known & cast
+1 channel and Suggestion BP
+1 saves
Skills 7+1 FClass (bluff diplo UMD perfo SoH scraft knR SM)
I believe that's everything? Sleep time again maybe?

Kafir Raml-meshayh-alemlhed |

Yeah, the cavalier's kit has saddlebags and such but there's no way to split the weight and just leaving it all on the camel makes more sense anyways.
Also, what do we need rest for? Level and reset! Let's capture us some crazy half-elf!

Oh, no, I meant sleep for ME, do ho ho. I'm at a mildly woobily sleep-lack tier, I think.

No takers for the infusions? I'm a sad sylph!
By the way, just letting you know that I'll be away on weekend with Mrs Lithrac, I'll return Sunday evening.
