Oh crap this is worse than I thought...

Reese the Fool |
Reese screams at the undead to get them off of her allies (and hopefully shaking Skylark out of his apparent stupor) as she 5-foot-steps to try and keep them both at arm's length, swinging savagely at the one she wounded already (southern one), ready to try and parry any incoming blows!
Piranha Strike: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Skylark Jones |
Skylark takes a 5-foot step towards the middle of the room and grabs the wand of CLW, and begins desperately waving it at the spots where people are bleeding to death starting with Farfax.

"I'm so sorry... I don't know what happened I just panicked and froze up. I'm not one to scare easily but something about dark places and undead gives me chills. Even Juniper ran away and I have never seen that happen. We should finish exploring this place quickly so I can go home to a warm bed."
Hikari Mai |
Hikari regains consciousness thanks to Skylark's healing. She rises to her feet slowly and bows slightly towards Skylark. "Thank you, I do not want to meet the Lady of Graves so early in my life."
Hikari then examines the bodies for any clues to their identity or valuable possessions.

Aftering destroying the undead, you notice the groundskeeper, thinking he has found his daughter, sits cross-legged, rocking back and forth, wepping. [smaller]"I've found her.....I've found her...."
You note that the corridor to the north ends in a small chamber.
Searching the area, you find the corpse of a Gebbite general that has been laid to rest here. The bronze full plate armor worn by the Gebbite general is +1 full plate.
All that is left is the door in the western wall. you find it neither trapped, nor locked.
Hikari Mai |
Hikari takes a moment to console the groundskeeper and says gently, "This undead body is no longer your daughter. Let your daughter's spirit go and rest with her ancestors. In your heart her memory will live eternal."
Hikari then turns to the door, focuses her mind and body until they are unified as a weapon and then opens the door.
Reese the Fool |
Reese sighs and drops to one knee, still fairly hurt, breathing heavily from all the desperate fighting as she looks to Skylark.
"I'd love a few hits from my wand too, if you're willing, before we go forward...that last one took a lot out of me..."

"Yeah, I half expect us all to drown in dark watery graves like the rest. But by all means, let's open the door. Hope you're all strong swimmers."

(hp 20/20)
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Reese nods to Skylark as he heals her up with a few taps of the wand. Still sore from the fighting, she leans on her sword as she gets back up and slings her backpack onto a shoulder.
"Thanks for that, hon...everyone okay now?" She looks with concern over everyone, especially Farfax, giving him a little chuckle and wink when he exclaims his revitalized state.
"...makes me glad I bought that damned thing even though I haven't the foggiest idea how to use it myself..." her line of thought cut off by her companions making note of the sounds ahead as she can barely hear it herself.
Blade at the ready, she moves near the front of the party, trying to be ready for anymore surprises, muttering... "I don't know how to swim, now that you mention it..."
GM Tektite |
Hikari opens the door to reveal another stone chamber. Passages lead off to the north and south, but both end in collapses. To the west, down a steep set of stairs is another stone door.
Yep! ;)
Opening the next door, you enter an odd shaped crypt. With the frequency of storm waves approaching the shore, salt water erupts from cracks in the floor of this large hexagonal room. Foamy, blinding spray jumps in every direction, then drains from calf-height to ankle-deep before the next wave hits. Occasionally a length of black-brown seaweed shoots in and adds one more strand to a room that already appears draped in long wet hair. In each of the chamber’s six corners, a fluted pillar rises to the fifty-foot ceiling. Between each pair of pillars, an open arch connects the chamber to an attached space. Beyond the northwest and southwest arches, three tiers of recessed spaces form three massive steps. A stone sarcophagus rests on each step.
An rotting figure dressed in rotting finery, wisps of fetid, expensive cloth still dangling from its limbs stands in the room. Perched atop its head is a golden crown, resplendent with a dozen glittering gems, while its putrid fingers each bear extravagant rings made from a dozen different precious gems and metals.
The creature hisses at you as you enter!

Reese the Fool |
Reese will spring into action, jumping forward ahead of the party, blade held at the ready, but with a little red gleam in her eye.
"Seems cold in here - how's this for a warm welcome?"
With that, she extends her off-hand and activates her inborn Ifrit power of flame!
Burning Hands: 2d4 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5 (Reflex DC 15 for half damage)

Hikari then jumps through the air, landing a kick in the creature's face!

Hikari Mai |
Fort save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 /forehead
Hikari goes rigid after the undead attacks her. Maybe she should have gone for a sweeping leg strike instead of that epic flying kick...

Farfax fires and arrow, hiting the undead and sending it crumpling into a heap!
Out of Combat!
Searching the area, you find each stone sarcophagus is stuck closed
except for the front most one in the northwest alcove. The sarcophagus lid slides aside with the sound of a grinding millstone. The well-preserved body of a young girl lies inside, stringy black hair obscuring the face. Her atrophied limbs are drawn up like folded sticks against her torn school uniform.
Reese the Fool |
"Nice shot hon!" Reese exclaims over her shoulder as Farfax's arrow takes the creature down. She immediately kneels to make sure that Hikari is okay before standing and cleaning her sword, letting the others look around while she stands guard for anything else ready to jump out at them.
Seeing the body of the girl, she frowns and whispers to the others, "...poor thing must have fled down here when things flooded, but before these things rose from their graves."
Hikari Mai |
When the undead's paralytic touch wears off Hikari stretches and rubs her sore muscles before joining Reese at the sarcophagus.
"Could this be the groundskeeper's daughter or our patron's daughter?"
Hikari takes a closer look and examines the body to see if it wears any identifying jewelry like a ring or necklace with a family crest.
Farfax |
As he peers over Hikaris shoulder at the corpse, Farfax cant help but feel uneasy; finding it strange that this one child would be sealed in a sarcophagus. He also begins to look for anything significant
