Koemi gives Vahn a touch with her healing wand.

Faldoc would like to get one more tap of the wand (I'll roll to save time).

Heal: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

OK, I'm back to full. I believe we used 5 charges of my wand.

Morgrim finishes healing himself using his wand.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Before they get to the Secure Market, he will try to find an alchemist's shop and buy a packet of Troll Styptic (100 gp).

There are plenty of markets as you cross the city, so anything you want to buy should be available.

Once the party is ready, they make their way to the Secure Market. Arriving at the gate, the party is asked to turn over all weapons...

Liberty's Edge

HP:26/27, AC 20(22) Touch 11, FF 19, Init +1, Perc:-1, F+8, R+5, W+5, CMB +8, CMD 18 LoH 1/[4] Male Aasimar (Angelblooded) Paladin 3 (Favoured)/Oath of Vengence

Arryn complies knowing his gauntletted fists are weapons in their own right.

Is he allowed to keep his shield?

Grand Lodge

Morgrim complies. "You ever get someone trying to sneak one of these in?" he asks as he hands over his spear.
Diplomacy to strike up conversation with guard: 1d20 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 + 1 = 6
(the +1 is from Silver-Tongued Haggler, not that it matters)

Silver Crusade

AC 20/16/15 | hp 13/13 | F +6 (+5 circumstance bonus vs. cold weather), R +8, W +4 | SR 12 | Init +4 | Senses darkvision 120 ft., low-light vision; Perception +8 (+10 to notice unusual stonework)

No untrained sleight of hands right?

Don´t you dare touch me there!
Koemi tries to sneak in her dagger in her underwear. It would be small for anyone else, but still a dagger in times of need.

Bluff: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16

Liberty's Edge

Half Elf Ranger (Urban) [15.0] HP 124/124 | AC 36 T 23 FF 28 | CMB +18 CMD 40 (FF 32) | F +15 R +22 W +13 (+2 vs enchant) | Init +10 | Perc +28 (low-light vision) | SM +1 | Stealth +24 | DD +25 | Acro/EA +21 | Climb/Swim +7 | Surv +20

Faldoc will willingly turn over all his weapons but he will "forget" that he has a dagger in a spring-loaded wrist sheath.

Sleight of Hand?: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20

Grand Lodge

Male Tiefling 58507-3 | Alchemist (Grenadier) 1 | AC 17 T 13 FF 14 | HP 5/8 | F +2 R +5 W +2 | Init +5 | Perc +5

Vahn turns over his crossbow, but doesn't make any attempt to turn over any vials or other alchemical supplies, hoping the guards won't know the difference.

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23

The guard just scowls at Morgrim as the man attempts to small talk. Searching the party, the guard discovers the party secreted daggers and confiscates them with a knowing smile. The guard also asks Arryn to leave his shield. The guard allows Vahn to keep his vial, confident in his knowledge that the market is under an anti-magic field.

He turns to allow the party passage, once all weapons are turned over.

Liberty's Edge

Half Elf Ranger (Urban) [15.0] HP 124/124 | AC 36 T 23 FF 28 | CMB +18 CMD 40 (FF 32) | F +15 R +22 W +13 (+2 vs enchant) | Init +10 | Perc +28 (low-light vision) | SM +1 | Stealth +24 | DD +25 | Acro/EA +21 | Climb/Swim +7 | Surv +20

Drat! Finally a chance to use the wrist sheath and foiled! I guess we'll be on our way.

The party enters the Secure Market, weaponless. Strolling among the stall, the party eventually finds Saldin Marafi’s stall at the back of a narrow notch in the edge of the Secure Market.

At this point, we'll say you are about fifty feet away and no one has noticed you at this point. Anything you want to do, or just go in and talk to him?

Liberty's Edge

Let us see if we can send one or two around behind him before we make our move up to talk to him... these people seem afflicted by guilty consciences and a desire to run - your thoughts?

Note: Saldin Marafi’s stall at the back of a narrow notch in the edge of the Secure Market. There isn't a "behind"

Liberty's Edge

My thoughts are that I'm tired of playing games with these people. Let's see if one of you silver-tongued folk get simply get what we need without a fight. I feel naked without my stuff.

Perception, looking to see if we are being watched/followed: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14

Allright, i´ll just walk uo tp him and tell him the figure was stolen or talk it out of him somehow. You just have a plan b if it doesn´t work!

With these words, Koemi starts walking until she stands right in front of Saldin Marafi´s stall. There she shouts:

Hoi you big one there! I have some business to attend with you! ou won´t let a beautyful lady stand outside here and wait, will you?

Diplomacy to make more friendly: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30

Plan B? I might have a Plan "get the hell out of here" if you can't cut it. Watch your tongue. Silly gnome probably didn't even hear me.

Arryn's jaw drops...

So much for that, he mutters as he follows in the gnomes wake.

Are there any stalls selling something vaguely weaponizable like walking sticks, candlesticks, wrenches, or small statues?

GM Rolls:
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14

Saldin smiles as Koemi begins to to speak to him. Of course not my lady. How can I help you?

Looking around, Morgrim notices awning poles that could be makeshift quarterstaves, old pieces of machinery that could be used as clubs, and a cask full of spice that could be serve as an irritant if thrown in someone's face.

So what are we doing? Koemi?

Was wondering that myself... I was gonna Aid another but... well, she got a 30. I'm waiting for her to act now.

Once the merchant sees Koemi as areliable and trustworthy friend, his best friend, she´ll just ask him to give her the statue.

Diplomacy request: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25

Dear Saldin, you know i really care about you and only wish your best. You have been fooled lately and you bought a really dangerous statue, which in addition has been stolen! The statue is kind of coursed and it would be for your best if you just give it to us and let us secure it, bringing it back to the place where it belongs, before the curse can affect you!

So if he was indifferent, with the 30 this should be at least two steps better now, meaning friendly or helpfull. Then i can just request it DC 0 + his CHA mod. Of course up to GM call and the scenario script, but legal and correct after diplomacy rules. If you say no, it´s ok with me. But of course i have to try it.

I guess the direct way is as good as any other. Faldoc comments to the rest of the group. If it works, I wouldn't mind.

Well...it doesn't say there has to be fight...

Saldin's face goes grim with concern. Oh dear, that is most unfortunate. I don't want anything to do with a cursed statue or stolen goods. I am an honest merchant. He reaches over, digging in one of the spice trays and pulls out a statue. He hands it Koemi. Here, I will be happy if you take it off my hands and I will deal with I nought it from myself. Thank you so much for your concern. Is there anything else I can do for you, dear?

You've made a wise move friend. May the good Gods bless you that any undue influence has no effect..

Saldin nods at Arryn. Thank you again for taking that cursed thing off my hands. Be careful!

As the party exits the Secure Market and retrieves your gear, you are approached by a liveried messenger bearing a message from Torch. Torch requests that you meet him for dinner at his inn.

"Abadar be praised! We are done with this ridiculous task."

Do we have time to return the statues to the venture-captain before we meet with Torch?

Sure.

Koemi is very pleased with the outcome of her negotiations, but rapidly gives the statue to someone else. Of course she will join Torches dinner, but not before fixing a dreamcatcher on the marketplace.

Alright, lets dump these pesky things and see what this Torch guy wants with us now.

The party finds the Venture-Captain and shows her the statues. She thanks the your group for an expeditious conclusion to the mission and shakes her head when she hears of Torch. She promises the party bright future in the Society.

Going to meet Torch, he treats the party to a sumptuous dinner, questions you to make sure that his name was kept out of the operation, and reminds you that the Society owes him a favor. After finishing your dinner, Torch bids you farewell and good luck, saying something offhand about keeping tabs on you.

Thus Concludes The Many Fortunes of Grandmaster Torch.

Hope you all enjoyed yourselves. Sorry this one took so long.

I'm going to take a short hiatus for the Online GameDay, but once I get those games well underway, I will reach out to you about playing in another.
