Nemzo nods, realizing danger is most certainly imminent. He unslings his laser rifle once he sees Huduthan head for the door. The android follows the vesk, ready to support the grunt if needed. "Let us hope this one does not have feathers."

Hold on now, let's think about this, Gil says as the laser weaponry comes out, Maybe this thing isn't that bad, just mischievous.

He pulls out his arc pistol and sets it to its lower power setting so as to make it stun rather than kill. Perhaps we should see if Fitch can send us some pulsecasters or something so maybe we can bring it in alive and calm it down somewhere safe if negotiations DO break down, he proposes, his overly large eyes making what may be a puppy-dog begging or could just be his normal stare.

Gil smiles wide when Hudathan agrees, moving to access the comm the party had been using to contact Fitch previously. Thanks, Hudi. I appreciate you putting up with my antics.

When the comm is answered, Gil talks fast in an attempt to make his request before more children require stapling to one bulkhead or another, Fitch ma'am, possible aggitated xeno. Could we requisition pulsecasters to take it in alive if diplomacy is ineffective?

Gerald grips his rifle ready to follow Hudathan into the next room. At Gil's statement he shakes his head. "I'd be more worried about ourselves or the damage that thing could be doing to the ship than taking something alive if it doesn't want us to. But I'll wait a moment." As Gil places his request Gerald will pipe up at the end with an addition "And also someone to take two brats someplace they're less likely to keep damaging your ship."

Hudathan, trying to be helpful, speaks up. "Tell her we'll staple them to the wall for her!"

He turns to Rigs, joking. "So, do all Ysoki staple their children? Or is Fitch alone in that?"

Appearing completely serious Gerald starts digging through his engineering kit "I think I've some staples large enough here. I might have to juice up the delivery method to get them through the walls here but it should only take a short medical procedure to correct any issues caused by that." Gerald stops digging and puts his kit back in place. "Nevermind, that would be silly. It would certainly damage the plating and might hit a vital system."

Gil's call rings for an awkwardly long time, the soft beeping in his ear the loudest sound around as the children stand there sniffing awkwardly. Finally, the ever distracted Fitch answers and listens to your update. "What! I was wondering where those two were off at." She raises her voice so that they can hear as well, this may cause Gil to go temporarily deaf. "Your father is going to kill you both Lan and Si! Get your little butts up here before I have to come down there with the duct tape!" The pair obligingly run for their lives back towards the exit to E-deck and their awaiting punishment.

There's a pause while Fitch waits, seemingly able to tell exactly when the kids are gone, then she speaks. "I am not giving you pulsecasters. Because I have no idea where they are in the storeroom and it'll take too long, also you need to learn to prepare yourselves, and third... We're not exo-guardians! We ask the questions BEFORE the shooting! Call me back when you can tell me what it is and what its favorite food is." The comm cuts off.

As the door to the next room is pried open you get a good look inside. This area consists of two adjoining chambers. Four large containment capsules fill the fore room, three of which hold stasis-locked objects, including a tablet, a strange curved sword, and an odd spiral of bioluminescent coral. A crack leaks fluid from the fourth capsule, which displays a foot-wide breach near the bottom. The aft room contains several desks, each hosting a deactivated computer terminal.

The oddest thing is that the room is freezing! The temperature is far below what would be comfortable for any of you. Enough so that every surface is coated in a thin layer of ice.

Moving more than 10ft at a time will require a DC 12 acrobatics check to not fall prone.

Culture or Perception DC 16:
The room is rather quiet, but you notice that there appears to be a garbage can hanging awkwardly from a tool hook on the far wall.

Survival DC 18:
There are small scuffs in the ice on the floor leading to a set of tool hooks on the far wall of the chamber.

As Finch clicks off, Hudathan holsters his laser with a huff. "I like the way the Exo-Guardians do it." He makes a grumpy face and walks to the door.

After entering the room Hudathan, intent on not slipping, looks at his feet for the entirety of the time it takes to move to the first doorway.

Is that a door on the west side of the fore room?

There's a door on the western edge, but when you check it you find the thing is jammed completely up and can't be opened.

Gil seems a little crestfallen at the news, but it wasn't unexpected. He gingerly steps into the room behind Hudathan, trying to not to slip on the ice coating the floor. Just like home... he mumbles.

Noticing the trash can, he remebers something the kids said about the "small thing," and silently points to it with his finger. Gingerly moving forward, he starts talking in a calm, soothing voice at the trash can, hey there, how's it going little guy? Look, we just want to talk to you a little bit, would that be ok?

Gil and Gerald notice something off in the room, but Gil is the one to choose to act on it. As he approaches the garbage can it starts to jitter and shiver. When he gets just a touch too close a piercing sound echoes through the room, sounding like a hedgehog in distress. Suddenly the garbage can loses shape and melts into a blob of grey goo that flees to the ceiling and one of the nearby lights.

It latches onto one of the lights and turns itself into a hammer hanging down. Clearly its trying to camouflage itself as things in the room, but it seems to have no idea what actually belongs where. It also appears to be terrified.

You've calmed it down some, Gil. But it's still clearly terrified. Anyone can use diplomacy to try and further calm it. Acrobatics or Athletics may also be used to try and catch it so it can't keep running around.

Being neither diplomatic or particularly athletic Gerald will let the others make the attempts. He will instead stay at the door and try to prevent the creature from leaving that way, perhaps by closing any doors and insuring they stay that way.

Hudathan makes an effort to catch the creature while the others merely watch the antics. His parkour goes poorly, and when he tries to propel himself off the desk his boot slips on the ice and it turns into a wild tumble through the air.

Despite the utter lack of grace he manages to clip the hanging hammer, and both Hudathan and it tumble to the ground. There's a moments struggle while it tries to flee, but he keeps hold of it. With the creature grasped it hasn't settled down and continues to flail and shift wildly; one moment a pile of good, next a wrench, and then a replica of the vesk's gun.

This is something none of you have ever seen before, it's not in any database or research center in the Pact Worlds or their allies. But you're able to figure out that it's confused and panicking about being in a strange place just by its behavior.

Behavior that has calmed considerably in Hudathan's continued death grip. It's like wrestling with jello, but somehow his Vesk training allows him to keep ahold of the creature, which eventually goes limp in his grip and stops struggling when no one begins trying to eat it. Whatever it is, it simply slumps there and oozes slightly, but you now have a handle on it.

Fitch is probably going to want a report on this one now that you've got it corralled.

Just about done with this part after you report back in, then off to Aquisitives.

Nemzo nods a few times in private conversation with his AI. "Indeed ZIRA, we will fire off a quick report on our findings to the university once we are able..."

When you contact Fitch once again she is initially confused by Gil's statement before remembering her own previous rant. She leans in close to the screen, causing one of her eyeballs to get large as she stares at you all and the weird blob Hudathan is holding. "Stay right there!"

Twenty minutes later Fitch arrives with a small group of people including a few engineers that can now get to work on fixing the fact that half the deck is frozen and a team of experts in xenobiology. This latter group will take the blob from you and hopefully be able to find a way to communicate with it.

"Good work, team! Who knew our predecessors were storing an actual alien, one that might be intelligent no less, down in this part of the ship. There's so much we're still not aware off." She looks a bit chagrined, but shakes it off and pats Rigs on the shoulder (mostly because it's the only shoulder she can reach). "Job well done you lot. This is what it means to be a Wayfinder. Discovery and making new friends..." She shouts back over her shoulder. [/b]"AND PUNISHING MISCREANT LITTLE KIDS!"[/b]

"Speaking of which, here's some cash for your work... and Kieu wanted me to give you this as thinks for tracking down his children." She hands you a magical ring and states it helps with protecting you from things you might have a weak resistance towards and then shoos you on your way off the ship, muttering that she's too busy babysit her own men and their kids to deal with you any longer.

Having visited all of your personal faction leaders, you are instructed to report to Guidance. When you arrive you are greeted by a holographic image of a wizened male korasha lashunta.
